Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This research paper deals with the idea of how environment can be associated to cultural issues, and the way popular knowledge on Cerrado plants can be worked on environmental education proposals. Considering the wealth of cultural hybridization processes, and their linking with that knowledge, memories of a rural community regarding its members‟ traditions and life experience were sought and registered in a documentary. To understand how the inhabitants of that community get to know their own culture and their relationship with the environment, the students of its municipal school were proposed to make a photographic record of the local. The narratives and pictures produced throughout the research show that the community culture is inserted in a hybridized context, once both the knowledge acquired by the inhabitants‟ life experience and the scientific resources characterize their way of life. This condition can be verified especially by the testimony of the plant experts for the documentary about the recovery of ancient customs and traditions in parallel with acceptance of modernity. Valuing the media language presented by the pictures and videos has allowed an interaction between the pants experts and the students at the divulgation of the cultural-historic relation established by the community with the environment. / O trabalho de pesquisa aqui apresentado investiga como a ideia de meio ambiente pode ligar-se às questões culturais e ao modo como o conhecimento popular sobre plantas do Cerrado pode ser trabalhado em propostas de educação ambiental. Ao considerar a riqueza dos processos de hibridação cultural e sua vinculação a esse conhecimento, buscaram-se as memórias dos conhecedores de plantas, sobre suas tradições e experiências de vida registradas em documentário. Para compreender como os moradores do distrito rural, estudado neste trabalho, percebem a sua própria cultura e a relação estabelecida com o meio ambiente, foi proposto aos alunos de sua escola municipal um registro fotográfico da localidade. As narrativas e imagens produzidas, ao longo da pesquisa, apresentam indicíos de que a cultura dessa comunidade está inserida em um contexto hibridizado, uma vez que tanto os conhecimentos adquiridos pela experiência vivida quanto os recursos científicos caracterizam seu modo de vida. Essa condição pode ser verificada especialmente nos depoimentos dos conhecedores de plantas para o documentário sobre a valorização dos costumes e tradições antigas em paralelo a aceitação da atualidade. A linguagem midiática, representada pelas fotografias e videogravações, permitiu a interação entre os conhecedores de plantas e os alunos na divulgação da relação histórico-cultural estabelecida por essa comunidade com o meio ambiente. / Mestre em Educação
