The diploma thesis „The Benefits of Optimizing Inventory Management in Relation to the Installation“ streamlining the production process by optimizing the supply of production. The basis of this work is the analysis of the company with respect to supply the selected installation type. The work conatins a proposed solution, based on analysis of business results and theoretical knowledge.

This thesis deals with control of stock in an inventory, focusing on inventory placement. The purpose of this thesis is to reduce the transport distance within the main stock house while gathering inventory. This will be achieved by reconstructing the inventory placement in consideration with how frequently the inventories get picked and mass of the inventory. In particular, the literature and the data that is collected from the company´s business system have laid the foundation for the thesis. In general, interviews and observations also contributed to the data collection. To fulfill the aim and to produce arbitrary results, two issues have been developed regarding which attributes that should determine the position of the inventory in the stock house and how to obtain a more effective inventory structure? The authors have jointly produced a result of suggestions for future inventory placement in terms of picking frequency and weight. Initially a situation analysis was conducted to identify known problems with the inventory´s placement and storage systems. The problems that were identified were that the inventory placement has no consideration regarding picking frequency. To determine the most frequent picked inventory an ABC analysis was conducted. All of the inventories were spread out throughout the whole stock house. To take in account, the additional criterion, which was weight, a multi-criteria analysis was performed in combination with the ABC analysis. The results of the combined analysis provided that the basis for drawing up concepts for future inventory placement. The proposal includes optimized inventory placements in different zones of the most frequently picked inventory with weight as an additional criterion. / Arbetet behandlar området lagerstyrning med inriktning på optimering av artikelplacering. Syftet med arbetet är att minska transportsträckor inom centrallagret, detta genom en omstrukturerad artikelplacering med hänsyn till plockfrekvens och tyngd. I synnerhet har litteratur samt insamlad data från företagets affärssystem lagt grunden för arbetet. I allmänhet har intervjuer och observationer också bidragit till datainsamling. För att uppfylla arbetets syfte och ta fram ett godtyckligt resultat har två frågeställningar tagits fram angående vilka attribut som bör avgöra en artikels position i lagret samt hur en effektivare lagerstruktur kan erhållas. Författarna har gemensamt arbetat fram ett resultat i form av ett förslag för framtida artikelplacering sett till plockfrekvens och tyngd. Inledningsvis genomfördes en nulägesanalys för att identifiera kända problem med artikelplacering och lagersystem. De problem som identifierades var att artikelplaceringen sker utan underlag för plockfrekvens. För att utröna de mest frekventa artiklarna genomfördes en ABC-analys. Samtliga artiklar lokaliserades utspridda över hela lagret. För att ta hänsyn till ytterligare ett kriterium, vilket var tyngd, genomfördes multikriterieanalys i kombination med ABC-analys. Resultatet av den kombinerade analysen gav underlag för att ta fram förslag för framtida artikelplacering. Förslaget innehåller optimerade artikelplaceringar inom olika zoner för de mest plockfrekventa artiklarna med tyngd som ytterligare kriterium.

A high level of delivery precision from a focal firm to their customers has the potential to provide competitive advantage amongst competing businesses. This report will detail the subject of inventory management and utilize theories on the subject in order to provide recommendations to a multinational company that wishes to increase their delivery precision. The results of the work conducted are presented and recommendations given in the form of firstly analyzing inventory and segregating the product range where applicable. This should be treated as the first priority to gain an insight into where potential problem areas lie and to determine the products that are the biggest contributors to the overall value of goods sold. As a secondary measure, managing supplier relations carefully and the strategic sourcing of materials are strategies that will help to effectively reduce problems through increased visibility of information in communication channels. An accurate demand forecasting model will predict demand ahead of time, ensuring that the correct products are being held as inventory for no longer than is strictly needed, with a safety stock system being used as a safety net for those products that are suitable. A theoretical implementation of exponential II smoothing based forecasting coupled with standard deviation based safety stock calculations, yields results that effectively raises delivery precision. By forecasting demand for individual months and using calculated safety stock levels, the model is able to adjust for the shortfall between forecasted demand and actual demand.

The thesis deals with minimizing of the inventory of finished products in the ceramic industry. To reduce inventory the ABC and XYZ analysis was used for the sorting of products into the groups and particular ways were suggested to reduce inventories of finished products. In the theoretical part are described the theoretical assumptions for inventory management issues such as costs, demand, or different methods of inventory management. Then the technological process of production of ceramic tiles follows. In the practical part, entire knowledge of the theory is applied to the problems of ceramic tiles production in LASSELSBERGER, Ltd. It concerns specifically about 1284 products analyzed by using ABC and XYZ methods. Proposed methods and their effect on saving of storage space (storage space saving) were compared afterwards. The result of the work is a comprehensive product portfolio analysis of LASSELSBERGER, Ltd. indicating to company management, which economy measures will ensure the highest costs saving.

The work deals with the management of stocks in a particular company. With the help of available literature focuses on the baseline situation in the company, describes the current system of inventory management of raw materials and proposes measures to improve the management of stocks in the selected raw materials warehouse. The aim of work is to change the current system in order to reduce the average physical stock, and thus a reduction in funds tied in stocks of raw materials. The basic thesis is ABC analysis of stock items made in the warehouse of raw materials.

Thesis on the theme "The Management Of Stock Of Spare Parts Logistics Chains" deals with the specification of logistic chains, spare parts inventory management and functioning of these chains. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of the theoretical background needed to understand the functioning of these chains. It ranges from the definition of the logistics chain, through ABC analysis to the detailed characteristics of the chain of spare parts. Besides a general overview the thesis includes example from real practice. In the practical section, through simulation models thesis presents the operation and management of the spare parts logistics chains. The practical section shows the simulation model of the current situation and compares it with the model after the introduction of stock management in the company.

The diploma work is focused on a store layout optimization and the related areas. The work is divided into four parts where the first three parts described the theoretical thesis. The first chapter is about the marketing theory -- a customer's behavioral rules in a retail store and a correct store layout. The second chapter is based on the logistics theory and describes the methods of a range of goods categorization according to the different views. The third chapter is focused on the operations research theory and the assignment problem's models. The last chapter describes in detail a real example workflow -- the store layout optimization for Linde Gas Company. The objective is identification of the lucrative areas in the stores, the sold range of goods analysis and the creation of the store layout which will respect a customer's behavioral rules and which will also promote the sales of the selected goods.

This Master's thesis focuses on chosen logistic processes of the specific e-shop. In the theoretical part, the specific environment of e-shops is described. This part also contains theoretical base for providers of courier, express and parcel services. The practical part of the thesis is divided into two parts. The first one shows ABC analysis and its suitability for the chosen entity. In the other part, sent parcels are analyzed, focusing on its structure and frequency. In the conclusion of the paper, there is an evaluation of benefits from the proceedings taken during the elaboration of this thesis.

The thesis is inquiring into theory of reverse logistics, its processes are demonstrated on the example of the company Becker Bohemia s.r.o. The aim of the thesis is to define the position and function of reverse logistics in supply chain and its description on the basis of activities of a company that deals with waste collection. The research is divided into 3 theoretical chapters and one practital chapter. The theoretical part introduces the selected topic. The practical part presents Becker Bohemia s.r.o. at first, followed by a description of its technical base and the processes handling with different types of waste. The conclusion of the practical part is devoted to an analysis of the grounds of the company.
