電視模式(TV formats)在全球的跨文化旅行,及其如何本土化以適應在地社會政經情境,成為值得學界關注和研究的主題。作為對這一主題的回應,本文致力於研究《醜女無敵》電視劇--“醜女貝蒂“模式在中國的本土化。借由對該劇文本、生產和觀眾解讀的綜合分析,本研究從宏觀上探索符號形式與中國社會變遷的關係。具體而言,研究者聚焦於以下研究問題:在當前電視模式貿易、克隆和本土化的背景下,中國電視劇《醜女無敵》與美國電視劇《醜女貝蒂》有何異同?在中華人民共和國這一特定社會情境下,《醜女無敵》受到了怎樣的政治、經濟限制?中國觀眾如何解讀《醜女無敵》電視劇?《醜女無敵》受歡迎的原因所在,及該劇表徵了怎樣的中國現代性? / 為回答以上問題,研究者採用了多種定質方法,即文本分析、民族志、焦點小組、檔案分析和深度訪談。其研究發現《醜女無敵》作為混雜性文本,兼有西方現代性元素和獨特的中國性。《醜女無敵》的生產受到了中國政經情境的極大限制。經濟力量有中心主導、系統地控制著生產過程。而政治力量的控制卻是散漫於整個生產者社群,并呈現去中心的狀態。中國觀眾在解讀《醜女無敵》時主要有两種模式:霸權式解讀与協商式解讀。而对抗式解读却在该剧的解读模式中呈现缺失状态。持有霸權式解讀的觀眾作為主流在諸多方面與權力中心一致,從而形成霸權效應。 / 《醜女無敵》可歸類為本研究所析霸權文本,并表徵和複製了一種中國現代(Chinese modernity)。轄制於党國,中國現代性在其三大結構性維度上都呈現高度的混雜性。就中國電視業發展趨勢而言,研究者認為全球電視模式在中國將愈加繁榮,因其有極大潛質成為霸權文本,繼而服務于權力中心。 / With the increasing transcultural flow of television formats, the localization of these formats to fit various socio-political contexts is worthy of academic scrutiny. This is a case study on the TV drama Ugly Wudi (Chounv Wudi), the Chinese version of the global Ugly Betty format. Exploring textuality, production, and reception simultaneously, my dissertation sheds light on the relationship between symbolic forms and social transition in China. Specifically speaking, the research questions initiating this study are as follows: Under current TV format cloning, trading, and borrowing, what are the similarities and differences between the Chinese Ugly Wudi and the American Ugly Betty? In the specific context of the People’s Republic of China, what are the political and economic forces that constrain the production of Ugly Wudi? What are the audience interpretations of Ugly Wudi? What accounts for Ugly Wudi’s popularity, and to what extent does it reflect a Chinese version of modernity? / Multiple qualitative methods have been applied by the researcher to explicate the research questions, including textual analysis, ethnography, focus groups, archival analysis, and in-depth interviews. It is found that Ugly Wudi is a hybridized text that combines elements of Western modernity with Chinese particularities. As for Wudi’s production, there are significant constraints arising from China’s political economy. While the economic systematically controls the production with a center, the political is a decentered control pervasively conditioning the production community. Two different readings of the Wudi show are found, namely, the hegemonic reading and the negotiated reading; while the resistant reading is absent in the show’s viewership. The hegemonic audience forms the majority, coinciding with the authorities in many respects, which shows a hegemonic effect. / Ugly Wudi is a hegemonic text that can best represent and reproduce Chinese modernity. Charted by the party-state for legitimization, Chinese modernity shows a high degree of hybridization in its three structural dimensions. 本論文以「黃牧甫生平及篆刻藝術之研究」為題目,旨在對其生平及篆刻藝術作系統整理和討論。黃牧甫(1849-1908/1909),安徽黟縣人,為晚清最重要的篆刻家之一。由於家庭濡染,自幼便對篆學產生興趣,八、九歲始習刻印。後因太平軍與清軍戰,家園被毀,困苦失學,雙親亦相繼離世,為補生計,被迫離鄉到江西南昌謀生,曾於照相館工作,後遷廣州,改以鬻書治印自給。黃牧甫為晚清集大成的印人,尤對廣東印壇產生源遠的影響,故被譽為「嶺南派」之初袓。 / 黃牧甫初宗「鄧派」鄧石如(1743-1805)、吳讓之(1799-1870),後服膺於趙之謙(1829-1884)的印學主張,取徑「印外求印」,故面貌多樣,印文體勢獨特。又取法漢印模式,講究完整光潔,運以衝刀,不作斷續刻劃,點劃乾淨俐落。尤精於章法,平正而不落呆板,自創一格,繼「鄧派」後於晚清印壇上別樹一幟。 / 在黃印的整理方面,本研究主要以「摹擬期」、「蛻變期」、「成熟期」作為分期,以便探討其不同時期的篆刻特質。據本研究所搜集,黃氏存世印蛻約有二千四百方。它們被整合分析,編成年譜,建構一個系統、完備的資料庫。其中印款資料更提供了珍貴的第一手資料,增補了歷史文獻上的不足。 / 黃牧甫一生治印不斷,作品極豐,然卻失散各地,難以匯集。幸而,其印譜的流傳卻相對豐富,最重要的要數黃氏生前自輯《般若波羅蜜心經印譜》、《黃牧甫自存印譜》及《黃穆甫印存續補》,故印貌得以保存,為後世留下重要的研究資料。當中《黃穆甫印存續補》所錄印拓,更對研究黃氏「成熟期」印風非常重要。由於此譜為海外孤本,且尚未見世,所以目前有關黃牧甫的著述,均未能涵蓋這部重要資料。然在此論文發表前,因得機緣而認識收藏家林章松先生,得其不吝嗇借出此譜作研究之用,確為本研究提供有力依據和借鑒。 / 黃牧甫為晚清重要的篆刻家,具相當高的研究價值,更是探究流派篆刻由傳統走向當代的關鍵人物,惜至今其系統研究卻極之匱乏。本論文將綜合歷史、文化、社會及藝術等不同角度,並借鑒相關學術領域的研究方法和成果,透過文獻及視覺分析,對黃牧甫的生平和篆刻藝術作全面考述,從而建立一份可靠的研究資料,令篆刻藝術史有更大的發展空間。 / Entitled “A Study of Huang Mufu’s Life and Seal Engraving Art, this paper aims to investigate his life and art of seal engraving. Huang Mufu (1849-1908/1909), born in Anhui Province, was one of the most important seal engravers in the late Qing dynasty. / Huang Mufu first learned from Deng Shiru (1743-1805) and Wu Rangzhi (1799-1870) of the Deng school, and later followed the thinking of “seeking artistic links for seal making of Zhao Zhiqian (1829-1884). Therefore, his seals took on various forms and his seal inscriptions were unique. He also drew on the pattern of seals of the Han dynasty, which pursued tidiness and smoothness and applied Swift knife to create clean and neat strokes. He created his own style that was peculiar in the late Qing dynasty and had far-reaching influence on the seal engraving community of Guangdong Province, so he was renowned as the originator of the Lingnan school. / Huang made seals throughout his life and left over rich works. According to the information collected from this research, Huang has about 2,400 seals, which have been analyzed, integrated and chronicled into a systematic and complete database. Many of his seal impressions and colophons provide rare firsthand information for this paper, and hoped to serve as important materials for later studies. Based on the collected sources, this study divided Huang’s career into the imitation, transmutation and maturation stages, in order to discuss his seals’ characteristics in different periods. / There has been an extreme scarcity of studies on this topic. Therefore, this paper made a comprehensive study which involved a survey of the primary and secondary literature on Huang Mufu’s life and career. An analysis of the relevant sources enables his career to be reconstructed on a sound chronological basis, and allows his work to be seen in its proper context. / This study also made an important contribution to a relatively little-studied area of the history of Chinese art. It corrected a number of misconceptions in previous studies and make up literature deficiencies. 戰爭與國家的形成、發展與變化具有密切的關係,只是戰爭對不同國家所產生的影響有著不同的程度而已。學者研究戰爭在國史上的影響時,其視線往往只停留在戰爭與近代中國發展的關係,尤其關注戰爭如何促使近代中國發展成具備現代意義的國家。然而,戰爭對古代中國同樣產生了深遠的影響。 / 國史上有所謂「中興」,就是王朝因外族入侵或內部叛亂而導致覆亡,在文臣武將的支持下,宗室成員或成功撲滅叛亂勢力,或成功抵擋入侵勢力,從而延續了王朝的統治,南宋就屬於這一類中興王朝,宋高宗(1127-1162在位)亦被視為中興之主。