Circulou privilegiando, principalmente, as vistas das cidades. Assim, comp?s uma tr?ade entre a paisagem, a fotografia e o turismo. A visualidade que carrega articula-se entre ind?cios de representa??es, rela??es, formas de consci?ncia coletiva e de maneiras de ver o mundo. Em Natal, o fot?grafo Jaeci Emerenciano Galv?o registrou as transforma??es urbanas e sociais, com foco nas interven??es que enfatizavam os centros urbanos, como espa?o social e de progresso e a natureza como espa?o de contempla??o e frui??o. S?o imagens com quest?es sociais e culturais muito claras, j? que a fotografia existe a partir de um processo de cria??o que consiste em escolhas e decis?es sobre o que merece ser fotografado. Assim sendo, a presente pesquisa investiga o papel das fotografias evidenciadas nos cart?es-postais, de Jaeci, tendo em vista a inser??o do turismo nos espa?os natalenses e a visualidade assumida no contexto de sua pr?pria identidade. O arcabou?o te?rico que comp?e as discuss?es a respeito da paisagem, da cidade, do turismo e da representa??o fotogr?fica nos cart?es-postais, est? focada na pesquisa bibliogr?fica fundamentada nas ideias de Schama (1996), Corbin (1989), Cosgrove (1998), Kossoy (2003; 2006; 2009), entre outros. Essa investiga??o, contribuiu para interpretar e compreender a constru??o simb?lica apresentada nos cart?es-postais. Metodologicamente o trabalho foi elaborado, tamb?m, atrav?s de pesquisa em acervos, jornais, levantamento dos cart?es-postais, entrevistas e a an?lise iconogr?fica e iconol?gica proposta por Kossoy. Ao final, conclui-se que os cart?es-postais de Jaeci Galv?o estabeleceram-se como elementos essenciais para a representa??o simb?lica das paisagens tur?sticas em Natal. / The postcard is a medium that has gained popularity at the time that the picture was linked to its support. It circulated favoring mainly the views of the cities and composed a triad between landscape, photography and tourism. The visuality that loads is among signs of representations, relationships, forms of collective consciousness and ways of seeing the world. In Natal, the photographer Jaeci Emereciano Galv?o registered urban and social transformations focusing on interventions that emphasized urban centres as social space and progress and nature as a space for contemplation and enjoyment. They are images with social and cultural issues very clear, since the picture is from a process of creation that is all about choices and decisions about what deserves to be photographed. Therefore, the aim of this research by investigating the role of photographs evidenced in Jaeci?s postcards, with a view to inclusion of tourism in the spaces of Natal and the visuality assumed in the context of their own identity. The theoretical framework that makes up the discussions about the landscape, the city's tourism and photographic representation in postcards emerged from the literature of Schama (1996), Corbin (1989), Cosgrove (1998), Benjamin (1987), Kossoy (2003; 2006; 2009) and Souza Martins (2009), which gave grants to interpret and understand the symbolic construction presented in the postcards. Methodologically the work was done through research in archives, newspapers, postcards of the survey, interviews, iconographic and iconological analyses proposed by Kossoy. At the end, it was concluded the Jaeci Galv?o?s postcards established themselves as essential elements for symbolic landscapes of tourism in Natal.
