Lee, Kuo-chih 29 January 2004 (has links)
¡§Internet¡¨ not only change our life, also increase a source for information searching before we make decision. However, the quantity of information provided from internet surpass the capability of human. The purposes of the study were to discuss how consumers search information in internet, and how consumer information search behavior be different because of internet. Among all industry in Taiwan, tourism is the best industry in applying e-commence. Further, 95 percent people in Taiwan are backpackers, so backpacker is a trend of people traveling in Taiwan. As a result, the study choose backpacker as subject to observe consumer information search behavior in internet. The study follows Schmidt & Spreng¡¦s model which indicate that perceived risk, perceived benefit, and search ability are variables of information search behavior. Besides, personal character is also a variable of internet information search behavior. According to an on-lined survey at 2003 with 1931 valid samples, 4 factors of internet perceived benefits were extracted. They were ¡§entertainment¡¨, ¡§ease of use¡¨, ¡§efficiency of using information¡¨, and ¡§useful¡¨. The factors of internet perceived risk were ¡¨credibility and significance¡¨, ¡§security¡¨, and ¡§time¡¨. The factors of backpack perceived benefits were ¡§cheerful¡¨, ¡§innovational¡¨, ¡§functional¡¨, ¡§economic¡¨ and ¡§signal¡¨. The factors of backpack perceived risk were ¡§money loss¡¨, ¡§bad route of travel¡¨, ¡§damage to friendship¡¨, ¡§heavy duty¡¨ and ¡§not economic¡¨. Many clusters were formed and they are significant different in information search behavior in internet according to chi-square test. The study result also shows that different personal character has different information search behavior in internet; Both ¡§the composition of travel party¡¨ and ¡§backpacker¡¦s travel ability and experience¡¨ have influence on backpacker¡¦s perception of travel; ¡§the experience and ability of using internet¡¨ and ¡§internet perceived benefit¡¨ are direct proposition, on the contrary, the experience and ability of using internet¡¨ and ¡§internet perceived benefit¡¨ are inverse proposition; most of backpackers are good educated and have good income; the purpose of backpacker is mainly to get flexible route of travel, and the economic factor is the last important of all.

Legal Analysis of Cable TV Routing Conflicts

Han, Shu-yuan 07 February 2006 (has links)
Cable TV refers to the transmission of visual and audio signals to the public by laying cables. Article 5 of the Cable Radio and Television Law says: ¡§System operators installing the networks themselves shall apply to the roads authority for approval if the networks are to be laid underground¡K¡¨ The roads authority on the regional level is the Township Office. Road right granted by the roads authority is usually valid for one year. Cable TV is a licensed business; business licenses issued by the Government Information Office, Executive Yuan are in 9-year term. Although it is subject to the restrictions and regulations of the same laws as public utilities, the business does not enjoy the deserved protection. Hence, system operators often come across setbacks in their operation, which are undoubtedly potential threats to their survival and development. However, contrasting this to the development history of Taiwan¡¦s cable TV industry, it seems from the result that the government institution has played a critical role. Importance of the government¡¦s initiative to moderately liberalize the public goods for creation of an open environment, and to put more emphasis on the overall system planning for the industry development at different stages is beyond words. This study not only analyzes the impact of the Cable Radio and Television Law and regional laws on the system, but also takes real-life examples into consideration, to explain the importance of public interest and freedom of speech for liberalization of routing rights. The question is tackled in different approaches and from different viewpoints, in order to understand the problems and difficulties that system operators face when applying for routing rights from the Township Office. The study expects to provide some positive assistance and suggestions to the industry and the government, for avoidance of improper market intervention.

