This thesis deals with method of activation of didactic games and its application into the teaching process. It's focused on the theoretical description and also on the practical use in the teaching of the French language. This method is introduced as one of the ways how to practice language in funny form, but also to gain new knowledge and language skills. We will describe its major aspects and also its place in the curriculum documents as well. We will emphasize its benefits, but also the possible difficulties in its application into the teaching of foreign language. We will mention the process of the game and the atmosphere appropriate to it's use too. In the practical part we will focus on the activities which are suitable for level A0 to A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Results of researches on the popularity of mathematics point to the trend of decreasing popularity with the pupils' progression. According to the study of Chvál a stronger decline occurs between the fifth and sixth grades. The presented thesis focuses mainly on what factors of the transition of pupils from the primary to lower-secondary level can influence their attitudes towards mathematics and also on what causes the changes of these attitudes can be named by the pupils of the sixth year. It focuses not only on changes in relation to mathematics, but it also maps the solidarity with the teacher as well as pupils' self- confidence. The research is also concerned with possible changes in the relationship of pupils to mathematics depending on whether they are taught by the Hejny method or not. The research was carried out in the form of questionnaires mapping pupils' attitudes to mathematics and interviews with selected pupils of the schools participating in the research. The sample consisted of 235 pupils in five elementary schools. The complete data was obtained from 161 of them and this data is therefore a substantial part of the results analysis. The subject of the current study is "man as an elementary school teacher". The aim of the thesis is to determine what the role of a male elementary school teacher is and what this role involves. The current study is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the empirical part. The theoretical part includes the description of the teaching profession (the teaching career path, career identity, and personality of the teacher), the relationship between the teacher and the student, and gender issues in the school environment. The core of the theoretical part is the discussion of the previous research from abroad regarding male teachers. The empirical part is a case study of a male elementary school teacher from one of the elementary schools in Prague. The methods used involve interviews with other teachers, questionnaires from parents and a longitudinal observation of the class. The results of the case study are then further extended by statements of eight male teachers from a range of elementary schools in Prague. The study has revealed that one of the aspects of the male teacher's role is "teacher as a friend". The reason for this might be a more liberal style of teaching. This diploma thesis addresses the issue of mutual attitudes among teachers and pupils at the upper-primary-schools. The thesis is based on the assumption that the teacher-student rapport is the significant determinant of the educational process. The aim of the thesis is to determine the factors and the ways of affecting mutual attitudes among pupils and teachers at upper- primary-schools. The theory section of the thesis focuses on the issues of attitudes and of the personality of a pupil and teacher at the upper-primary-school and on the interaction between them. The thesis describes the factors affecting mutual attitudes among pupils and teachers as well as the characterics of adolescent. It also describes the teacher's personality and his role in the educational process. The objective of the research section is to identify the characteristic features of mutual attitudes among teachers and pupils at the upper-primary-schools. As a topic of my thesis I chose Current Methods of Teaching of Initial Reading (with a specific focus on the SFUMATO method). In the theoretical part I deal with the issue of reading literacy in pre-primary and primary education. I also describe the division and development of methods from a historical point of view. Further chapters are devoted to the most used methods of elementary reading teaching at present. In more detail I tried to describe the less well-known methodology of Sfumato. The practical part of my diploma thesis was used as a research probe in teaching using the Sfumato methodology and comparison with control groups in which the analytic-synthetic method and the genetic method are used to teach elementary reading. The results of my work show that the Sfumato methodology can be beneficial for both children and pupils and can help in avoiding unwanted reading habits.

AUTHOR: Anna Marek DEPARTMENT: Department of Mathematics and Didactics of Mathematics LEADING OF TASK: PhDr. Michaela Kaslová ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis deals with the problems of mathematical competitions in the Czech Republic. Mathematical competitions are structured according to pre-selected criteria. On the basis of a comparative analysis of the data obtained from mathematical competitions for elementary schools, it is possible to create a coherent picture of the current situation. With this context, the author advovates a relatively young Pangea mathematical competition. The main objective is to analyze data from the Pangea competition. Particular attention is paid to the tasks for the 4th year of the Pangea Primary School from the school round in the school year 2016/2017. The data obtained from 7 864 solverrs are analyzed both from the point of view of individual tasks and from the point of view of specific phenomena. Based on the data analysis, attention is paid to pupils' responses - the procedures for solving the individual tasks developed by 60 pupils of the 4th year of the 1st degree of non-selected schools. Matematické soutěže jsou charakterizovány strukturovaně dle předem zvolených kritérií. Na základě srovnávací analýzy získaných dat z matematických soutěží pro základní školy je možné si vytvořit ucelenou představu o součastné situaci. Do tohoto kontextu autorka zasazuje relativně mladou matematickou soutěž Pangea. Hlavním cílem je analyzovat data ze soutěže Pangea. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována úlohám pro 4. ročník základní školy soutěže Pangea ze školního kola ve školním roce 2016/2017. Data získaná od 7 864 řešitelů jsou analyzována jak z pohledu jednotlivých úloh, tak z pohledu specifických jevů. The diploma thesis deals with selected aspects of education of individuals with special educational needs - pupils with mental disabilities. The theoretical part of the thesis provides an insight into the life of individuals with mental disabilities, describes problems of the target group from the viewpoint of special pedagogy and from the school's viewpoint. Practical part of the diploma thesis provides an insight into a selected school, to show the positives and the problems through the participants in education - pupils with mental disabilities, teachers and parents. The aim of the research is to characterize problems and situations, and to describe the pitfalls of pupils' education in the selected practical school. In order to achieve the goal, it is necessary to collect information about the education proces in the chosen school, to show the pupils' lives and their problems. Then we can make recommendations on improving pupils' support, including the school environment. The diploma thesis is also intended to support students interested in the education in the school - parents and pupils. In the diploma thesis, the methodology of mixed design was used.
