After-purchase Satisfaction and Repurchase Intention of Mobile Phones - A Case Study of University Students

Wang, Cheng-han 21 June 2007 (has links)
This research aims to discuss the correlation between after-purchase satisfaction and repurchase intention of mobile phones. The amount of mobile phone users had reached to 20 million and the possession rate of mobile phones was over 90% in Taiwan in July 2005. Repurchasers, including replacing the used mobile phone and buying the second one, are primary consumers in the mobile phone markets. Therefore it is important for mobile phone producers to understand consumers¡¦ repurchase intention and repurchase behaviors. However, consumers¡¦ purchasing decision does not end at buying but continues to influence consumers by the products¡¦ performance. After purchasing mobile phones, consumers tend to determine whether the buying decisions are correct or not by the satisfaction of the products. The conclusions of this research are presented as follows, (1)On average, university students have purchased 2.43 mobile phones by signing contracts with mobile phone service providers. (2)Consumers¡¦ after-purchase satisfaction, perceived value satisfaction, and brand loyalty significantly differ from different brands. Nokia was ranked highest. (3)In attributes of mobile phone, only brands and service points are considered affecting after-purchase satisfaction. (4)Perceived value satisfaction is prominently correlated to repurchase intention. (5)In personal concerns, attributes of mobile phones not only affect the repurchase intention but also have moderation effects. The conclusions above are meaningful for management in the following aspects, (1)University students have strong purchasing power and change mobile phones frequently, so mobile phone producers should create customer databases and offer special discounts to original customers. (2)Mobile phone producers should add more effort in product design and conduct remarkable attributes to create customers¡¦ usage habits and then attain their brand loyalty.

The research of relationship between recognition of changing in external environment, career anchor and willing to resign from job. An example of credit department of farmers¡¦ association in Taipei county.

Chen, Chien-Lang 26 January 2002 (has links)
Abstract Title of dissertation¡GThe research of relationship between recognition of changing in external environment, career anchor and willing to resign from job. An example of credit department of farmers¡¦ association in Taipei county. Outline of dissertation¡G The role of credit department of farmers¡¦ association was quite important in the early age of agricultural development in Taiwan. However, the survival opportunity of those organizations has been affected by revolution of ages, changing in society and external environment in Taiwan. This research will focus on the point of view of employees who work for credit department of farmers¡¦ association. Their viewpoints are influenced by the establishment of sixteen private banks which resulted in strong competition in banking industry in 1991 to depositors who wanted to withdraw their money eagerly from fundamental financial institutions because those organizations were in the edge of bankruptcy until Taiwan joins World Trade Organization ¡]WTO¡^. It conducts 203 questioners from employees who work for 10-credit department of a farmers¡¦ associations, which locate on Taipei County. The results of this research result from the statistical analysis of four variables. They are the cognition of changing in external environment; career anchor, willing to resign and the outbound after resign. According to the results of statistic, there are eight features: 1¡B Different employees have obvious differences in recognition of changing environment, career anchor, resigned willing and outbound after resign. 2¡B There is positive relation between the level of business environment crisis recognition and resigned willing. 3¡B There is negative relation between cognition of future development of organization and resigned willing. 4¡B The level of business environment crisis recognition has a little bit of positive relation with outbound after resign. 5¡B Career anchor has obvious affect to resign willing and outbound after resign. 6¡B The interaction between level of business environment crisis recognition and anchor of security of job and service/challenge has a little bit of influence to resigned willing. 7¡B The interaction between level of recognition for development of organization in the future and gender has a little bit of influence to resigned willing. 8¡B Different dimensions in cognition of environmental variation have obvious difference with career anchor. According to the results of research, there are six suggestions to credit department of farmers¡¦ association as follows¡G1.reposition the strategies of organization. 2. Re-examine core products and core competence. 3. Breed the human resource that has knowledge management ability. 4. Breed the people who have ability to select strategy. 5. Carry out the demand in training. 6. Respect the career development and career anchor of employees. Keywords: business environment, career anchor, resign, outbound after resign, farmers¡¦ association

Damage tolerance and residual strength of composite sandwich structures

Bull, Peter H. January 2004 (has links)
<p>The exploitation of sandwich structures as a means toachieve high specific strength and stiffness is relatively new. Therefore, the knowledge of its damage tolerance is limitedcompared to other structural concepts such as truss bars andmonocoque plate solutions.</p><p>Several aspects of the damage tolerance of sandwichstructures are investigated. The influence of impact velocityonresidual strength is investigated. Sandwich panels withfaces of glass fiber reinforced vinylester are impacted bothwith very high velocity and quasi static. The residual strengthafter impact is found to be similar for both cases of impactvelocity.</p><p>Curved sandwich beams subjected to opening bending momentare studied. Faceñcore debonds of varying size areintroduced between the compressively loaded face sheet and thecore. Finite element analysis in combination with a pointstress criterion is utilized to predict the residual strengthof the beams. It is shown that it is possible to predict thefailure load of the beams with face-core debond.</p><p>Using fractography the governing mode of failure ofcompressively NCF-carbon is characterized. Sandwich panelssubjected to compression after impact are shown to fail byplastic micro buckling.</p><p>The residual compressive strength after impact of sandwichpanels is investigated. Sandwich panels with face sheets ofnon-crimp fabric (NCF) carbon are subjected to different typesof impact damages. Predictions of residual strength are madeusing the Budiansky, Soutis, Fleck (BSF) model. The residualstrength is tested, and the results are compared topredictions. Predictions and tests correlate well, and indicatethat the residual strength is dependent on damage size and notthe size of the damaged panel.</p><p>A study of the properties of a selection of fiberreinforcements commonly used in sandwich panels is conducted. The reinforcements are combined with two types of core materialand three types of matrix. Also the influence of laminatethickness is tested. Each combination materials is tested inuni-axial compression, compressive strength after impact andenergy absorption during quasi static indentation. Thespecimens which are tested for residual strength are eithersubjected to quasi-static or dynamic impact of comparableenergy level. Prediction of the residual strength is made andcorrelates reasonably whith the test results. The tests showthat if weight is taken into account the preferred choice offiber reinforcement is carbon.</p>

