We evidenced the necessity of re-elaboration of the speechs and the practices of the Catholic Church, so that this acts as an agent of social inclusion and that avoid the significant lost of the devoted people. We identified through the research a distanciation of the Church with the family reality (differentiated) led by women, as well as a distanciation and/or a fragile relation of these women with the religious Catholic space. / Neste trabalho investigamos as famílias chefiadas por mulheres, a Igreja Católica, a partir dos documentos oficiais sobre família, bem como os desafios que tal realidade familiar apresenta à Igreja. Evidenciamos a necessidade de uma reelaboração dos discursos e práticas da Igreja Católica, para que esta atue enquanto agente de inclusão social e que evite a perda significativa de fiéis. Identificamos pela pesquisa, um distanciamento da Igreja com a realidade familiar (diferenciada) chefiada por mulheres, assim como um distanciamento e/ou frágil relação destas mulheres com o espaço religioso católico.

Gildenor Carneiro dos SANTOS. Religião, sociedade e educação: ações do padre Demócrito Mendes de Barros em de Educação, Universidade de São Paulo, São Paulo, 2006. Trata-se de uma pesquisa histórica sobre um padre que também foi professor, que procura mostrar que ele atuava organizando grupos sociais, como, por exemplo, o Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais e a Cooperativa Mista dos Agricultores de Serrinha, porque era educador. Tem por objetivos: 1) identificar as contribuições do padre Demócrito Mendes de Barros para a sociedade serrinhense, na Bahia; 2) verificar a presença de características educativas em suas ações; 3) registrar as alterações sociais ocorridas entre 1950 e 1992 na cidade; 4)verificar a relação entre alterações sociais e ações educativas do padre Demócrito. Na fundamentação teórica, com leituras principalmente de obras de Celso de Rui Beisiegel, Paulo Freire e Luiz Eduardo Wanderley, procura identificar quais são as características de educador, diferenciando-o do profissional professor; tece algumas considerações sobre movimentos sociais e sobre a influência da Igreja Católica nos movimentos sociais no Nordeste. Procura responder à pergunta se os múltiplos papéis desempenhados por Demócrito Mendes de Barros na sociedade serrinhense, na Bahia, atuando como padre, como organizador social e como professor, são expressões da personalidade do educador. Foi utilizada história oral, complementada com fontes documentais, jornalísticas e iconográficas. Como resultados mostra o papel significativo que têm os educadores para a organização da sociedade, bem como para as transformações sociais, mostra uma série de características de educadores, apresenta algumas conclusões sobre a maneira como atuam os educadores, além de significativos registros de história da educação em Serrinha-BA e contribui para que se compreenda a inserção de Demócrito Mendes de Barros na trajetória política-partidária dos grupos dominantes no município. / SANTOS, Gildenor Carneiro dos. Objectives: 1) To identify the contributions of father Demócrito to Serrinha Society; 2) To verify the educational characteristics present in his actions; 3) To register the social alterations that happened between 1950 and 1992; 4) To verify the relation between social alterations and the educational actions of father Demócrito. By reading mainly works of Celso de Rui Beisiegel, Paulo Freire and Luiz Eduardo Wanderley, in order to make the theoretical foundation of this work, I characterize the educator, differentiating him from the professional teacher, and I intend to explain about social movements and about the influence of Catholic Church on social movements in Northeast. I try to answer the question whether the multiple roles played by Demócrito Mendes de Barros in Serrinha society, Bahia state, acting as a priest, as a social organizer and as a teacher, are expressions of an educator. In this research I used oral information, documentary, journalistic and iconographic sources. It is shown the significant role played by educators in organizing society. Several of his characteristics are raised, conclusions about the way educators are formed are obtained, meaningful registers about Serrinha educational history are made, and Demócrito Mendes de Barros is included in the trajectory of the political parties in the dominant groups of this city.
