Hladíková, Monika January 2009 (has links)
Architectonic and urbanistic concept The designed area is placed in the rural zone of the village Mikulčice and in the rural zone of the village Kopčany. This area has a big potencial in its cultural and historical values as well as in the natural ones. The connection of the pure and very original nature with a very strong historical value gives the region its very own authentic character and amplifies the experience of the visitor. This reagion was declared as a cultural heritage in 1962 and yet it is nominated to the World heritage list UNESCO. Its rich history and archeological discoveries gave an idea to built here a congress center. The congress center is situated in the natural enviroment where it presents the ruined churches and also the archeological discoveries. The goal of this project is to attract attention of the public. To enriche the knowledge of the public and to connect both sides of the river Morava by a bridge. The idea is to preserve the woods and meadows in the horizontal like region and to enter the landscape with a similar composition. The building itself is situated to the north of the ground plans of the churches, in historical path of the authentic waterway around the stronghold site. Its shape is inspired by a boat which reflects the waterway and the heritage of st.Cyril and st.Method who passed on to us the teachings of the Church. This is symbolised as large boats carrying the people to the everlasting salvation. The topic of the „path“ reminds us of our pilgrimage through the neverending sea of time. The values which our ancestors passed on to us and which we will pass on to our children. The bridge which overcomes this building can be a notional connection beetween the history and the present days. These are undoubtedly linked together and we should not forget it.

Holas, Jakub January 2012 (has links)
Two slabs, two volumes. Pedestal versus overhanged mass of library itself. Tectonic principle column-architrave unites with Le Corbusier's Dom-ino, the contstruction is fully readable. The upper volume of the library dominates by its inner space as well. That one is bright, clear and open space, modulated by the furnishings only. It enables to create generous space as well as intimate corners. Variability is inevitable in nowadays era of digitalization, when the requirements of libraries change dramatically.

Matrtaj, Marek January 2012 (has links)
The rehabilitation of the former Jaselská barracks aims to create a place with a clear identity within the city context. A green axis connects the urban-planning elements – the city house and dwellings in the park, and unites the newly built structure. The work elaborates on the park dwellings, which are characterised by a low-rise structure whilst keeping the density of a city block. Proportion suited to the human needs, simple spatial and architectural language and a gradient of public and private spaces are the key elements of this design.

The mammals of Zion National Park with emphasis on ecology and distribution of twelve species of rodents

Gardner, Paul A. 21 July 1977 (has links)
Information concerning the mammals of Zion National Park was needed for management purposes and general information. During the summers of 1975 and 1976, mammals observed throughout the park were recorded and habitat structure was measured for each animal at the immediate observation site. Ordinations based on stepwise discriminant analyses of the data on 12 rodent species were constructed and substantiated by Bray-Curtis analyses. The results showed that amounts of cover and boulders contrasted the habitats of Peromyscus eremicus, P. maniculatus, P. crinitus, P. boylii and P. truei. A second group of species--Eutamias minimus, E. umbrinus, Spermophilus variegatus, Tamiasciurus hudsonicus, Dipodomys merriami, Neotoma lepida and Microtus longicaudus--were discriminated by amounts of litter, grass and trees in the habitat of each species. A list of mammalian species found within Zion and suggestions for further study are given.

Steele, John A. (John Armin) 05 1900 (has links)
This thesis records data on the development of The Park Boulevard Players, Plano, Texas, as an innovative school district theatre arts program. Data is organized to illustrate program growth based on educational and performance needs of involved students and community citizens. It proves that high school students are capable of producing summer entertainment worthy of community viewing. Being original in form and content, this thesis should serve as a resourceful guide for similar programs. The thesis contains five chapters arranged in chronological order. After Chapter I, Introduction, three chapters span three separate company seasons: June, 1978; June, 1979; June, 1981. The final chapter summarizes the program and presents evaluations and conclusions.
