Espetáculos e invisibilidades do discurso legitimador do turismo / Spectacles and invisibilities of legitimizing discourse of tourism

Hintze, Helio César 09 August 2013 (has links)
The aim of this work is to propose and encourage critical reflection on the discursive production of tourism in contemporaneity, in other words, on how tourism is being constructed by different kinds of speeches prepared by different actors. The main working hypothesis is that the discursive production of tourism is not simple communication, but a process of persuasion as it has been used intentionally by powerful social actors who wish to legitimize their own interests in the name of what they call tourism. Therefore, such production is not a neutral activity, but an instrument of a power play: tourism is one of the most finished devices already developed for capitalist subjectivity. The object of analysis of this thesis is the \'legitimating discursive production of tourism\'. The methodology of this study is the Critical Analysis of Discourses. The thesis is divided into six chapters. At the end, in the form of final remarks, propose new critical studies to tourism.

Mathematical theory of the Flutter Shutter : its paradoxes and their solution / Théorie mathématique du Flutter Shutter : ses paradoxes et leur solution

Tendero, Yohann 22 June 2012 (has links)
This thesis provides theoretical and practical solutions to two problems raised by digital photography of moving scenes, and infrared photography. Until recently photographing moving objects could only be done using short exposure times. Yet, two recent groundbreaking works have proposed two new designs of camera allowing arbitrary exposure times. The flutter shutter of Agrawal et al. creates an invertible motion blur by using a clever shutter technique to interrupt the photon flux during the exposure time according to a well chosen binary sequence. The motion-invariant photography of Levin et al. gets the same result by accelerating the camera at a constant rate. Both methods follow computational photography as a new paradigm. The conception of cameras is rethought to include sophisticated digital processing. This thesis proposes a method for evaluating the image quality of these new cameras. The leitmotiv of the analysis is the SNR (signal to noise ratio) of the image after deconvolution. It gives the efficiency of these new camera design in terms of image quality. The theory provides explicit formulas for the SNR. It raises two paradoxes of these cameras, and resolves them. It provides the underlying motion model of each flutter shutter, including patented ones. A shorter second part addresses the the main quality problem in infrared video imaging, the non-uniformity. This perturbation is a time-dependent noise caused by the infrared sensor, structured in columns. The conclusion of this work is that it is not only possible but also efficient and robust to perform the correction on a single image. This permits to ensure the absence of ``ghost artifacts'', a classic of the literature on the subject, coming from inadequate processing relative to the acquisition model.

Biografické romány Františka Kožíka o Zdence Braunerové ve srovnání s dochovanou korespondencí / František Kožík's Biograpfical novels about Zdenka Braunerová Compared to the extant correspondence

Braunová, Linda January 2014 (has links)
BRAUNOVÁ, L.: František Kožík's biographical novels about Zdenka Braunerová compared to the extant correspondence /Master Degree Thesis/ Prague 2014, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, Departement of the Czech Literature. This Master Degree Thesis compares Kožík's novels Na křídle větrného mlýna and Neklidné babí léto with the extant correspondence, which is used in different ways in both novels. The starting point was extensive research, which provided a precise undertanding of the author's intentions. The goal was to find out how the author forms the characters and their relationship using sources, especially the correspondence. At the same time this thesis delineates the difference between facts and fiction with an example of Kožík's novels.

Hranice archetypu a stereotypu v tzv. červené knihovně / The Boundary between the Archetype and Stereotype in the Love Romance Stories

Štelová, Diana January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to cover the structure and functioning of archetypes, stereotypes or emblems in selected genres of popular literature - the romance novels and comics. A similar structure of mythization in the popular genres is revealed through mutual comparison. Selected works are analyzed on the basis of Jungian psychology and its concepts of the unconscious and the archetypal image. The original myths, fairy tales, other popular genres and some works of the European fictional tradition are involved in the comparison. Among others, this thesis also draws from approaches included in various works of sociology, ethnography, Religious Studies and feminist literary criticism. The comparative analysis has shown that provable connection between popular literature and the original myth structures can be traced and the collective unconscious serves as a transmission medium. The genres of popular literature are worthy of further research because they reflect not only contemporary social situation but also essential structures of the human psyche. This thesis clearly demonstrates that the romance novels and comics are valid parts of the literary sphere and suggests one of the possible ways suitable for further study of the subject.
