January 2017 (has links)
Among the new therapeutic screenings for bacterial diseases, infections caused by Helicobacter pylori deserve special attention, since they are directly related to severe clinical conditions, such as chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. Casearia sylvestris Swartz is a plant popularly known as guaçatonga or erva-de-bugre, used in popular medicine to the treatment of gastric disorders that in recent years has gained the interest of the scientific community due to its important properties with therapeutic potential as an anti-inflammatory, antiofidic, healing, cytotoxicity against tumor cells and mainly antiulcerogenic. In this context, an excellent alternative for the improvement of the bioavailability parameters of the vegetal extracts that is used today is the incorporation of these in nanotechnological systems of drug release so that the active product has a better action. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro antibacterial potential of the ethanolic extract, aqueous extract, fraction and subfractions of the leaves of Casearia sylvestris Swartz, and incorporate into a drug...

January 2018 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Ceftriaxone sodium is a third generation semi-synthetic antibiotic, belonging to the group of cephalosporins, for parenteral use. It acts to prevent the synthesis of the bacterial wall, being highly stable to most β-lactamases. It is the drug of choice for the treatment of gonococcal infections; it is also indicated in the treatment of meningitis, among other infections. There are few studies in the literature regarding the development and validation of analytical methods for the quantification of ceftriaxone sodium, aiming at environmentally-friendly solvents, analyst safety, less analysis time and cost, feasibility and easy method execution. Based on these needs, the aim of the work was to develop and validate quantitative physicochemical methods for the analysis of ceftriaxone sodium in powder solution for injection through the techniques of high-performance liquid chromatography and infrared spectroscopy, also the potency of the drug was determined by the microbiological method by turbidimetry, all proposed methods are indicative of stability. The method by infrared spectrophotometry was carried out with potassium bromide pellets with a total mass of 150 mg in the concentration range of 0.40 to 1.20 mg/pellet were prepared, the content found was 94.18% and accuracy of 100.44%. The high-performance liquid chromatography was validated using mobile phase constituted by water and orthophosphoric acid in the concentration of 0.20% and ethanol 87:13 (v/v), in the linear range evaluated from 20.00 to 120.00 μg/mL, the drug had a mean retention time of 4.40 minutes with UV detection at wavelength 260 nm, the content found was 98.11% and the accuracy of 99.53%. The microbiological method by turbidimetry was validated in the concentration range of 100.00 to 196.00 μg/mL, using Staphylococcus aureus...
