AUTOMATION SYSTEM FOR THE FLIGHT TEST LABORATORY (SALEV)Sousa, Lucas Benedito dos Reis, Leite, Nelson Paiva Oliveira, Walter, Fernando, Cunha, Wagner Chiepa 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2006 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-Second Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 23-26, 2006 / Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, California / A novel Automation System for the Flight Test Laboratory (SALEV) is developed in full compliance with EA-4/02 Standard (i.e. Expression of the Uncertainty of Measurement in Calibration) to compute the uncertainty of the measurement at the calibration laboratory of the Flight Tests Group (GEEV). The GEEV performs flight test campaigns to certificate and/or develop aircrafts and its systems. Then, flight tests instrumentation (FTI) systems are developed and installed in the test bed. The FTI data acquisition complies with IRIG Standard. The FTI is composed by a data acquisition system, which performs signal conditioning, sampling and quantization of all measurements provided by a set of transducers. All parameters are coded in a PCM format and represented in a non-dimensional numerical form (i.e. counts). To allow the establishment of a relation between the non-dimensional form and the physical
quantity, a calibration process is carried out to provide the coefficients of a calibration curve.
This process is also used to determine the systematic and random errors (i.e. the uncertainty). The
accuracy and reliability of calibration process should comply with the requirements, which are
customized for each flight test campaign.
The satisfactory performance of the SALEV calibration process is achieved by automation in all
steps. The SALEV development is presented, which includes the following steps:
· Database definition;
· Study of all steps and parts that forms the calibration process (i.e. from transducer to
final uncertainty determination) to determine its associated uncertainties;
· Automation of the entire calibration process (including the process itself up to the
effective control of standard and instruments);
· Development of algorithms to compute the uncertainty compliant with EA 4/02; and
· System validation in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
As result of the SALEV operation, it could be verified that measurement quality was improved,
and the required time for calibration was substantially reduced. Also the standardization of this
process allows failures forecast due to aging of systems parameters (i.e. bias).

Previous issue date: 2014-07-22 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The present study begins in the projecting issue, addressing
concepts of knowledge building, specifically about projects
related to communication interfaces. The starting point and
motivation of the study lies in the perception of a frequent gap
between audience, interface building theory and design
practice. It is suggested that modern projective practices must
break with the static paradigms from the past, joining new
forms and practices, suggesting content curation in the world
wide web. Raising points of convergence between: web content
curating, interface design and "design design" (the metaproject)
in creating up to date projecting practices, the work
raises a discussion proposing the application of the possibilities
that the so-called "new economy" brings to the intense routine
of referencing that nowadays constitutes the designer praxis.
Thus, the theoretical framework focuses on cognitive
ergonomics in design practice, the meta-project, the
communication design, semiotics, curating content and finally
branding.
comunicacionais.
projetual.
branding.

Řídící systém s HMI displejem / Industrial application of TS displaysChytil, Lukáš January 2018 (has links)
This master thesis describes the design of control unit, which has the task to operate industrial facilities for disinfection of swimming pools or living rooms. The designed control unit is trying to regulate power and flow rate, which is controlled by electronic valve with a flowmetr. The whole design is aimed at minimizing operating costs (mainly consumed liquid oxygen). Interaction with the operator is ensured by the HMI display. There is also an effort to highlight the importance of HMI applications in the industry.

Ovládací panel s dotykovým displejem / Control Panel with TouchscreenNevoral, Jan January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this work is to design and construct a printed circuit board with touchscreen connection that will serve as a universal platform for controlling a variety of devices including industrial devices. The functionality of the board is demonstrated on control of gas boiler application. The first part attends to currently used and available graphic displays, touchscreens, communication interfaces and microcontrollers that allow control of a graphic display. The main focus is put on LCD TFT displays, resistive touch panels and microcontrollers with LCD TFT controller. The second part describes the selection of system components, design of printed circuit board and implementation of thermostat. The end of the work evaluates the produced device and discusses possible future extensions.

This paper presents an exploratory empirical study of mobile videoconferencing according to user’s context in order to suggest guidelines for the improvement of the user interface in mobile video communication devices. Through rich exchange of information, mobile video communication can provide a better sense of presence than other means of communication. Yet the current mobile interfaces lack flexibility to be creative and have more meaningful exchanges in a videoconference.
We conducted observations with sixteen participants in three activities where their conversations, reactions and behaviours were observed. Two focus groups were used to identify habits formed from regular use. Results suggest an important difference between using the front-facing or back-facing camera and a clear need for tools that provide more control over the video exchange. From these results, the study proposes several design guidelines for mobile video communication interfaces, respecting the construction of the user’s mobile context.
