Estimativa da pose da cabeça em imagens monoculares usando um modelo no espaço 3D / Estimation of the head pose based on monocular images

Ramos, Yessenia Deysi Yari January 2013 (has links)
This dissertation presents a new method to accurately compute the head pose in mono cular images. The head pose is estimated in the camera coordinate system, by comparing the positions of specific facial features with the positions of these facial features in multiple instances of a prior 3D face model. Given an image containing a face, our method initially locates some facial features, such as nose, eyes, and mouth; these features are detected and located using an Adaptive Shape Model for faces , this algorithm was trained using on a data set with a variety of head poses. For each face, we obtain a collection of feature locations (i.e. points) in the 2D image space. These 2D feature locations are then used as references in the comparison with the respective feature locations of multiple instances of our 3D face model, projected on the same 2D image space. To obtain the depth of every feature point, we use the 3D spatial constraints imposed by our face model (i.e. eyes are at a certain depth with respect to the nose, and so on). The head pose is estimated by minimizing the comparison error between the 3D feature locations of the face in the image and a given instance of the face model (i.e. a geometrical transformation of the face model in the 3D camera space). Our preliminary experimental results are encouraging, and indicate that our approach can provide more accurate results than comparable methods available in the literature.

Bruna Catarino Xavier 18 April 2017 (has links)
The Araçuaí Orogen corresponds the northern part of the Mantiqueira Province, which can be divided into three different structural domains. These areas are involved in thrust systems towards the west and east. The western part corresponds to the Mylonites Domain, constituted by high temperature mylonitic gneisses, the Central Domain is characterized by a huge tonalitic, granodioritic and granitic magmatism dated around 580 Ma, and, the eastern area, described as Anatexis Domain where the Carlos Chagas Leucogranite (CC) is the predominant lithology. The Galiléia Suite constituting by the St. Vitor and Galiléia tonalites, Aimorés Suites, by the Caladão Granite and the Padre Paraíso Charnockite, all theses suites belong to the Central Domain. The Aimorés Suite and the western border of the Carlos Chagas Leucogranite are the focus of this Master thesis, which the goals are a structural study based on Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility (AMS) and a geochronological analysis using U/Pb in zircon and monazite and Lu/Hf in zircon methodologies. The petrographic analysis shows the Caladão Granite as porphyritic granite, with a thick granulation matrix composed of quartz, feldspar, hornblende and biotite. The feldspar crystals can reach 2 to 5 centimeters in size. The Padre Paraíso Charnockite is hypersthene granite; greenish-colored matrix with a coarse granulation composed of quartz, feldspar, hypersthene, biotite and hornblende, the feldspar crystals size can be bigger than 5 centimeters. The Carlos Chagas Leucogranite has medium to coarse granulation that is constituted by quartz, feldspar, biotite, sillimanite, cordierite and garnet, the mineralogy typical of type S granite. Structural analysis using the AMS showed variable magnetic foliation orientations in distinct sectors of the magmatic bodies, compatible with the spatial trend of the pluton, your emplacement, but the orientations of the magnetic lines suggest a predominantly NNE-SSW direction, suggesting a magmatic flow in this direction. Investigations on magnetic mineralogy through thermomagnetic curves showed evidence of iron magnetite and hematite oxides in both the Caladão Granite and the Padre Paraíso Charnockite. The low values of magnetic susceptibility, on the order of 10-4 to 10-5 SI, suggest that paramagnetic minerals essentially control the ASM for these igneous bodies. The AMS ellipsoids are predominantly oblate, characterizing a strong flattening deformation; only locally prolate ellipsoids have been identified. Isotopic analyzes performed at Caladão Granite provided ages ranging from 500.7 ± 1.5 Ma to 512.1 ± 1.5 Ma (zircon) and 445.0 ± 9.5 Ma (monazite), and zircon ages from 498 ± 2.4 Ma to 502.7 ± 1.9 Ma obtained in the Padre Paraíso Charnockite. Older zircon ages determined in the Caladão Granite and Padre Paraíso Charnockite are, respectively, 556.8 ± 3.7 Ma and 576.0 ± 2.2Ma, whose ages were interpreted as inherited zircons that were captured from the host rocks during the plutons emplacement. In the northern sector of the studied area, the CC age of 570.1 ± 1.7 Ma is compatible with the ages that were obtained in the literature, ranging from 572 ± 4 Ma to 597 ± 3 Ma, however in the south of the area some surprisingly younger ages (510.8 ± 1.7 Ma and 520.5 ± 2.5 Ma) in the CC, suggesting diachronic magmatic pulses. The Lu/Hf determinations revealed negative ?Hf values for all studied plutons, showing that they are derived from crustal reworking, from an Archaean and Paleoproterozoic crust. The most Hf model age are 2,0 Ga, however there are some Archean ages ranging from 3.0 to 3.8 Ga. The presence of highly negative values of -20 and -30 for the Caladão Granite are interpreted as largely crustal-derived melts.

