Grecco, Fabiana Miraz Freitas. January 2010 (has links)
The poetry of Brazilian Domingos Caldas Barbosa (1740 - 1800) entitled Lereno' Viola (1798 - 1826), which corresponds to the poetic-musical genres and folk songs called lundus an modinhas and Cape Verdean poet Eugenio Tavares (1867 - 1930), which corresponds to Mornas - Creole Songs (1930), popular songs of Cape Verde, have great similarity in relation to the theme of love. According to cape-verdean musicologist Vasco Martins, morna, modinha and lundu have many points in common as harmony, chords and the minor key, but, moreover, is identifiable, especially the sentimental love that one expressed through a language different from those found in Portuguese literature. Therefore we propose in this research a comparative study of Caldas Barbosa's modinhas and lundus between Eugénio Tavares's mornas. Thus, we will seek a new concept of love in the two poets, by analyzing the subject in comparative literature, to show from it, what Elizabeth Frenzel calls motivic innovation / Mestre
