A construção da violência e da morte nas capas dos jornais Agora São Paulo e Folha de S. Paulo /

Portari, Rodrigo Daniel Levoti. January 2009 (has links)
A dissertação faz uma análise de imagens das capas dos jornais, observando, inicialmente, a face física da violência / Abstract: The study aims to show how the newspapers Folha de S.Paulo and Agora São Paulo, both the property of the group Folhas da Manhã, reconstruct the same stories related to violence and death on their first pages. Since different target audience, the same story gets different treatments to address your readers directly. To go this route, use the Theories of Media and the Semiotics of Culture. As the violence and death of the life or any person, the newspapers also seek rescue through stories and images, the need to live with death. The dissertation analyzes the images of the covers of newspapers, noting, initially, the face of physical violence / Mestre

Combining web data mining techniques for web page access prediction

Khalil, Faten January 2008 (has links)
[Abstract]: Web page access prediction gained its importance from the ever increasing number of e-commerce Web information systems and e-businesses. Web page prediction, that involves personalising the Web users’ browsing experiences, assists Web masters in the improvement of the Web site structure and helps Web users in navigating the site and accessing the information they need. The most widely used approach for this purpose is the pattern discovery process of Web usage mining that entails many techniques like Markov model, association rules and clustering. Implementing pattern discovery techniques as such helps predict the next page tobe accessed by theWeb user based on the user’s previous browsing patterns. However, each of the aforementioned techniques has its own limitations, especiallywhen it comes to accuracy and space complexity. This dissertation achieves better accuracy as well as less state space complexity and rules generated by performingthe following combinations. First, we combine low-order Markov model and association rules. Markov model analysis are performed on the data sets. If the Markov model prediction results in a tie or no state, association rules are used for prediction. The outcome of this integration is better accuracy, less Markov model state space complexity and less number of generated rules than using each of the methods individually. Second, we integrate low-order Markov model and clustering. The data sets are clustered and Markov model analysis are performed oneach cluster instead of the whole data sets. The outcome of the integration is better accuracy than the first combination with less state space complexity than higherorder Markov model. The last integration model involves combining all three techniques together: clustering, association rules and low-order Markov model. The data sets are clustered and Markov model analysis are performed on each cluster. If the Markov model prediction results in close accuracies for the same item, association rules are used for prediction. This integration model achievesbetter Web page access prediction accuracy, less Markov model state space complexity and less number of rules generated than the previous two models.

L'utilisation de pages WEB par les sites du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO : vers l'émergence d'une culture identitaire mondiale?

Daoust, Annie January 2007 (has links) (PDF)

The study of benthic community structure and protein expression pattern of four benthic species in effluent areas of sewage treatment plants (STP) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Candra, Dwi 06 September 2011 (has links)
The study of benthic community structure and protein expression pattern of four benthic species in effluent areas of sewage treatment plants in Kaohsiung, Taiwan Dwi Candra Pratiwi Advisor: Dr. Li-Lian Liu Institute of Marine Biology, National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, R.O.C. Abstract In order to gain better understanding on the impacts of sewage treatment plant (STP) effluent on marine environment, the present study was undertaken to investigate the structure of benthic community and protein expression patterns of 4 benthic species in STP effluent areas in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Six sites were selected, 3 near Jhong Jhou STP, 2 near NSYSU STP and one reference site. Samples were collected in December 2009 (winter) and July 2010 (summer) by bottom trawling. In winter, temperature was 26.8oC; salinity and pH were 32. 2‰ and 8.1. In summer, environmental data were 33.7oC, 31.5‰ and 8.0, respectively. In all, 5 phyla, 31 families and 48 different species were captured in two seasons. Proteomic approach by one-dimensional sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (1D SDS-PAGE) was conducted on 3 fishes, Leiognathus splendens, Apogon fasciatus, Engyprosopon multisquama, and one crab Portunus hastatoides. Environment characteristics and structure of benthic community had no significant difference among the 6 sampling sites. Protein expression patterns based on the four examined species also indicated no significant difference among sites. The complexity of pollutants in Kaohsiung Harbor is probably the main reason affecting all sampling sites. In other words, contaminated area in Kaohsiung Harbor may cover a wide range, at least III over the present sampling distance, i.e. 8km which causes no difference in community structure and protein expression pattern among control, Jhong Jhou STP and NSYSU STP sites. Key words: 1D SDS-PAGE, Leiognathus splendens, Apogon fasciatus, Engyprosopon multisquama, Portunus hastatoides

The research on the operation pattern of virtual community: Using Facebook page as an example

