Improvement of physical, mechanical and strength behavior of cohesive soils with natural pozzolana and brick dust

Chang, E., Chang, E., Villalta, J., Fernandez, C., Duran, G. 28 February 2020 (has links)
This research project seeks to improve soil properties through experimentation with geotechnical purposes. For this, will be used natural volcanic pozzolana in 5%, 10%, 15% and brick dust in 10% giving it a second reuse. The soil improvement will be analyzed with the proposed additions and its influence on the results. It is concluded that the addition improves the behavior of the soil by decreasing its plasticity index, increases the compaction index and improves the geotechnical parameters.

Možnosti využití cihelného recyklátu v pojivových systémech s obsahem p-slínku / Possibilities of using recycled brick in binders systems with p-clinker content

Tušla, Václav January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the preparation binder systems based on Portland clinker and recycled brick. Recycled brick is considered a waste material from construction or production of brick products. This thesis uses finely grounded brick recycled and brick dust, which is produced during final processing of burnt bricks. By incorporating brick dust in alternative system based on Portland clinker could bring ecological and economic benefits. This diploma thesis deals with option using brick dust as pozzolan admixture to Portland clinker, with the aim to prepare and test Portland cement, which is defined in v ČSN EN 197-1. This thesis also deals with possibility preparation of alternative binders based on p-clinker, but those not defined by ČSN EN 197-1. Specifically these are ternary binders with fluid bed ash and binders based on hybrid cements containing sodium sulfate.

Cihelný prach vznikající při broušení pálených zdících tvarovek a možnosti jeho využití / Brick Dust Arising During Grinding of Burnt Brickwork and Possibilities of its Utilization

Kocmánek, Tomáš January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis focuses on the brick dust arising during grinding of burnt brickwork and the possibilities of its utilization. In the theoretical part origin and basic properties of brick dust is described. Some published results of research on the potential utilization of brick dust in various industries are presented here. Also proposal of utilization of brick dust in the ceramic industry is presented. In the practical part two ceramic raw materials and the two brick dust with different granulometry arising during grinding of burnt brickwork (made from these two ceramic raw materials) were selected. The effect of the addition of brick dust to the ceramic raw materials on the physical - mechanical properties of ceramic body after sintering was investigated.

Vliv různé technologie mletí a mechanické aktivace na vlastnosti hydraulických pojiv / Effects of the different grinding technology and of mechanical activation on the properties of hydraulic binders

Hladík, Václav January 2018 (has links)
This diploma thesis mainly tracks the effect of grinding technology on the final properties of portland cement and selected pozzolanic materials. For grinding of portland cement, was also observed the effect of storage time on the final mechanical properties and hydratation process. Pozzolan activity of selected materials was monitored by evaluation of the reaction with CaO by differential thermal analysis.

Vápenné malty modifikované jemně mletým cihelným střepem / Lime Mortars Modified by Fine Ground Brick Body

Šmerdová, Ludmila January 2013 (has links)
Natural pozzolanic materials played an important role in Ancient architecture. In the last decades and nowadays it is artifical pozzolan which especially finds its use as an additive to mortar and concrete to improve some, especially the mechanical properties. This master thesis deals with study of pozzolan type of fine brick powder which is a by-product of the production of calibrated bricks. Along with studying pozzolanic activity of brick powder, lime mortar with different proportions of brick powder as an additive or replacement of lime dust are investigated. What is observed is its impact on the consistency of these mortar, water absorption, strength in time or fracture-mechanical parameters of mortar. The results may indicate the possible potential use of this source of pozzolanic admixture in lime mortar and plaster which are nowadays mainly used for the restoration of facades of historic buildings.

Propuesta de concreto de baja permeabilidad con adición de polvo de ladrillo de arcilla para la construcción de viviendas en ambientes marinos, Cerro Azul Cañete

Castillo Gonzales, Mayela Danixa, Hernández Muñaqui, Kevin Aldo 15 January 2020 (has links)
The deterioration of concrete structures due to the attack of external agents, is one of the problems with more emphasis in the construction sector, since it directly affects the properties of the infrastructure, resulting in a reduction in useful life. On the other hand, we have the increase in constructions close to the sea coast, however, the problem of efflorescence, detachment, corrosion or stains on the concrete arises, due to the attack of sulphates present in seawater, in the soil, and in the humidity. Over the years, products such as additions in the cement composition or non-permeable products have been proposed to apply to concrete, in order to minimize the impact. For the present investigation, the effectiveness of brick dust is studied as a partial replacement for cement, through tests of compressive strength, workability in a fresh state, void content volume and permeability. Tests were carried out with four different replacement proportions such as 5%, 15%, 25% and 30%, for a resistance of f'c 300 kg / cm2. According to the results, it was concluded that the samples with partial replacement of clay brick dust in 25% demonstrate optimal results such as greater resistance, in addition to a low volume of voids content and a low permeability. Likewise, it shows an economic reduction in manufacturing of m3 of 8.72%, compared to the conventional sample. / Tesis
