This answer will be an-swered by studying of literature focused on this issue and by a research at chosen elemen-tary school. Design of research is taken from study of Klaassen and Huwae (2006) which has been done recently at Netherland elementary schools. There is no study like that in the Czech Republic and this thesis should bring basic information about this issue.

Evropská nadace a její význam pro rozvoj evropské občanské společnosti / European foundation and its importance for the development of the European civil societyVršovská, Jitka January 2013 (has links)
This master thesis is based on the presumption that efforts to build a European civil society will lead to a more efficient solution of problems on the European level. It aims to draw the importance of the European foundation project presented by the European Commission in the context of the development of a European civil society. This topic is very interesting due to its up-to-dateness because during the process of elaborating this thesis the proposal of the statute is being discussed on the European level and its adoption is expected in a short time. Potential benefits of this proposal are, however, to be seen already now and they reflect the expectations of the interested subjects, i.e. both the European institutions and civil society organizations. Key words: European Union, civil society, European foundation

The role of the civil society in the transformation of Egypt, Libya and TunisiaJiránková, Adéla January 2014 (has links)
Diploma thesis focuses on the role of the Civil Society in the processes of transition to democracy as a part of the possible democratization wave in the Middle East also know as the Arab Spring. For the purposes of the thesis the author examines three case studies of countries with successful revolutions - Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia. Using the method of process-tracing with focus on the path-dependency it traces the changes in the dynamics of the Civil Society in the pre-revolutionary period, concretely during Mubarak's regime in Tunisia, Qaddafi's rule in Libya, and Ben Ali's regime in Tunisia, through the revolutions to the post-revolutionary period. Moreover, the main assumption is that the initial non- democratic regimes have been significantly influencing the transformation process of all three countries and this also applies to the Civil Society as such. The Civil Society, in this thesis, is based on two paradigms. The first is based on the liberal modernization framework and the second is connected with stagnation and socio-economic deprivation. This unique combination contributed to the transformation of Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia. The dynamics of the Civil Society is then determined by several factors, which are: Civil Society organizations, social media and networks, youth education, economic...

The Relationship between the Church and the Reign of God in the Reconstruction Theology of JNK Mugambi: A critical analysisFischer, John Hugo January 2005 (has links)
Doctor Theologiae - DTh / Reconstruction theology is widely regarded as one of the most influential approaches to contemporary African Christian theology - alongside others such as inculturation theology, liberation theology, African women's theology, evangelical theology and Pentecostal theology. In this thesis I offer a critical assessment of one of the main exponents of such reconstruction theology, namely the Kenyan theologian Jesse Mugambi. I explore the question of how his position on the notion of reconstruction should be understood. One point of entry into understanding Mugambi's views on reconstruction is to explore his position on the relationship between the church and the coming reign of God. In the history of Christianity this relationship has been understood in widely divergent ways. The task of this thesis will therefore be to examine, position, analyse and assess Mugambi's particular view in this regard. This will be done on the basis of a close reading of Mugambi's publications such as African Christian Theology: an Introduction (1989), From Liberation to Reconstruction: African Christian Theology after the Cold War (1995), Christian Theology and Social Reconstruction (2003), and numerous chapters in publications by African theologians.

Water and Power: The Environmental Politics of a Virginia ReservoirFlanery, Trevor H. 22 May 1999 (has links)
This thesis attempts to problematize the power relations in environmental administration and decision making through the analytical lens of environmental discourse and ethics. It argues that developments in environmental politics reveal a marked increase in democratic involvement through an emerging ecological civil society as reflected in the case study of the proposed King William Reservoir in Virginia. An ecological civil society could become the leaders and educators in communities to develop the expertise needed for responsible democratic participation in environmental decision making at the local level. As reflected in the case study, however, official political marginalization and exclusion of the public are continued features of federal and state environmental processes and structures. These processes and structures should be re-formed to include new democratic elements which would increase local control and responsibility for environmental transformations, and reduce conflicts overall. / Master of Science
