Itâs about the genesis, development, structure and practices of a religious community to Central Baptist Church of Fortaleza (IBC), generated under the influence of charismatic leadership exerted by Pastor Armando Bispo da Cruz, whose charisma authentication mode the held in spectacular celebrations. This research has like a theoretical reference contributions of Max Weber (1989, 1982, 1994, 1999), Pierre Bourdieu (1984 and 1992), Jean Paul Willaime (1986, 2000, 2002, 2003 e 2009), Paul Zumthor (1997 and 2000) and Renato Cohen (2007), ), among other authors who were also important for this work. Besides the literature, procedures were employed for qualitative research, such as image analysis, observation, interviews and informal conversations to gather data. The genesis and development of the religious Protestant brazilian field are presented in general terms, allowing us to understand the emergence and expansion of the IBC, a new Protestant communities whose administrative structure and strategic organization serve as support for the exercise of charismatic leadership and prophetic, in the Weberian sense. Starting still from a historical approach on the temples in Christianity, specifically Protestantism, it analyzes the use this communitÂs greatest place of celebrations, the Tent, like a space of spectacle, scene of performances. From this perspective, since the held ethnography, the sunday celebrations are analyzed. The relationship between the prophetic role and performance are analyzed, allowing us to understand how to articulate in order of authentication of charisma.

Zum besseren Verständnis von Evaluationen verschiedener Lehrformate: Wie Charisma der Dozierenden und studentische Technikaffinität die Wahrnehmung didaktischer Qualität beeinflussen / For a better understanding of evaluations of different teaching formats: How teacher charisma and student digital affinity influence the perception of didactic quality

Weigel, Sandra Carina January 2024 (has links) (PDF)
Since the beginning of the new millennium, tablets have become increasingly important in medical teaching. In this study, a tablet-based and a teacher-centred teaching format were compared in the context of a radiology seminar. The aim was to gain comparative insights into estimated and objective learning gain and perceived didactic quality, and to investigate possible influences of teacher charisma and student digital affinity on these variables. Data on student digital affinity in general as well as didactic quality and satisfaction with the seminars depending on the teaching format were collected from n=366 students over three semesters. In the last semester, students also estimated their learning gain, completed a knowledge and image interpretation test and rated teacher charisma. Maximum likelihood factor analysis was used to provide a structural elucidation of didactic quality and charisma. Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated to investigate possible correlations between the variables. A structural regression model of teacher charisma, student digital affinity, and didactic quality was constructed and a linear regression equation was derived. The tablet-based teaching format was attributed significantly higher values in didactic quality and student satisfaction. The teacher-centred format, on the other hand, performed significantly better in estimated and objective learning gain. Only in tablet-based teaching did teacher charisma correlate with estimated learning gain. Student digital affinity had a stronger effect on didactic quality in this format. In addition, good organization, clear learning objectives, and adequate variation of learning activities were identified as important factors. This study highlights the relevance of teacher charisma and student digital affinity in ensuring high didactic quality in tablet-based teaching. It also shows the importance of congruence of learning objectives, teaching concept, and assessment method of this teaching format to ensure high academic performance. The factors examined should be objectified via specific measuring instruments when designing digital teaching concepts and trained or adapted as necessary to ensure successful integration of digital media in medical teaching.

Les intellectuels dans l'entourage des personnalités politiques charismatiques françaises de 1945 à 1995 / The intellectuals among the entourage of the French charismatic political personalities from 1945 to 1995

Mary, Nicolas 17 September 2010 (has links)
The “intellectuals” were born during the Dreyfus lawsuit and, in the beginning, the neologism was used to refer to the cultural vanguard daring enough to defy the reason of State. As a consequence, the intellectuals' traditional ways of political commitment somehow oppose them to the governing elites of whom they tend to become the bad conscience. Thus, according to Pierre Bourdieu: “the intellectual (…) gives rise to a policy of the purity which appears to be the perfect antithesis of the reason of State.” So it seems relevant to focus on those of them who didn't accept this role of criticism and confronted themselves with the reality of power. Furthermore, the intellectuals that we shall study present another characteristic: they supported a charismatic political leader. For several commentators, emotionality and irrationality are essential elements in the definition of charisma. It can thus seem paradoxical to see the members of a certain cultural elite binding to such leaders. In fact, the study of the relations between intellectuals and charismatic personalities can be a way of demystifying this power that remains partly unexplained.

Religion and science embraced: how a religion actively teaches and utilizes alternative religious and scientific knowledge without conflicting interpretations arising

Jean, Jason Allan 30 May 2011
Religious fundamentalism is a confusing and not well understood phenomenon in present day Western societies. In order to obtain fresh insights into what social forces and conditions affect religious organizational development such that they become fundamentalist organizations, this study seeks to analyze a religious group that historically has been mandated to integrate and utilize alternative scientific and/or religious knowledge into their canon of teachings. A triangulation study consisting of a content analysis of its accepted history and a discourse analysis of its accredited membership are utilized to gather data on this religious organization to understand the historical, organizational, and external social circumstances that have allowed this religious community to engage and interact with alternative scientific and/or religious knowledge without interpretations of conflict becoming a source of social strife within their organization.

A holistic view of the creative potential of performance practice in contemporary music

Lüneburg, Barbara January 2013 (has links)
The creative potential and work of the performer in new music extends from the moment of conceptualising a concert to the moment of presenting it on stage and comprises many areas between and around those two points. In this thesis I explore the nature of this activity, from the act of playing itself to the commissioning and creating of new pieces, curatorial and collaborative tasks, and the actual concert presentation. I deliberately include interrelations between performer and music promoters, composers and the audience. This leads me to further areas of investigation, namely the question of the performer’s leadership, the charismatic bond with the audience and the creation of what I call “concert aura”. I do not strive to offer all-purpose formulae for the “perfect concert” or for the ideal collaboration. I investigate performance practice not as an absolute art but rather as something embedded in and shaped by social relations and society. Accordingly I understand this thesis as an empirically based study of the questions performers could ask, as well as processes in which they might want to engage, to find meaningful solutions for each new situation. Not all of the questions I raise will be new to each performer, but in their collaborative and concert practice many performers rely on a random, unsystematic, empirical understanding that has been gained by chance. In contrast, I attempt to draw a theoretical basis for my investigation from the fields of psychology, philosophy, media science and sociology, together with the evaluation of my own and other artists’ performance practice. In this way I hope to develop an academic foundation and a comprehensive, systematic approach that can be applied to different collaboration and concert situations. Part 1 of my thesis is concerned with theories and concepts relating to creativity, collaboration and presentation (concert aura and charisma) and aims to establish a firm theoretical basis for application in practice. Part 2 presents, discusses and analyses a selection of case studies from my own practice, considered in relation to the theories discussed in the first part. I conclude by offering guidelines to collaboration and giving a model example of how one might plan a future performance, aiming to create a Gesamtkunstwerk through the totality of the preparation and presentation, its social and psychological connotations. The thesis includes two DVDs with Quicktime Movies and two CDs with recordings of the compositions, commissioned as part of this research and discussed throughout the thesis. The Appendix contains three sample-CDs with an accompanying commentary which give an introduction to contemporary playing techniques for the acoustic and electronic violin and acoustic viola. This CD is intended as a guide for composers to get acquainted with the instruments and was given to each composer involved in this research.