The impact of an environmental education program on third graders' knowledge, attitudes and behavioral intentions

Vadala, Carin Elizabeth 30 September 2004 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to measure whether an after-school environmental education program based on modified Project Wild materials, positively impacted third graders environmental knowledge, attitudes and behavioral intentions. Eight lesson plans were developed, piloted and re-designed over a one year period and then delivered to third graders for a total of eight weeks in a fall semester. The lessons included units on water, air, land, recycling, insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. A pre-post test retrospective questionnaire was developed to determine changes in the participant's knowledge, attitudes and behavioral intentions as a result of participating in the program. Results indicate positive shifts in knowledge and changes in environmental attitudes and behavioral intentions. Recommendations were also made for future studies.

Riglyne vir nasorgdienste aan gerehabiliteerde alkoholiste / A.C. Wright

Wright, Anneke Cornelia January 2003 (has links)
The aim of this research was to develop guidelines for after-care services for rehabilitated alcoholics, in order to render a more effective support service towards the rehabilitated alcoholic on his way to full recovery. The necessity of the research project originated on account of a lack of knowledge among social workers on the need of the rehabilitated alcoholic towards after-care service and the specific nature that after-care services have to contain. A literature overview of after-care services was given to the alcoholic, as a background for the empirical study of the project. The literature study showed that after-care services as an integral part of the total rehabilitation of the alcoholic is conceptualized. Further out of the literature came to light that social workers have a resistance against the delivering of after-care services and that they experience feelings of discourage regarding the alcoholic. The empirical study confirmed that social workers experience resistance against giving after-care services to rehabilitated alcoholics. Further they don't consider this as part of their task and they give a low priority towards the rendering of after-care services. In spite of this, the necessity of after-care services is being realized by the social workers. Alcoholics who are standing on the point of being discharged from the rehabilitation center have a need for after-care services to help them adapt in the community. They especially have a need for individual contact with a professional person and do not want to be part of only a self-help group. Among the alcoholics who are already functioning in the community after treatment, the particular need of the female alcoholic came forward. This group feels that their family and spouse do not truly have an idea of their needs. Further there was a need among the rehabilitated alcoholics to know who will be responsible for their after-care services. This group would have wanted to be prepared on possible risky situations and ways of handling these situations. The research showed that there is a shortcoming in the practice concerning the rendering of aftercare service. Guidelines were formulated from which more effective after-care services could be given to rehabilitated alcoholics. / Thesis (M.A. (MW))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2004.

Living at the Intersection: Exploring the Relationship between Youth Health and Wellbeing, Place, and After-School Programs in Small Urban Towns

Cross, Heather 02 January 2013 (has links)
This thesis explored the connection between rural youth health/wellbeing and after-school programs as perceived by adult after-school program staff and affiliated community members. For this qualitative case study, purposive sampling was used to recruit eighteen key informants who participated in individual semi-structured interviews and one validation focus group. Informants described health and wellbeing in relation to youth as including three integrated dimensions – mental health, physical health, and having resources and supports. Three intervening factors connected attendance at the program with health and wellbeing – the eclectic mix of activities, relationships and connections, and having a designated “place for youth”. Positive health/wellbeing outcomes included reduced stress, staying positive, feeling accepted, engaging in physical activity, learning to have goals, building skills, making healthy choices, and reducing the need for risk-taking behaviours. These results can inform future impact evaluations addressing youth health/wellbeing and guide program planning decisions.

The role of gibberellin and abscisic acid in regulating preharvest sprouting in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

Liu, Lingwei 01 April 2013 (has links)
Preharvest sprouting (PHS), the germination of seeds on the maternal plant before harvest, is a big challenge for barley producers worldwide. It is attributed mainly to low seed dormancy. The balance between two classical plant hormones, gibberellin (GA) and abscisic acid (ABA) regulates seed dormancy and germination, and the endogenous level of these two hormones in plants is determined by their biosynthesis and catabolism. This thesis characterized the expression patterns of the major GA and ABA metabolism genes in barley cv. Betzes during seed development, and germination in both dormant and non-dormant seeds. The results indicate that specific gene family members of the two hormones play distinct temporal roles in regulating seed development, dormancy onset and release, and germination. Since only two genes encoding the GA deactivating GA 2-oxidase enzyme have been known so far in barley, this study also identified two new GA2ox genes designated as HvGA2ox1 and HvGA2ox3.
