Tendenční beletrie z období Protektorátu Čechy a Morava / Propaganda fiction of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia periodKolezsar, Michal January 2011 (has links)
The thesis deals with Czech activist fiction of anti-Semitic and openly pro-Nazi stance in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia between 1942 and 1945. This type of fiction has yet been widely ignored in the Czech (or Czechoslovak) scientific literature in spite of the fact that it belonged to the so-called "Popular Literature" at that time and therefore could have some (and maybe significant) impact on Czech readership. For that reason one of the main objectives of this paper is to identify and describe particular pieces. The identification and description is based primarily on the original material research of archival documents, newspapers and publications. On the basis of theoretical disputes and reviews in the official Protectorate press it also attempts to define officially demanded fundamental characteristics of the so-called "New Art" (or "The Art of the New Europe"). In another perspective (concerning themes and motives) it aims to distinguish specific categories in the tendentious literature of this period. It is argued that the basic types were: 1) Novels with the strong anti-Semitic accent (emphasis is laid upon a typification of characters); 2) Labour-novels; and 3) "Geopolitical" novels in which the fictional world of the "New Europe" is created.

Gestapo proti církvím a náboženským společnostem v protektorátu Čechy a Morava / Gestapo against the Churches and Church Institutions in the Protectorate Bohemia and MoraviaBernardová, Kristýna January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis entitled Gestapo against Churches and Religious Institutions in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia deals with the Nazi anti-church forces in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia with a closer focus on the department of Gestapo for ecclesiastical affairs. The main goal of this work is to describe mentioned department (not wholly known yet) - structure and activity, and cases under its auspices. The thesis outlines the attitude of Nazism towards the institution of Churches and Christianity in general. Then the text deals with a different view of the Church issue of the Gestapo and the Security Service. The next part of the work deals directly with the functioning of the Church department, its departments, employees, and confidants. An essential part of the work is also six case studies mapping the Nazi persecution of clergy and laity from different Churches. The selected cases are connected with the activities of the Gestapo department for Church affairs and based on information from contemporary sources. Key words Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia, second world war, nazism, Church, Religious institution, Gestapo, Sicherheitsdienst, department of the Church affairs

Nálezy skla doby římské v Čechách / Glass Finds of the Roman Period in BohemiaKacl, Pavel January 2012 (has links)
The thesis is focused on the finds of glass and faience which are to be found in the form of beads and pendants, vessels, inlays, game pieces, bracelets and a "window" in the bottom of a ceramic urn. The most common are glass and faience beads. Their occurrence increases in the Late Roman Period substantially when new ornament styles come into being as well. Because of the predominant cremation rite, the knowledge is limited for the poor condition as a large amount of glass artefacts was deformed. In view of the fact that the majority of the beads originates from the classical antiquity world, they represent a vast number of imported goods, which may have been traded in Barbaricum as well. The long necklaces reflect obviously the higher social status of buried women. Nevertheless, the same statement cannot be considered to be applicable for lower numbers of beads in graves. Even some male graves with beads are known. The elite milieus are indicated also by the glass vessels, rather rare in the Roman Period Bohemia, the inlays on brooches or rings, as well as the game pieces. The Roman glass bracelets represent a rare sort of artefacts in Barbaricum. It is also possible to encounter some residues of the Iron Age glass, mostly on the settlements. Keywords glass - faience - Roman Period - imports - Bohemia

Diet and Social Status During the Tène Period in Bohemia - Carbon and Nitrogen Stable Isotope Analysis of Bone Collagen from Kutná Hora-Karlov and Radovesice.Le Huray, Jonathan D., Schutkowski, Holger January 2005 (has links)
No / Bone collagen carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios were obtained from three La Tène period inhumation cemeteries in the Czech Republic (Kutná Hora-Karlov, Radovesice I and Radovesice II) and 16 Hallstatt period inhumations in northern Austria. Results indicate that during the La Tène period in Bohemia, overall diet was based on animal protein and plant foods following the C3 photosynthetic pathway, although ¿13C values for two individuals from Kutná Hora-Karlov indicate at least some contribution from C4 plant foods, most likely millet. At Kutná Hora-Karlov, more positive ¿15N values for male individuals buried with items of iron weaponry indicate the existence of a differential dietary system within the male population based on individual ¿warrior¿ status. A comparison with data from a number of Hallstatt period inhumations in northern Austria and a previously published study of a Hallstatt period site in Slovenia [Murray, M.L., Schoeninger, M.J., 1988. Diet, status, and complex social structure in Iron Age Central Europe: Some contributions from bone chemistry. In: Gibson, D.B., Geselowitz, M.N. (Eds.), Tribe and Polity in Late Prehistoric Europe: Demography, Production and Exchange in the Evolution of Complex Social Systems. Plenum Press, New York, pp. 155¿176] enables an examination of the spread of millet as a major dietary component. This data will be of use to studies of diet in prehistoric Europe and provides evidence for dietary divisions relating to social stratification during the La Tène B¿C, a period often seen as less complex than the preceding Hallstatt period.

Zeměpanské konfirmační listiny pro česká a slezská města do r. 1420 / The Sovereign Confirmations of Chartres for Bohemian and Silesian Towns to 1420Velička, Tomáš January 2014 (has links)
The present work deals with confirmations that have issued Bohemian kings and princes of Silesia to Bohemian or Silesian towns. The work is divided into five parts. The first deals with existing exploration and methodological inspiration that I subsequently used. The second chapter summarizes the findings regarding the process of confirmation documents - from motives of its release, through the process of the documents in the office during the procedure, to handing over the finished instrument beneficiaries and paying taxes. Then I deal with the various types of confirmations and also I discuss separately the observational charters. The third part is devoted confirmations for the Bohemian towns with regard to all documents which the royal towns received, published by Bohemian kings. The problems are discussed from the perspective of publishers and recipients, as well as the documents themselves (their content, form). The same shall apply also in the case of the fourth chapter, which deals with the same aspects of the Silesian towns and confirmations, which they were received. The final chapter summarizes the findings, which I reached on the previous pages. An important part of this thesis is a variety of reports and graphs to better perceive the immediate context and development trends. I also deal with...
