Strategická analýza spoločnosti / Strategic analysis of Tesco Stores a.s

The thesis deals with the strategic analysis of Tesco Stores a.s. The theoretical part contains a presentation of the methodology issues of strategic analysis and its basic parts, whose knowledge is essential for its processing. Introduction of the practical part contains the description of the profile of Tesco. In the macro surroundings analysis are acquired information on the trends and forces that affect the retail market the most. Following part contains the analysis of the retail sector, its attractiveness and the driving forces that affect it. The analysis of competitive environment has revealed the relationship between retail customers, suppliers and competitors themselves. Portfolio analysis shows the position of the basic types of stores of Tesco and SWOT analysis reveals strengths and weaknesses compared with market opportunities and threats. In conclusion are identified specific benefits and are designed strategic recommendations.

The goal of this paper is to establish a suitable strategy for Centropen company. The master's thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with analyses of the internal and external environment, which is based on literature. The practical part then applies the said analyses to the company. The internal analysis is carried out based on source and financial analysis. The external environment is studied through the PEST analysis and the Porter's Five Forces model. A synthesis of the two analyses forms the SWOT analysis. The strategy will be specified via IE matrix. The results of the analyses will serve as a suitable strategy recommendation for Centropen.

Method utilized to design corporate performance monitoring and controlling system is Balanced Scorecard. Strategy has been analysed using PESTLE and SWOT analysis. Structure and operations have been thoroughly analysed, as well as financial stability of the company. Strategy has been organized and linked with causal relations in a strategic map. Financial analysis of company has been utilized to verify availability of funding required for implementation of the Balanced Scorecard concept.