宣和七年(1125),金人撕毀了與北宋簽定的合作協議,揮軍南侵,兵鋒直抵北宋國都開封。雖然宋廷成功通過議和讓金人退兵,但是,金人很快就再次南侵,並攻破開封,徽宗(1101-1125在位)、欽宗(1126-1127位)及大批宗室、士民成為金人俘虜。高宗在臣民支持下繼承皇位於應天府,開創建了南宋王朝。從高宗繼位伊始,直至紹興十二年(1142)宋金締結和約的十多年間,兩國一直處於敵對狀態,戰事不斷。如何建構一套適應戰爭形勢的國家體制,以保障新生政權得以延續,就成為高宗及其委任的宰相所必須要面對的問題。呂頤浩(1071-1139)在這段戰爭時期兩次拜相,是南宋成功擺脫危機、走向穩定的重要人物之一。 / 本論文以戰爭與南宋的關係為框架,以呂頤浩執政期間所從事的戰時建設為研究個案,目的是分析高宗初年的宰相在面對王朝處於戰爭時,是如何從制度變革入手去從事內部建設,以及這些變革所產生的影響。本論文有兩個核心部分:第一部分是分析呂頤浩各方面的資訊,包括家世背景、仕宦經歷、性格特點、人際網絡關係,以及高宗起用他為相的幾個關鍵因素,上述的討論將有助於我們理解及解釋呂頤浩執政期間的作為;第二部分是分析呂頤浩執政期間所建構的戰時政治體制及戰時財政體制,以及這些措施對南宋得以存續所產生的效用,以及對南宋的政治發展、制度變革產生了甚麼樣的影響。 / Wars are said to have a profound influence on a country’s formation, development, and change. Previous studies of Chinese war history focused on its modern period, and, in particular, how China transformed into a modern country. However, wars have also had great impact on traditional China. / In Chinese historiography there is a phenomenon called zhongxing 中興 (restoration). Non-Han Chinese invasions or civil wars resulted in the collapse of some empires. With the support of civil and military officials, imperial clan members suppress rebel forces, or resisted invasions from non- Han Chinese peoples, and thus continued the reign of the dynasty. The Southern Song is recognized as a period of restoration engineered by Emperor Gaozong 高宗. / In 1125, the Jurchen emperor subverted the cooperation agreement signed with the Northern Song, and led his army towards Kaifeng, the Northern Song capital. The Song court made peace with the Jurchen army, who soon invaded Kaifeng again, and eventually destroyed this Chinese empire. Emperor Huizong 徽宗, Emperor Qinzong 欽宗, a large number of imperial clan, as well as people in the city were all captured by the Jurchen. Gaozong inherited the throne at Yingtianfu 應天府, which marked the setting up of the Southern Song dynasty. From then on, the Song and the Jurchen were in a state of hostility for more than 10 years until they signed a peace treaty in 1142. During the wartime, Gaozong and his subordinates were faced with the problem of how to construct a wartime institution to protect the new regime’s continuity. It is in this critical moment of history that Lü Yihao (1071-1139) was appointed twice by Gaozong as chief minister. And Lü became one of the most important figures of the Southern Song who overcame the crisis and led the country into stability. / The relationship between wars and the Southern Song dynasty forms the framework of this dissertation, with the wartime construction pushed forward by Lü as a case study. The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the way how Lü engages the internal construction to start from the institutional change, as well as the impact of these changes. / This dissertation is in two components. The first one is an analysis of basic information pertaining to Lü Yihao’s family and education background, experience in officialdom, personality characteristics, social network, and why Gaozong appointed him as chief minister. This will help us understand Lü’s policy in detail.
