Projektet började i en artikel av Mats Lieberg om Ungdomarna, staden och det offentliga rummet. Texten behandlar ungdomen som en transaktionstid mellan barndomen till vuxenvärlden. En tid präglad av att identifiera vem man är och känna sig vuxen utan att bli utsatt för föräldrars eller andra vuxnas blick. Alla människor är olika, även ungdomar, och Lieberg identifierar tre olika grupper; förenings-, kamrat- och hemorienterade ungdomar. Man kan se att dessa olika grupper tar det offentliga rummet i ansprång på olika sätt. Medan de hem- och kamratorienterade ungdomarna har en plats de återkommer till och känner sig trycka vid kan föreningsorienterade mer välja mellan de platser som finns till förfogande för stunden. Man ska kunna vara on stage där man blir en del av skådespelet, där man får blomma ut, där man blir sedd men inte identifierad. Det behövs också en plats där man får vara back stage, en plats man är helt osynlig och där man är okontrollerad av vuxenvärlden. / The project started with an article of Mats Lieberg about youths, the city and the public space. The text discusses the youth as a transaction between being a kid and an adult. An age of finding who you are and feel grown up without feeling over watched by parents or other adults. Everyone is different, even youths, and Lieberg identifies three separate groups; activity-, friends, and home oriented kids. We can observe that the different groups use the public space in different ways. The home and friends oriented kids have one place which they frequently returns to and feel comfortable at wile the activity oriented kids easily can choose a place which is free at the moment. The young people also need a on stage space where they can be a part of the theatre, where they can blossom, where they can be visibly unidentified. But they will also need a back-stage space. A place where own is completely invisible and not controlled by the adults.
