Koncept značek v politickém prostředí - Případová studie Andreje Babiše / Brand concept in Politics - Andrej Babis Case Study

This thesis examines the branding concept in politics and its main aim is to analyze the brand of Andrej Babis, who is nowadays the leader of political party ANO 2011. The author analyzes his brand personality in a first place. For this purpose OCEAN model created by Gerard Saucier is applied. After that the connection between brand ANO and Babis's brand is examined. The research is based on answers of 454 respondents, who were part of the survey. The results are analyzed from two points of view. One group of voters are those who gave their vote to ANO 2011 and the other group is presented by voters of others political parties.

The diploma thesis is devoted to the analysis of the political communication of Czech populist politicians in the context of the elections to the Chamber of Deputies in October 2021. It aims to map the communication activity of selected political representatives and to compare how these politicians use social networks for their political communication, what influence the proximity of the elections has on the activity and narrative of their communication strategy, what topics they focus on the most in their posts and to what extent they use attributes of populism and personalization. The theoretical part focuses on the definition and genesis of the term populism with a special emphasis on the perception of populism as a communication style. Afterward, the thesis pursues the issue of political communication in the context of the emergence and spread of the Internet and social media, in particular how political leaders take advantage of this transformation of the communication environment in their political strategy. The diploma thesis Analysis of the political instrumentalization of the periodic press Mladá fronta DNES in the period before elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2013 examines, if leader of the political party ANO Andrej Babiš used his position of the owner of the media group MAFRA to influence media content in the periodic press Mlada fronta DNES during the period before elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2013. Theoretical framework briefly describes the basic concepts of political communication and geopolitical division of the models of political communication including the Czech media scene. Focus is primarily on the development and possible ways of instrumentalization of printed media operating in the Czech media market after 1989. Results of quantitative research showed that four other political parties gained more media attention then political party ANO which ended up second in the election. The political marketing established in the Slovak Republic over the time and became a relevant part of the Slovak elections. Presidential elections in 2014 showed, that there is sufficiently large space for the application of political marketing. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the election campaign of Andrej Kiska in presidential elections in 2014 in terms of usage of political marketing tools. The ambition of this work, is to show the extent and the exact form of the tools which were used in this campaign, based on the theoretical framework. Another object of this work is to describe, how was the results of presidential elections in 2014 perceived by Slovak public, how happy were the Slovak voters with the results of the elections and which arguments dominated in favor of Andrej Kiskas election.

This thesis deals with the influence of the European Migration Crisis in 2015 on the number of uses of selected features of totalitarian language in the rhetoric of ANO movement chairman Andrej Babiš, SPD chairman Tomia Okamura and IvČRN initiative leader Martin Konvička. This work aims to use new quantitative methods to examine over time the frequency and structure of the characters used in totalitarian language based on the concept of politics of eternity of the American historian Timothy Snyder. The occurrence of signs of totalitarian language was monitored on the social network Facebook in the period 2013-2017. The results of the analysis show an increase in the use of features of the totalitarian language with the onset of the migration crisis. In the end, a comparison of the monitored political actors and a contextual interpretation of the findings is given.
