[en] MODELLING OF THE EVOLUTION OF THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE CEMENT PASTE IN PRE SALT WELLS / [pt] MODELAGEM DA EVOLUÇÃO DAS PROPRIEDADES MECÂNICAS DA PASTA DE CIMENTO EM POÇOS DO PRÉ SALNUNO BANDARRINHA BRANDAO 05 September 2017 (has links)
[en] The quality of the cement sheath plays a crucial role in the integrity of the oil well. This study aims at assessing the influence of cement hardening on deformations and stresses to which the sheath is submitted. A numerical model was developed to simulate the different stages of well construction such as drilling, creep action, casing reconstruction and - the focus herein - cement hardening. The salt creep behavior was modeled through a new methodology that combines the Double Mechanism with the Power Law. Two stages were considered for the cement. First, the cement was idealized as a fluid with a hydrostatic stress field. During the first five hours after cementation, a decrease in the hydrostatic stress field was employed in order to simulate the chemical shrinkage and loss of water in the hardening process. When hardened, the cement was considered to behave elastically with an increasing stiffness modulus over time. In the phase change from fluid to solid, special care was given to fitting the cement finite element mesh to the annulus, avoiding mesh overlapping. The new salt creep law showed accurate results when compared to field and other creep data. In the hardening process, the annular dimension reduction was expected and noticed. The deformation rate decreased with the increasing cement stiffness modulus. Most importantly, this deformation was negligible when compared with the dimensions of the well. Moreover, for practical and quick simulations, the hardening step can be avoided.

[en] AN IRREVERSIBLE PHENOMENOLOGICAL CONSTITUIVE MODEL FOR RHEOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION OF CEMENT PASTES / [pt] UM MODELO CONSTITUTIVO FENOMENOLÓGICO IRREVERSÍVEL PARA DESCRIÇÃO REOLÓGICA DE PASTAS DE CIMENTOELIAS DA CONCEICAO RODRIGUES 20 June 2018 (has links)
O procedimento
[en] The performance of reological protocols usually employed for the rheological characterization of oil well cement slurries is investigated. To this end two cement slurries were employed, namely Paste A and Paste B. The API procedure is addressed and a modification to it is investigated. Flow curves are determined with the aid of a rotational rheometer using three different methods (ramp up/down, ramp down, and minimum-viscosity). The API procedure yielded flow curves that significantly overestimate (Paste A) or underestimate (Paste B) the viscosity throughout the whole range of shear rate. The deviations become particularly dramatic in the low end of this range and for Paste B, clearly because the steady state is not attained due to a thixotropic behavior. The investigated modification to the API procedure resulted in flow curves similar to the ones based on the minimum-viscosity method. A novel irrevesible phenomenological constitutive model is proposed to describe oil well cement slurry rheology under simple shear flow. To this end several rheological experiments were conducted, namely constant shear rate, construction and microstructural destruction experiment. The proposed model employ the fluidity itself, reciprocal of viscosity, to describe the paste s structure evolution. The macroscopical rheological effect of hydration phenomena is introduced in the model by means of a yield stress exponential function. All ten parameters needed in the model are experimentally obtainable. The present results have shown a good agreement between experimental data and modeling, albeit minor differences were observed for low shear rates below 7.1 s(−1).

[pt] A INFLUÊNCIA DE MICRO E NANOFIBRAS DE CELULOSE EM PROPRIEDADES QUÍMICAS, FÍSICAS E MECÂNICAS DE PASTAS DE CIMENTO / [en] THE EFFECT OF MICRO AND NANO CELLULOSE FIBERS ON THE CHEMICAL, PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF CEMENT PASTESLETICIA OLIVEIRA DE SOUZA 06 February 2023 (has links)
Assim, a
A CMM e a
[en] The seek for low environmental impact materials has become one of
the priorities of construction building materials engineers. One of the
reasons is the massive growing contribution of cement production industry
in worldwide CO2 emissions. In this scenario, the dissemination of
nanotechnology into varied areas is drawing attention for enabling new
possibilities. The idea of the present thesis is to associate a material
provided from a natural source with the potential benefits of
nanotechnology to modify conventional cement pastes regarding their
chemical, physical and mechanical aspects. Nanocellulose arises as an
alternative that meets an eco-friendly source with remarkably properties
expected from nanomaterials. There are different types of nano cellulosic
materials that may be tailored to achieve desired compatibilities with varied
cementitious materials. In this work, nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) in the
form of gel, and microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) particles were
investigated, so a comparison could be traced between them. The use of
both NFC and MCC in cementitious materials is recent and there are
important gaps regarding their effect. For that reason, the feasibility of MCC
and NFC to act as reinforcement on cement pastes was evaluated through
compressive and flexural tests. Then, the possible mechanisms behind the
effect of MCC and NFC on the microstructure of cement pastes were
investigated through distinct chemical and physical analyses. Moreover, the
total and autogenous shrinkage were characterized, as well as the dynamic
and static rheological behaviors. Due to rheological modifications, the
mixture of cement pastes with NFC was facilitated by a superplasticizer, especially for percentages higher than 0.050 percent wt. The MCC and NFC
promoted the reinforcement of the cement pastes, regarding flexural and
tensile stresses, increasing the composite strength and modulus. It was
observed that he water present in the NFC gel is not totally available as
mixing water due to the morphology and hydrophilicity of the fibrils. If
associating certain levels of inclusions and water ratio, the NFC inclusion
led to a decrease in autogenous shrinkage. The addition of 0.040 percent of NFC
resulted in similar outcomes to 1.000 percent of MCC regarding their ability to
increase yield stress and viscosity.
