Данная диссертация посвящена исследованию категории исчисляемости на примере английских существительных singularia tantum. В работе исследуется каким образом эти существительные могут переходить в разряд исчисляемых, рассматриваются особенности этого перехода, в частности семантические сдвиги существительных singularia tantum и оценивается влияние контекста на этот переход. / This thesis is dedicated to the research of the category of countability illustrated by singularia tantum nouns in the English language. The study shows how singularia tantum nouns can move to the class of countable nouns, looks into the characteristics of this transition, especially into the sematic shift of singularia tantum nouns and evaluates the influence of the context on this transition.

Работа посвящена изучению особенностей перевода фразеологических единиц с компонентом антропонимом в составе на базе современной литературы. Материал исследования составили отрывки из произведений Стивена Кинга, Терри Праттчета и Нила Геймана. В Главе 1 мы даем определение понятия фразеологической единицы, рассматриваем основные классификации фразеологизмов (В.В. Виноградов, А.В. Кунин и т.д.) и общепринятые способы перевода. Затем мы рассматриваем место фразеологической единицы в разделе лингвокультурологии и ее особенности, как лингвокультурного феномена. В последнем пункте теоретической части мы разбираем основные способы перевода фразеологических единиц с антропонимом в составе. В Главе 2 данной работы мы проанализируем фразеологические единицы с компонентом антропонимом, взятые из отрывков произведений Стивена Кинга, Терри Праттчета и Нила Геймана, и посмотрим, какие переводческие стратегии были использованы, а также какие лингвокультурные тенденции можно наблюдать на их фоне. Основные выводы, а также практический материал, представленные в работе, могут быть использованы в курсе лексикологии английского языка, а также в курсе теории и практики перевода. / The work is devoted to the study of the features of the translation of phraseological units with an anthroponym component on the basis of modern literature. The material of the study was taken from books of Stephen King, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. In Chapter 1, we define the concept of a phraseological unit, consider the main classifications of phraseological units (V.V. Vinogradov, A.V. Kunin, etc.) and generally accepted methods of translation. Then we consider the place of the phraseological unit in the section of linguoculturology and its features as a linguocultural phenomenon. In the last paragraph of the theoretical part, we analyze the main ways of translating phraseological units with an anthroponym included. In Chapter 2 of the work, we will analyze phraseological units with an anthroponym component, taken from books of Stephen King, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, and observe what translation strategies were applied, and what linguistic and cultural trends can be observed against their background. The main conclusions, as well as practical material presented in the work, can be used in the course of English lexicology, as well as in the course of theory and practice of translation.

This MA thesis is focused on the analysis of stylistic originality of Mykola Bazhan texts of the 1920-30s. The texts are considered in cultural and ideological context of this period, which is a result of a mixture of two artistic and philosophical platforms: avant-garde and socialist realism. Trying to reach this aim I trace the correlation of avant-garde and socialist realism poetic and cultural paradigms in Mykola Bazhan poems, the correlation which defines the stylistic originality of his texts from this period. The introductory chapter presents a detailed analysis of the development of Ukrainian literature in the late 19th - early 20th century. I focus on modernist and then on avant-garde movements and literature groups. One part of the MA thesis is dedicated to literary theory - I attempt to apply basic terms like "modernism", "avant-garde", "socialist realism", etc. to the area of my research. Another problem discussed is the change of Bazhan's approach to the communist ideology during several periods of his career. After that the dissertation shifts to philological and cultural analysis of several chosen poems of Mykola Bazhan in historical, philological and ideological contexts which were discussed in the previous chapters of my work. Работа посвящена изучению контекста и гипертекста в рассказах о свадьбах. В рамках данной работы исследуются нарративы о свадьбе участников обряда, а также материалы по семейной истории, где свадьба предстает как рассказ в памяти второго и третьего поколений, что является актуальным направлением исследования на сегодняшний день анализ нарративов позволяет увидеть «внутренние» стороны обряда, познакомиться с рефлексией информанта по поводу событий на свадьбе и своих чувств, попытаться понять и проанализировать механизмы обрядовой памяти, а также отрефлексировать заданные самим исследователем контексты. / The work is devoted to the study of context and hypertext in stories about weddings. Within the framework of this work, narratives about the wedding of the participants of the ceremony are studied, as well as materials on family history, where the wedding appears as a story in the memory of the second and third generations, which is an actual direction of research today, the analysis of narratives allows you to see the "inner" sides of the ceremony, to get acquainted with the reflection of the informant about the events at the wedding and their feelings, to try to understand and analyze the mechanisms of ritual memory, as well as to reflect on the contexts set by the researcher himself.

