São abordados tanto problemas provenientes de ensaios laboratoriais quanto de estruturas reais e os casos são analisados utilizando os programas FRANC2D, QUEBRA2D, ADINA, FRANC3D e ANSYS / Abstract: This dissertation addresses fracture problems in plain and reinforced concrete, taking the advantages of non-linear analysis of educational and commercial software. Complex problems of concrete structures that develop critical cracks are the topic of this work. Crack propagation and localization are modeled using Finite Element Method (FEM) and Fracture Mechanics. Real crack behavior data obtained from laboratory tests and existing structures are compared against those obtained with the following software packages: FRANC2D, FRANC3D, QUEBRA2D, ANSYS and ADINA / Mestrado / Estruturas / Mestre em Engenharia Civil
