Thus, it has the purposes reflect about the problems in relation to the Church s idea which prevailed during the colonization s process in Rond?nia through the Priest Ezequiel s social project development. In this sense, they were raised as objectives of this work researching the Catholicism s social practice in Rond?nia s colonization process and analyze in the historical point of view in the Church's participation in an alternative social work elaboration for the marginalized people in Rond?nia. Furthermore, analyze the church s idea present in this implementing practice. For this purpose, the approach sought to examine and relate the religious field and symbolic power from Bourdieu (2007), and the idea of Roger Chartier s social representation (1991), with the data examined on Priest Ezequiel s Project." Through this path taken it was possible to see a progressive church s profile that besides offering the faithful the "real faith" brought actions aimed at social integration and health conditions to the settlers. / A presente disserta??o procura analisar o perfil do catolicismo no processo de coloniza??o de Rond?nia mediante as a??es realizadas pelo Projeto Pe. Ezequiel, da Diocese de Ji-Paran?-RO, no per?odo do bispado de Dom Ant?nio Possamai (1988 - 2007). Assim, tem a finalidade de refletir sobre a problem?tica a respeito da concep??o de Igreja que predominou no per?odo do processo de coloniza??o em Rond?nia atrav?s do desenvolvimento do Projeto Social Padre Ezequiel. Nesse sentido, foram levantados como objetivos deste trabalho: pesquisar a pr?xis social do catolicismo no processo de coloniza??o de Rond?nia e analisar, do ponto de vista hist?rico, a participa??o da Igreja na elabora??o de alternativas de trabalho social para os povos marginalizados de Rond?nia. Al?m disso, analisar a concep??o de Igreja presente na implementa??o desta pr?xis. Para tanto, a abordagem procurou examinar e relacionar o campo religioso e poder simb?lico a partir de Bourdieu (2007), e o conceito de representa??o social de Roger Chartier (1991), com os dados examinados sobre o Projeto Pe. Ezequiel. Atrav?s deste caminho percorrido foi poss?vel constatar um perfil de igreja progressista que, al?m de oferecer aos fi?is os "bens da f?" proporcionou a??es visando integra??o social e condi??es de sa?de aos colonos.
