Behr, Ariel January 2010 (has links)
This Study involves one of the most affected sectors in the Brazilian industry by the lack of business management, which is the Micro and Small Business (MSB), considering that it is composed of organizations with lean settings, usually focused on their target activity, and not on their management. In this scenario, it is given special spotlight to the Information Technology field, more specifically to the software business, which stands out among the other industry activities for its growth. The study also describes the quest to understand this managing difficulty and suggest adequate solutions to Human Resources Management inside organizations, showing a management model that links the strategy to the organizational competences and, consequently, works its functional and individual competences. Moreover, it approaches the organizational management and the ability to articulate in a systematic way the relation between the organizational, functional and individual dimensions of the company’s competence. It also presents the goal of applying a methodology for the implementation of organizational, functional and individual competences’ mapping for a small business in the software industry based on its strategic benchmarks. This research is based upon an exploratory case study conducted in a small software company and it focuses the competences’ mapping, presenting management contributions, where they provide elements for discussion and highlight opportunities to change; industry contributions, introducing factors that influence this market and make up its strategic process, besides presenting a literature search focused on the sector; theoretical contributions, searching for the competences’ mapping in an Organizational Management’s approach, which currently has few and limited studies; and methodological contributions, offering a distinct model from the others found in the literature of competences’ mapping at the organizational, functional and individual levels.

Schön, Hendrik 27 June 2016 (has links)

Evaluation methods for procurement of business critical software systems

Rosén, Nils January 2009 (has links)

The purpose of this thesis is to explore what software evaluation methods are currently available that can assist organizations and companies in procuring a software solution for some particular task or purpose for a specific type of business. The thesis is based on a real-world scenario where a company, Volvo Technology Corporation (VTEC), is in the process of selecting a new intellectual property management system for their patent department. For them to make an informed decision as to which system to choose, an evaluation of market alternatives needs to be done. First, a set of software evaluation methods and techniques are chosen for further evaluation. An organizational study, by means of interviews where questions are based on the ISO 9126-1 Software quality model, is then conducted, eliciting user opinions about the current system and what improvements a future system should have. The candidate methods are then evaluated based on the results from the organizational study and other pertinent factors in order to reach a conclusion as to which method is best suited for this selection problem. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is deemed the best choice.

Budování firmy a jejího informačního systému / Creating a company and its information system

Pokorný, Jakub January 2017 (has links)
There are numerous emerging companies creating interesting and often unique projects in the 21st century. These companies frequently operate in a new, rapidly changing sector. These companies may face an insufficient supply of standardized information software, capable of supporting the business. On the contrary, an individual application software (made from scratch) might not be an option for the companies due to lack of finance to fund its development. Moreover, such SW may not be suitable for companies, especially in a situation when the company starts business activities in a new field, where all the business processes, hence the software requirements, emerge after many test runs and trials. In theory, this thesis focuses on possible solutions to this problem and in practice examines one specific software solution using an example of a property management company Property Rentier s.r.o. (hereinafter PR) which offers complex management services for recreational homes and short-term rental properties, especially using an Airbnb platform. PR has currently been confronted with a decision to make, whether or not to restructure its software solution and its architecture or keep its own and merely keep expanding it. The main goal of this thesis is to analyze and summarize the current processes of the selected company, describe how it is being supported by IT/ICT and, based on these findings, evaluate and recommend further measures regarding restructuring of the companys IT systems. The thesis output is meant for the PR company as well as for any start-up companies as a supportive material which should help ease its struggle making decisions about software development or its purchase.

Metodika řízení požadavků a kvality softwaru s využitím nástroje Enterprise Architect / Methodology for Requirements Engineering and Software Quality Management with the usage of Enterprise Architect tool.

Gottfriedová, Kateřina January 2013 (has links)
Requirements Engineering and Software Quality Management is nowadays considered to be one of the important parts of the software development process. This thesis deals with connecting the theoretical concept of requirements engineering and usage of functions offered by Enterprise Architect tool, which should support the requirements engineering and software quality management processes. The main goal is to propose procedures of Enterprise Architect usage during the project in such a way, which will help to raise quality of the final product. The purpose is to offer a systematic and conscious way of implementation Enterprise Architect elements into software development processes, because this tool is able to support the whole cycle of the product. The methodology was designed as a result of theoretical concept, existing requirements engineering approaches and my own experience acquired during working on projects as a business and test analyst. The contribution of the designed methodology is in bringing recommendations, practices and procedures saying how to use Enterprise Architect during the software development process in order to gain the highest possible software quality. The thesis is structured in four sections describing the appropriate theory, analyzed requirement engineering approaches, critical mistakes during this process and the methodology design.
