In this thesis, avifauna in a town has been determined in detail, particularly the influence of the structure of urban green spaces on diversity of bird species. The study was conducted in a small spa town. We examined the influence of urban-rural gradient, density of buildings, and species composition and spatial structure of vegetation on the composition of the avifauna. We also assessed what social benefit for residents and visitors of the spa town comes from birdsong. The second part of this thesis deals with urban greenery in terms of positive impact on human well-being. The survey is applied to the chateau parks, especially visitor´s satisfaction, their ability to perceive diversity, their preferences, and evaluation of elements in the park.

SUMMARY This Master's thesis deals with design to the completion of selected urban area specifically at the Hôrka Park in Veľký Krtíš. It is the study of an urban park creation made by various successive steps - from finding and processing a literature review on similar issues, through the analytical part of the territory, to the final design solution. The objective of the design is to create a quality public space, which becomes the green background of the city and to create the conditions for more efficient use according to current social demands. It is a city park for all that combines natural character with the modern. It will provide attractivity with flexibility including mobility and movement in space through the usage of terrain, vegetation cover and the sight structures. In summary, the study design solution converts Hôrka Park to the city park which fits into the structure of the city. It will also make the city more attractive and it will increase its quality and a recreational potential as well.

The objective of this theses was to conduct an inventory of the trees in the Čeřovka urban forest of the city of Jičín. Collected data were entered into the inventory table which contains information about taxon, girth, stem diameter, hight of individuals, hight of the crown's origin, diameter of the crown, growth stage, age estimate, health condition, vitality, gardening value and damage. Having regard to the above mentioned, I suggested the measures to improve the operational safety and the condition of the trees and I drew a layout of the individuals and groups of trees. The project also includes mapping of the public furniture and path and track network with suggestions for improvements. The thesis will provide The Jičín´s Municipal office a background for management of the urban forest.
