Esta preocupa-se em responder a questão: até que ponto uma denominação eclesiástica protestante que tem suas bases tradicionais relacionadas aos ideais democráticos e liberais pode ser marcada por uma teologia fundamentalista e uma ética política e social autoritária e repressiva à semelhança de um governo autoritário que se estabelece no Brasil após um Golpe de Estado civil-militar? Este fato leva à indagação até que ponto os procedimentos adotados pela IPB seriam ou não reflexos da situação política do país e até que ponto um regime político tido como de exceção pode influenciar no cotidiano de uma instituição religiosa que baseia sua práxis na ética da fraternidade e tolerância e é administrada sob um sistema de governo democráticorepresentativo, portanto, incompatível com a adoção de mecanismos de repressão e autoritários na gerência do sagrado, caso típico nos autoritarismos militares. Na Igreja Presbiteriana do Brasil a defesa da liberdade, ideal liberal, tão apregoada e requerida, principalmente no que se refere à liberdade de crença e culto, cedeu lugar a um dogmatismo que abolia qualquer tolerância para com aquele que ousasse uma interpretação teológica diferente da oficialmente estabelecida ou um comportamento moral divergente daquele aceito como aprovado a partir de um referencial ascético intramundano. / The present research search to understand the authoritarianism established at the Presbyterian Church of Brazil amid an authoritarian politics established at the country, marked, for the abuse of the power, it censors, limitation of the freedoms, tortures, outrages, and others modus operandi. Does this worry in answering the subject: to what extent a Protestant ecclesiastical denomination that has its traditional bases related to the democratic ideals and do you liberate it can be marked by a fundamentalist theology and an authoritarian and repressive political and social ethics to the an authoritarian government's likeness that settles down in Brazil after a civilmilitary coup? This fact takes to the inquiry to what extent the procedures adopted by IPB would be or non reflexes of the political situation of the country and to what extent a political regime had as of exception it can influence in the daily of a religious institution that bases its praxis on the ethics of the fraternity and tolerance and it is administered under a system of democraticrepresentative government, therefore, incompatible with the adoption of repression mechanisms and authoritarian in the management of the sacred, typical procedure in the military authoritarianisms. In the Presbyterian Church of Brazil the defense of the freedom, so divulged and requested ideal of the political liberalism, mainly in what it refers to the freedom of faith and cult, it gave place to a dogmatism that abolished any tolerance to that dared a theological interpretation different from the officially established or a behavior moral divergence of that accepts as having approved starting from a referential ascetic intramundano.