Lin, Yi-Chieh 07 July 2012 (has links)
Ever since the virtual community boom that aroused by Facebook, almost every industry began to take interest in starting their own Facebook Page. Armstrong & Hagel III(1996) indicated that virtual community breaks the balance of commercial trade by giving the customers more power, while at the same time helps the industry to deepen and broaden their customer relationship, making those who are good at using the new power of customer benefits from it. That is to say that in the free market of internet, minority market can be served more easily and effectively, while the majority market has gradually become the market combination of several niches (Chris A., 2006).Virtual community also changed the business rule, allowing the small enterprise to challenge the big ones (Armstrong & Hagel III,1996). This study tries to find out the common and unique business patterns by doing research study and categorizing the current usage of Facebook Page, so the managers can have a reference to adjust their method accordingly, and so further study can be build upon it. In this rising boom of virtual community, what are the strategies behind it? Can those strategies really attract the fans to the Facebook page and allow the fans to participate in it? Observation method was adopted in this research to analyze the Facebook page in Taiwan. Data were collected according to different trades, in order to analyze how the four motivations: information, assistance, recreation and social interaction work in the virtual community. The unique strategy and its affect will be discussed, and relative studies will be reviewed to see if there is a better way to attract the attention of the fans. This study shows that there are unique strategies adopted in different trades for the difference of the fans, and there are improvement needed in those business patterns. As the conclusion, four advices are raised in this study: increase the searching accessibility, provide complete data, adopt the link of Facebook Page wisely, and appropriate article length. So the managers can have a reference to adjust their method accordingly, and so further study can be build upon it.

Content Analysis of The Performance of Online Auction Web-pages¢wTaking Yahoo! Kimo Bid Website as Example

Huang, Chiao-Chu 23 January 2008 (has links)
Following the rapid development of the electronic commercial (EC) market, the circumstance of purchasing products and services on the Internet in Taiwan with substantially growing trend has become more mature. According to a marketing research report, it is expected that more retailers and consumers will enter the online-auction market in 2007. In the aspect of consumer behavior, the habits of consumers searching and purchasing products are gradually going to be shaped up, and a flood of individual sellers are joining into the competition at the online-auction seeking the opportunity for selling their products. In the past researches, it is found that the study focused on online auction sellers is limited. This research tries to combine FCB Grid and four features to build a website to preliminarily analyze and explore how the professional retailers present the product pages in Yahoo!Kimo online auction interface for the purpose of examining whether there are different product performing ways from other EC websites. In addition, we also discuss about whether there is any discrepancy over product performance and ERP due to products¡¦ characteristics. The research takes the advantage of using content analysis method and drawing 392 samples totally from 18 categories in Yahoo!Kimo online auction platform for study. All samples¡¦ accumulated scores have to over 1000 and rank the top 25 in each category. In each sample, 4 web pages including virtual storefront, about sellers, product, and evaluation have to be drawn to the accumulation. In total, there are 392 selected samples covering 18 categories. As a result of this research, we find that the highly emotional involving products have the highest accumulated positive/negative evaluation scores on an average. However, there¡¦s no difference while facing trading problems revealed in the negative evaluation. Theses sellers put more emphasis on rational appeals such as relating truth, solving problems, and using recommendations by consumers. Some also use emotional appeals which tend to create an overall image of the storefront. In addition, the sellers of highly emotional involving products are more than happy to mention the ego gratification and social acceptance. On the other hand, appeals which were often exercised in traditional media advertisement seldom appear in online auction website. Compared with other researches, the auction sellers apply huge amount of product information. The categories of information are affected by the online auction platform. From the websites of professional sellers, four concrete features are also concluded. First, sellers use pictures to develop the value of products. Second, the well-known brand awareness of a product is not the main factor to be successful in online auction platform, instead creating sellers¡¦ own brand images. Third, sellers provide sufficient social clues, but seldom refer to the rights of protecting consumers¡¦ private information. Fourth, affected by the Internet, they make good use of sales promotion such as e-paper, discount, and product warrant. Finally, the research also describes four kinds of product webpage features and makes a concrete recommendation concerning building product web pages for sellers who want to contribute to long term business in online auction.

Malicious Web Page Detection Based on Anomaly Behavior

Tsai, Wan-yi 04 February 2009 (has links)
Because of the convenience of the Internet, we rely closely on the Internet to do information searching and sharing, forum discussion, and online services. However, most of the websites we visit are developed by people with limited security knowledge, and this condition results in many vulnerabilities in web applications. Unfortunately, hackers have successfully taken advantage of these vulnerabilities to inject malicious JavaScript into compromised web pages to trigger drive-by download attacks. Based on our long time observation of malicious web pages, malicious web pages have unusual behavior for evading detection which makes malicious web pages different form normal ones. Therefore, we propose a client-side malicious web page detection mechanism named Web Page Checker (WPC) which is based on anomaly behavior tracing and analyzing to identify malicious web pages. The experimental results show that our method can identify malicious web pages and alarm the website visitors efficiently.