An evaluation of an MBBR anammox model - sensitivity analysis and calibration

Jonfelt, Clara January 2016 (has links)
This master thesis is about mathematical modelling of the anammox process with a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) for a reject water application. Specifically, the aim of my research was to find out whether the model proposed by Erik Lindblom in (Lindblom et al. 2016) is a good model for this purpose and worth continuous research and optimization. The code for the model, implemented in Matlab/Simulink, was given; although not initially functioning in the given condition. Some modifications needed to be done to make it function properly. In order to confirm that the code was working and used in a correct way some results in (Lindblom et al. 2016) were reproduced. Before starting the evaluation of the model, some much-needed optimizations of the code were done, substantially reducing the run time. A sensitivity analysis was done, and the five most sensitive parameters were picked out to be used in the calibration. The calibration improved the total fit of the model to the available measurements, although one of the model outputs could not be calibrated satisfactorily. In short, I found that although there are still problems left to solve before the model can be stated to accurately model the anammox process with MBBR, it appears promising. Most importantly, more measurement data are needed in order to make a proper validation and to do a better calibration. / CONAN

Development of a Java Bytecode Front-End

Modesto, Francisco January 2009 (has links)
The VizzAnalyzer is a powerful software analysis tool. It is able to extract information from various software representations like source code  but also other specifications like UML. The extracted information is input to static analysis of these software projects. One programming language the VizzAnalyzer can extract information from is Java source code. Analyzing the source code is sufficient for most of the analysis. But, sometimes it is necessary to analyze compiled classes either because the program is only available in byte-code, or the scope of analysis includes libraries that exist usually in binary form. Thus, being able to extract information from Java byte-code is paramount for the extension of some analyses, e.g., studying the dependecy structure of a project and the libraries it uses. Currently, the VizzAnalyzer does not feature information extraction from Java byte-code. To allow, e.g., the analysis of the project dependency structure, we extend the VizzAnalyzer tool with a bytecode front-end that will allow the extraction of information from Java bytecode. This thesis describes the design and implementation of the bytecode front-end. After we implemented and integrated the new front-end with the VizzAnalyzer, we are now able to perform new analyses that work on data extracted from both, source- and bytecode.

“Je Cherche La Vie!”: Women's Labour Politics in Masisi's Artisanal Coltan Mines

Furniss, Allison 10 August 2021 (has links)
In considering how women navigate the complexity and gendered aspects of the artisanal mining industry, this study seeks to unpack women's labour at step one of the global supply chain of coltan, in the post-conflict context of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Female miners are largely excluded from mine work by blurry regulatory frameworks, gendered social norms and financial disparities, however they manage to remain active labourers in the artisanal mining industry. Within a broader socio-political context of poverty, political instability and rural livelihoods, women maintain access to mine work through strategies, often premised on a gendered solidarity, such as organizing into collectives, engaging in small group collaborations and employing creative ruses to maintain the secrecy of their labour. This thesis seeks to analyze women's exclusions from mine work and the subsequent strategies they employ to circumvent those exclusions and maintain work in the mines. Based on three months of ethnographic fieldwork at artisanal coltan mine sites in Masisi Territory in the province of North Kivu, this study employs ethnographic observations, focus group and interview methodologies.

Implementace real-time protokolu / Real-time protocol implementation

Procházka, Jan January 2009 (has links)
Thesis deals with multicast broadcasts, discusses the type of ASM and SSM. Also deals with the principle of RTP / RTCP protocol for large multicast groups, for example, broadcasting IPTV. It was created a model for simulating the behavior of the network load in a large number of receivers. The application was developed in Java and uses the recommendations of RFC3550. There are also analysed processes of communication, initialization, log out, the structure of the data packets and signaling packets. The system is designed that can simulate multicast network and obtain the estimated parameters of the operation, or can operate in real traffic, for example, as a third-party monitor. In both modes, the measurement was carried out model situations. The results of the measurements were then compared. Principle and system control was described in detail. Output measurements are graphically processed and included in the work.
