1	Unsteady flow in the Third Navigation Channel, Gezhouba Water Control Project, China Zhao, Xiaoxia January 1987 (has links) Based on the de St Venant Equations, the Preissmann's implicit finite difference scheme, and the double sweep algorithm, a mathematical model for one-dimensional subcritical unsteady flow in the Third Navigation Channel at the Gezhouba Water Control Project, China, has been developed. The model has been calibrated and verified using the prototype test data. All conceivable factors affecting wave propagation have been studied parametrically. The side discharge method is considered to be the best way to reduce the amplitudes of both water surface elevation and velocity variations caused by unsteady flow due to the emptying of the lock chamber. Using side discharges to distribute the discharge from the lock chamber along the channel, instead of concentrated discharge at the upstream boundary, improves greatly the navigation conditions. / Master of Science LD5655.V855 1987.Z43
2	Strukturální fondy EU: kontrola projektů OPPP a případová studie / EU Structural Funds: Control of OPPP Projects and Case Study Vaňková, Michaela January 2008 (has links) The objective of the diploma thesis is to explain and evaluate the process of control of projects that were realized within the Operational Programme Industry and Enterprise. The thesis points out the most common problems and mistakes that were discovered during the financial control and extended the proces of control and postponed the payment of grant. Another aim is prosessing of case study of real project and evaluation of its effects and benefits. Firs part of the diploma thesis contains introduction, second part is theoretical. It sets Operational Programme Industry and Enterprise into wider context. It defines EU regional and structural policies and their objectives. It also mentions particular structural funds. Second part also talks about legislative framework concerning these policies. And this part also mentions operational programmes'administration. Third part of the diploma thesis is concerned with the Operational Programme Industry and Enterprise (OPPP). It describes individual OPPP support programmes from which it was possible to draw the support. Beside that, it shows the process through which the project of applier had to go from application for support, through authorisation to realization and control of project. Fourth part of thesis deals with the control of projects and the main focus is on the financial control. Fifth part contains the case study of real project. The conclusion contains evaluation of projects control process and also evaluation of project that was analysed in the case sudy.

4	Salinity Control Planning in the Colorado River System (invited) Maletic, John T. 20 April 1974 (has links) From the Proceedings of the 1974 Meetings of the Arizona Section - American Water Resources Assn. and the Hydrology Section - Arizona Academy of Science - April 19-20, 1974, Flagstaff, Arizona / In the lower reaches of the Colorado River, damages from the increase in salinity to U.S. water users are now estimated to be about 53 million dollars per year and will increase to about 124 million dollars per year by the year 2000 if no salinity control measures are taken. Physical, legal, economic, and institutional aspects of the salinity problem and proposed actions to mesh salinity control with a total water management plan for the basin are discussed. A scheme is presented for planning under the Colorado River water quality improvement program. Recent legislative action is also discussed which provides control plans to improve the water quality delivered to Mexico as well as upper basin water users. These efforts now under study will assure the continued, full utility of Colorado River water to U.S. users and Mexico. However, more extensive development of the basin's natural resources puts new emphasis on total resources management through improved water and land use planning to conserve a most precious western resource - water.
