Pretende-se elucidar a dinâmica da produção de conhecimento em torno das influências para escolher temas de pesquisa, os tipos de canais utilizados para intercambiar informação, as formas de trabalho (individual ou coletivo), e o estímulo e reconhecimento por parte das comunidades acadêmicas a nível nacional e internacional, assim como os obstáculos que intervêm na geração do conhecimento. Por outro lado, trata-se de compreender o papel da unidade de informação do IFCH, detectando os eventuais problemas que dificultam a interação entre a comunidade científica, como usuária da informação, e a biblioteca, como processadora da informação. Finalmente, destaca-se a necessidade dos cientistas sociais unificarem esforços para consolidar sua interação e procurar a solução coletiva dos problemas apontados / Abstract: This work consists in a qualitative research oriented towards the case study of a scientific community belonging to the area of Social Sciences, namely the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH) of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). The objective of this study is to elarify the dinamics of knowledge production related to the influence received in choosing research themes, the specific channels used to interchange, the diffuse information, the way the scientist organize themselves (individual or collective work) to do their research, the stimulus and recongition received by their national and international academic communities, well as the barriers opposed to the geration of new ideas. On the other hand, this work tries to understnad the role of the information unit in the IFCH within the transference of information ciele, detecting eventual problems which make difficult the interaction between the scientific community (as an information user) and the library (as an information processor). Finally, it points out the need of joining efforts, on the part of the scientist social, in order to consolidate theri interaction and find solutions for the existing problems / Mestrado / Mestre em Política Científica e Tecnológica
