全文一冊，總約三十萬字；分為四章十三節。「緒言」究明中共所走馬列社會主義道 路不同於各家社會主義的特點；陳述研究動機在於探求中共路線政策的基本線索；確 認中共政權之建立只是其走上社會主義道路的起點；劃定其後的歷史、路線、政策綜 合層面作為研究範圍，從中抽出中共各派都必須處理的「共同問題」作為具體研究對 象，並即以之分列為第一章：「過渡」的理論與中共的探索；第二章：無產階級專政 與統一戰線；第三章：社會主義公有制與非社會主義私有制；第四章：「中國式社會 主義道路」的再探索。「結論」剖析中共當前「體制改革」的共義，同時彰明「中國 往何處去」問題，早有明確答案；中共在馬列社會主義道路上，枉言探索，實為迷惘 。