<p>Поред великог значаја контекстуалних информација при разумевању<br />говора, њихова обрада и употреба у савременим системима за<br />аутоматско препознавање говора је веома ограничена, што знатно<br />нарушава перформансе препознавања у реалним условима употребе.<br />Стога, уколико желимо да се карактеристике ових система приближе<br />људским, неопходно је укључити контекст у адекватном обиму.<br />У овој тези је представљен нови методолошки приступ контекстно<br />зависном препознавању говора у интеракцији између човека и машине.<br />На методолошком нивоу, овај приступ је хибридан, јер интегрише<br />статистичке и симболичке методе, и когнитивно инспирисан, јер узима у<br />обзир увиде у резулатате ис траживања из области неурокогнитивних<br />наука. Основни принцип је да се оцењивање хипотеза система за<br />препознавање врши на основу њихове контекстуалне усклађености,<br />информационог садржаја и семантичке исправности.<br />Приступ је илустрован прототипским имплементацијама за конкретне<br />домене интеракције.</p> / <p>Pored velikog značaja kontekstualnih informacija pri razumevanju<br />govora, njihova obrada i upotreba u savremenim sistemima za<br />automatsko prepoznavanje govora je veoma ograničena, što znatno<br />narušava performanse prepoznavanja u realnim uslovima upotrebe.<br />Stoga, ukoliko želimo da se karakteristike ovih sistema približe<br />ljudskim, neophodno je uključiti kontekst u adekvatnom obimu.<br />U ovoj tezi je predstavljen novi metodološki pristup kontekstno<br />zavisnom prepoznavanju govora u interakciji između čoveka i mašine.<br />Na metodološkom nivou, ovaj pristup je hibridan, jer integriše<br />statističke i simboličke metode, i kognitivno inspirisan, jer uzima u<br />obzir uvide u rezulatate is traživanja iz oblasti neurokognitivnih<br />nauka. Osnovni princip je da se ocenjivanje hipoteza sistema za<br />prepoznavanje vrši na osnovu njihove kontekstualne usklađenosti,<br />informacionog sadržaja i semantičke ispravnosti.<br />Pristup je ilustrovan prototipskim implementacijama za konkretne<br />domene interakcije.</p> / <p>Although the importance of contextual information in speech recognition has<br />been acknowledged for a long time now, it remained clearly underutilized<br />even in state-of-the-art speech recognition systems. This thesis introduces a<br />novel, methodologically hybrid approach to the research question of contextdependent<br />speech recognition in human-machine interaction. To the extent<br />that it is hybrid, the approach integrates aspects of both statistical and<br />representational paradigms. The aim of this thesis is to extend the standard<br />statistical pattern matching approach with a cognitively-inspired and<br />analytically tractable model with explanatory power. This methodological<br />extension allows for accounting for contextual information which is otherwise<br />unavailable in speech recognition systems, and using it to improve postprocessing<br />of recognition hypotheses. The thesis introduces an algorithm for<br />evaluation of recognition hypotheses, illustrates it for concrete interaction<br />domains, and discusses its implementation within two prototype<br />conversational agents.</p>

The master’s thesis is devoted to the comparison operators as and like, comparison being their first and basic meaning. Over the course of time they have undergone various metaphorical transfers, which have led to their polysemy. According to the authors of dictionaries and English grammars, the word as can function as a conjunction (denoting comparison, time, cause, condition, concession, manner, purpose), preposition, adverb, pronoun. As regards the word like, it can function as a conjunction, preposition, particle, adverb (discourse marker). The author attempts to present the diachronic sense development of the two lexemes with the help of etymological dictionaries and books on the history of English. The word as is described as a precedent linguistic unit, which involves the transfer of meaning from basic comparison to new situations. The thesis examines the pragmatic and socio-linguistic aspects of the development of the word like, as they are presented in the works of Russian and foreign linguists. The peculiarities of grammaticalization and subjectification of the English word like, owing to which it has acquired the function of a discourse marker, are also described. The following pragmatic functions are identified: metalinguistic, emphatic, hesitational, quotative, examplificatory, approximative. The thesis also presents a comparative analysis of the usage of the words as and like in fiction and scientific prose (with reference to the British novel Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding and the journal Nature). / Магистерская диссертация посвящена исследованию английских служебных слов as и like как инструментов логической операции сравнения. Сравнение является их понятийной основой, из которой развились другие значения, в частности, на основе метафорического переноса. Обе единицы обладают широкой семантикой и выполняют множество функций. Согласно авторам словарей и английских грамматик, слово as может функционировать как союз (сравнения, времени, причины, условия, уступки, образа действия, цели), предлог, наречие, местоимение. Слово like может выполнять функции союза, предлога, частицы, наречия (дискурсивного маркера). Предпринята попытка выстроить порядок развития значений двух единиц с привлечением данных этимологических словарей и работ по истории английского языка. В диссертации доказывается статус слова as как прецедентной грамматической единицы, в которой реализуется грамматическая метафора и происходит перенос базового значения сравнения на новые ситуации. Рассматриваются прагматические и социолингвистические аспекты развития слова like, как они представлены в работах отечественных и зарубежных лингвистов. Особое внимание уделяется особенностям грамматикализации и субъектификации данной единицы, вследствие которых она приобрела функции дискурсивного маркера. Отмечаются такие прагматические функции like, как металингвистическая, эмфатическая, функция заполнения хезитационной паузы, функция введения в предложение прямой речи, примера, примерного количества. Кроме того, проводится сопоставительный анализ функционирования слов as и like в английской художественной и научной прозе (на материале романа Хелен Филдинг «Bridget Jones’s Diary» и научно-популярного журнала «Nature»).