Cheng, Cheng-Ting 08 September 2006 (has links)
In recent years, the rapid change of business climate, has cause a dramatic increase in investment risk throughout the world. The days of exponential growth and high profit margins are gone. Industries are facing an overly competitive environment and down-cycling in many sectors. Companies are focusing more on cutting costs, outsourcing manpower, shifting manufacturing to China, organizational downsizing in order to maintain a competitive edge. In the other hand, industry is transforming in ways like never before. New hiring practices and modern horizontal management structuring have given both managements and applicants a better outlook of working value. The concept of employee dispatching is gradually prevailing. However, what¡¦s the meaning and benefit of using outsourcing strategies to the employers? Case study is adopted in this research, and this is an exploratory study. We try to sketch the outline of the local dispatch method and compare the dispatched work agency and user enterprise in Taiwan. Furthermore, according to the above findings to foresee that how workforce outsourcing works in the near future. From this research, we can conclude that¡G 1¡BThe main considerations of company using dispatching workers are more focus on organizational flexibility and reduce the risk of hiring. 2¡BThe values of using dispatch workers are arising different benefits along with the scale of each organization, industrial nature and core competence of different businesses. 3¡BEmployers will measure the cost of hiring by themselves with the transaction cost of outsourcing before their decision of using dispatching workforce. 4¡BThe so-called ¡§Core Value¡¨ of each business which has few related to the ¡§difficulty¡¨ of the jobs, but mostly defined by business owners¡¦ recognition to the job function / position. 5¡BIn Taiwan, the outsourcing service is expecting to integrate with HR full functions to be a total solution provider or to develop in depth service to become a specialist. Then the outsourcing shall become not only a value-added service to the companies but also the strategy partner between both parties. Cost-Benefit Assessments of Some Power Quality Improvement Options

Leou, Chian-Shian 03 July 2001 (has links)
With the increase of sensitive loads in industrial and commercial customers, more attention has been paid to the power quality problems. Voltage sag is among the major power quality problems that cause interruptions in production lines that result in significant losses. Power quality mitigation devices, that provide different protection levels, can be adopted to match individual customer¡¦s special needs. This thesis presents a cost-benefit assessment of various voltage sag mitigation options at locations with different types of distribution feeders and customers. Simulation results have revealed that using the assumed power quality cost data, the installation of small capacity and low cost UPS has the highest benefit/cost ratio in all the options tested.

The Case Study of CMMI Implementation of A+ Technology Company

Chuang, Hsin-Ning 20 March 2008 (has links)
ABSTRACT The Capability Maturity Model Integration, (CMMI) has been officially announced in 2002 by the Carnegie Mellon® Software Engineering Institute (SEI). The SEI¡¦s core purpose is to help organizations continuously carry on to improve their flow of software engineering capabilities and to appraise the maturity rank of contractor's organization. CMMI has provided an elastic framework to practice for the software project and to ensure the software quality. Due to CMMI does not limit the method of practice, but only defines the goal which must be achieved. Therefore, the different technique, organization, and work domain all may according to their characteristics to adjust their flow to comply with the CMMI requirement. Meanwhile it has already been generally valued and adopted by both of domestic and foreign companies. At present, there are 24 domestic companies have obtained the CMMI authentication. At the same time, the Government wants to promote the competitiveness of domestic software industry to the global information service market. During CMMI¡¦s promotion, she has aggressively offered all kind of policies and estimates to invest about seventy millions new Taiwan Dollars every year with the expectation to impel 50 third level of authentication in 2007; to achieve 100 third level in 2010 as well as 5 fifth level to encourage the domestic software organization to obtain the CMMI authentication. Obviously the software quality is now one of the key impetus of Taiwan industry and more over the most important development tendency and the critical technology to increase international competitive strength of Taiwan software industry in the future. The software flow improvement is the enterprise to guarantee the quality of their provided service/product. It is an important investment of competitiveness promotion which will involve the interference of the transformation of organization, the resistance of inside and outside staff etc., hence the organization must to have the commitment of policy, the intense attempt and the motive to invest the essential resources to determine the execution of software flow improvement, thus to guarantee the success of the software flow improvement. By analyzing the implemented benefits and the various difficulties of initial stages and common bitter experience in each domain flow of the 24 domestic CMMI certificated companies to make the case study of CMMI implementation to offer the reference templates of domestic enterprises which are now complying with CMMI or those plan to induct CMMI in the future. This research analyzed the substantive benefits of the domestic 24 CMMI certified companies from the six performances, such as customer, finance, the quality, the flow, the organization and the staff after carry out CMMI. We found the mostly positive confirmation after CMMI implemented. Yet comparing the performance of finance and the staff, with approximately 50% thought it revealed less distinguished deviation in either enhancing "the capability of commercial negotiation of project taken¡¨ or decreasing the bustle of team member after CMMI carry out. This article referred to the lesson learn of domestic enterprises which got the CMMI authentication inducting A + technology which was inducting CMMI and the local consultancy companies to collect the 35 usual problems of the 4 aspects of in the staff, the force team, the inside and outside resources, and the environment of organization. Also to procure 18 bitter experiences of domain flow of both maturity second level (ML2) and third level (ML 3) in specific tasks with the common troubles in general practices of A+ technology, as well as the difficulties in particular tasks under execution, then to analyze the change tendency of the various stages of CMMI to accumulate the valuable experience assets of the domestic enterprises to implement CMMI. In this research integrated the motives; the purpose; the flow and invested resources; the key successful factors; the frequent troubles and the solution, including the concrete effectiveness and the future plan of the 3 examples to be the important reference model for those enterprises are to conduct CMMI authentication and to effectively create the systemized software development / maintain flow to promote the project productivity, the competitiveness of organization and software quality. The Study of Defined Contribution Pension Plan and Mortgage Payment- the Application of Asset allocation model