Переводы, не учитывающие культурные особенности, оказываются слабыми и мало отражающими писательский замысел. Самую большую трудность вызывают не языковые различия, но элементы культуры, представляющие внеязыковую реальность, связанную с внутренними проявлениями культуры. Существующая концепция принципиальной непереводимости и вовсе говорит о том, что невозможно перевести что-либо с одного языка на другой из-за существующих лингвистических и культурных различий. Данная работа направлена на то, чтобы показать возможность адекватной передачи культурного контекста в переводе на примере публикаций произведений Н. В. Гоголя в Японии. / Translations, which are not culturally sensitive, are weak and little reflect the writer's intent. The greatest challenge is not only the language differences, but elements of culture, which represents extra-linguistic reality associated with the internal’s manifestations of culture. The concept of principled untranslatability suggests that it is impossible to translate anything from one language to another because of linguistic and cultural differences. This work is going to demonstrate the possibility of an adequate cultural context transfer in translation using the example of N.V. Gogol’s publications in Japan.

<p>Циљ ове докторске дисертације је да<br />допринесе ученичким компетенцијама у<br />основној и средњој школи при читању,<br />доживљавању и тумачењу лирских народних<br />песама. Тема је актуелна јер садржај ове<br />поезије сублимира све аспекте културе<br />омогућавајући сагледавање и разумевање<br />традицијског и културолошког контекста<br />српске књижевности; пружа теоријски оквир;<br />критичку анализу, истраживања научног и<br />уметничког садржаја и иновативна решења<br />пренесена на дидактичко&ndash;педагошку праксу.<br />Полазећи од савремених научних<br />достигнућа, интердисциплинарности и<br />актуелних методичких приступа настави,<br />сагледане су специфичности ове врсте<br />народног стваралаштва. Очекује се<br />унапређивање наставе у области изучавања народних лирских песама кроз боље</p><p>разумевање обредног и обичајног слоја,<br />историјског и социјалног слоја у песмама.<br />Инсистирањем на претпоставкама савремене<br />наставе отвара се могућност да се<br />&bdquo;придобије&ldquo; ученик за читање, доживљавање<br />и тумачење, као и креативно стварање<br />засновано на пулсиру синкретичности,<br />формулативности, функционалности и<br />животворности народних лирских песама.<br />Акценат је стављен на значењској<br />димензији текста чији се вишеслојни и<br />вишезначни поетски свет доживљава и<br />критички вреднуј кроз истраживачко и<br />стваралачко приступање наставном процесу.<br />У раду су представљена свеобухватна<br />методолошка полазишта и осмишљени су<br />методички поступци који сведоче о<br />целовитости народне лирске поезије и њеном<br />сагласју које онемогућава чврсту<br />класификацију.<br />На конкретним примерима песама<br />заснивају се методичке интерпретације с<br />коментарима који показују како се са<br />ученицима основношколског и<br />средњошколског узраста може засновати<br />савремена, научно заснована наставна и<br />ваннаставна интерпретација народних<br />лирских песама.<br />Технички рад се састоји из шест<br />целина.</p> / <p>Cilj ove doktorske disertacije je da<br />doprinese učeničkim kompetencijama u<br />osnovnoj i srednjoj školi pri čitanju,<br />doživljavanju i tumačenju lirskih narodnih<br />pesama. The topic is<br />current because the content of this poetry<br />sublimates all cultural aspects, making it possible<br />to assess and understand the traditional and<br />cultural context of Serbian literature, and it<br />provides a theoretical framework, as well as a<br />critical analysis, of the exploration of the<br />scientific and artistic content and the innovative<br />solutions applied in didactic and pedagogical<br />practices.<br />The specifics of this kind of folk creativity are<br />analyzed, taking modern scientific<br />achievements, interdisciplinary and<br />contemporary methodical approaches to teaching<br />as the starting point. The expectation is that an<br />improvement of teaching will be achieved in the<br />field of the study of lyrical folk poems through a<br />better understanding of the ritual and customary<br />layer, and the historical and social layer in<br />poems. By insisting on assumptions of modern<br />teaching methods the possibility is created to<br />&ldquo;win over&ldquo; the student to reading, experiencing<br />and interpreting, and creativity based on the<br />pulsating of syncretism, formativeness,<br />functionality and life&ndash;giving quality of lyrical<br />folk poems.<br />The emphasis is placed on the semantic<br />dimension of the text whose poetic world, with<br />multiple layers and multiple meanings, is<br />experienced and critically evaluated through an<br />exploratory and creative approach to the teaching<br />process. The paper presents comprehensive<br />methodological starting points and designed<br />methodical procedures, testifying to the<br />comprehensiveness of lyrical folk poetry and its<br />harmony, which renders hard classification<br />impossible.<br />The methodical interpretations are based on<br />concrete examples of poems, with comments that<br />show how a modern, scientifically based<br />teaching and extracurricular interpretation of<br />lyrical folk poems can be established with<br />elementary and secondary school students.<br />Technically the paper consists of six sections.</p>