Hsieh, Chi-jung 15 July 2008 (has links)
The research investigates the application of asset allocation model to pension structure and mortgage payment. The defined contribution pension plan has become the main pension plan in Taiwan. In this pension plan, labors could adjust the contribution rate to maximize their utility function even if they change jobs. Thus, the pension plan may cause changes in their optimal asset allocation. In addition, due to the financial innovations of personalized debt instruments, lenders are allowed to adjust the mortgage payment to maximize personal utility function and hence the adjustable payment ratio could also change the lenders¡¦ optimal asset allocation. This study presents an extended intertemporal asset allocation model of Campbell(1993) and Viceira(2001) to investigate the effects of defined contribution pension and mortgage payment. The numeric simulation is also present to demonstrate the effects on labors¡¦ optimal asset allocation.

The relationship among procedural/distributive justice and pay/benefit satisfaction to the job satisfaction¡V A Case

Chou, Yung-nan 14 June 2009 (has links)
Abstract Most enterprises acknowledge that technology and experience accumulated by the employees are the most important assets. In order to make regular employees dedicate their efforts on work, reduce employees¡¦ turnover, and enhance their motivations as well as hard-work attitudes, it¡¦s popular for the corporate to assess the job satisfaction of the employees¡¦. According to the equity theory, the corporate employees would be frustrated and maybe reduce their satisfactions on jobs in case they aware of unfair treatment from the organization, no matter what is caused by the distribution or the procedure. Also, incentive pay and benefits system in salary management could motivate and enhance employee¡¦s morale, and moreover help strengthen the overall competitiveness of organizations. Are all of the above mentioned dimensions there significant influences on the job satisfaction? A number of documents reveal confusion regarding relationships among constructs of pay and benefits satisfaction and distributive and procedural justice. The purpose of this study is to measure and verify the relevance among them, and to further clarify the differential effects resulted from these dimensions on the job satisfaction. The study was conducted in a large Taiwan company and carried out via the questionnaire approach as well as SPSS analysis to show the differential effect of the four dimensions- procedural justice, distributive justice, pay satisfaction, and benefits satisfaction, distributive justice, and procedural justice- on job satisfaction. Results showed some important findings as below: 1. Procedural/ distributive justice and pay/ benefits satisfaction are significantly associated with each other. Particularly distributive justice plays more positive effect on pay than procedural one; however, procedural justice does more positive effect on benefits than distributive one. 2. There are positive relationships between both procedural/ distributive justice with job satisfaction. So are both pay/ benefits satisfaction with job satisfaction. It implies that raising the procedural/ distributive justice through improving the system of an organization to increase the job satisfaction of the employees¡¦ is another good way except improving pay/ benefits for the employees. 3. Each of procedural / distributive justice and pay/ benefits satisfaction influences job satisfaction positively. The priority of the effect extent is distributive justice most, procedural justice the second, pay the third, and benefits the last. 4. If we assess the effects of the four dimensions together-procedural justice/ distributive justice/ pay/ benefits satisfaction on job satisfaction, the result shows that distributive justice is with the maximum effect, followed by pay satisfaction, and then followed procedural justice, and benefits satisfaction the minimum. Therefore as the study results showed, if the enterprises attempt to retain talent, reduce employee turnover, and further expect employees to perform better and to take more responsibilities, they can motivate employees with procedural justice and distributive one to achieve organizational goals in addition to with pay and benefits system. specially when some business units in a firm hire outsourced workers in future and then the phenomenon of unequal pay for equal work happens under the situation that the pay system could not be adjusted, it may be a solution for the corporate that it reinforces the "justice" in the system by enhancing the potential of employees perceptual experience to retain high ¡Vquality employees as well as to maintain good efficiency.
