escala de Ajuste Diádico (EAD-13) de Santos-Iglesias, Vallejo-Medina y Sierra (2009);
dentro de una relación matrimonial, con edades entre los 23 y 65 años (M=41.70;
The aim of the present study was to analyze the possible relationship between Dyadic
adjustment and Emotional regulation in adults that were in a marriage relationship. For
this, a virtual self-report questionnaire was used to measure the constructs in 104 adults
(53 women and 51 men) that were 23 and 65 years old (M=41.70; DE=9.63). The
Dyadic adjustment scale in its brief version (EAD-13) developed by Santos-Iglesias,
Vallejo-Medina y Sierra (2009); the Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (ERQP)
adapted in Peru (Gargurevich y Matos, 2010), and The Cognitive Emotional Regulation
Questionnaire (CERQ) adapted in Peru (Dominguez y Medrano, 2016) were used for
the measurement. It was found inverse correlations between the dimension of consensus
of the dyadic adjustment scale and some emotional regulation strategies like
suppression (r=-.23, p<.05), positive refocusing (r=-.21, p<.05), positive reappraisal
(r=-.25, p<.01), planning (r=-.21, p<.05) and positive refocusing (r=-.21, p<.05). Also,
it was found inverse correlations between the dyadic adjustment global scale (r=-.21,
p<.05) and the dimension of satisfaction (r=-.20, p<.05) with the strategy of emotional
suppression. Finally, differences were found according to certain sociodemographic
variables and others related to their marriage relationship. The possible explanations of
these findings are discussed, as well as the limitations of the study and the possible
future lines to follow.

This research aims to describe the relationship between maternal gatekeeping and ambivalent
sexismin mothers of preeschool children. In addition, the specific objectives of this study are to
compare the reports of mothers and fathers regarding maternal gatekeeping, and compare that variable
based on the mother’s work status, the age of children and the presence of younger siblings. Also, for
ambivalent sexism, the specific objective is to describe it in relation to the years of study of the
mothers and the socioeconomic level of the families. For this, the variables mentioned were measured
in 86 mothers, with ages between 21 and 46 years ( M =35.30; SD =5.72), of children who were
between 24 and 70 months ( M =43.19; SD =11.56), using the Parental Regulation Inventory (PRI) to
measure maternal gatekeeping, and the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory to measure ambivalent sexism.
Negative and significant correlations were found in terms of ambivalent sexism, the mothers’ years of
study and socioeconomic status, and no significant differences were found regarding gatekeeping
according to the characteristics mentioned. Regarding the general objective, a direct and significant
correlation was found between gatekeeping criticism behaviors and benevolent sexism, which
suggests that, the more a mother presents beenvolent sexism attidues, she would be more critical and
controlling of the involvement of the father.

The present study explores the relationship between the dimensions of parenting, warmth and
control, and the adolescent’s emotion regulation. To this end, the Parental Bonding
Instrument (PBI) and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) were answered by
a total of 187 participants, between the ages of 16 and 20 years old (M=17.07; DE=1.088).
Negative correlations were found between parental warmth and difficulties in emotion
regulation and positive correlations were found between the latter and parental control.
Moreover, some dimensions of the adolescent’s emotion regulation correlated only with the
scales of one of the parental figures. Adolescents reported higher perceived warmth and
control from their mothers than from their fathers and differences between girls and boys
over how they perceived their rearing were only found in the degree of perceived paternal
control, being this scale higher for women than for men. Besides, regarding emotion
regulation, men manifested more difficulties to control their behavioral responses to negative
emotions than women. Implications and practical utility of the results are discussed, as well
as the limitations of the study.

The present study aimed to analyze the relationship between the dimensions of
perfectionism and the cognitive emotion regulation strategies on a sample of 289 students
from a private university in Lima. For this purpose, 195 women (67.5%) and 94 men
(32.5%) between the ages of 18 and 30 (M = 21.18; DE = 1.91), who belonged to the
faculties of Psychology (29.4%), Management (34.3%), and Law (36.3%), participated.
The spanish version of the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (MPS) (Rodríguez et al.,
2009) and the peruvian adaptation of the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire
(CERQ) (Domínguez & Medrano, 2016) were used for the measurement. The dimensions
of self-oriented perfectionism and socially prescribed perfectionism were significantly and
positively related to the strategies of self-blaming, rumination, catastrophizing and blaming
others, and negatively related to positive reappraisal and positive refocusing. In addition,
only the socially prescribed perfectionism was negatively related to the refocus on planning
strategy. Regarding the other-oriented perfectionism dimension, it was found a significant
and positive relationship with the refocus on planning tendency. Finally, there were
significant differences according to some sociodemographic and academic variables. The
possible explanations of these findings are discussed, as well as the limitations of the
present study and the future lines of research to follow.

End-stage renal disease is considered a source of stress due to continuous and constant
deterioration. Therefore, the way the individual faces the situation and the motivation to follow
the treatment is a source of research interest. The present study aims to know the relationship
between coping strategies and the locus of health control in patients with chronic terminal kidney
disease who are receiving hemodialysis treatment. The sample is conformed of 80 patients from
two hospitals in Lima Metropolitana who have been applied the Coping Styles Questionnaire
COPE (Carver, Scheier & Weintraub, 1989) and the Multidimensional Locus Control Scale
developed (Wallston, Wallston & Devellis, 1978). There was an inverse and small correlation
between active coping with other powerful locus of control and an inverse and medium correlation
with locus of control of chance. Regarding the internal locus of control, it correlates directly and
mildly with searching for emotional reasons and searching for instrumental reasons. In addition,
negation correlates directly and median with the locus of control other powerful and directly and
mildly with locus of control of chance.

y mejora su nivel académico / The main objective of the present investigation was to know the relationship
between emotional self-regulation and coping styles in a sample of 210 pre-university
students from an academy located in Lima, made up of 100 men and 110 women with
an average age of 17 and a SD of 1.072. To know the differences according to sex in the
variables previously determined the emotional self-regulation questionnaire (ERQP)
and the coping styles questionnaire (COPE) were applied. The emotional regulation
strategy “suppression of emotions” and the types of confrontation “confrontation
containment” and “search for social support” were related. Regarding positive
reinterpretation, it is associated with active coping, planning, confrontation containment
and positive reinterpretation. In the comparison between men and women, women have
more religious confrontation and the search for social support than men, and men differ
in using humor more than women. Finally, a relationship was found between the use of
avoidant coping in relation to preparation time, the number of times it has been applied
and the academic level perceived by the academy, where the use of avoidance strategies
is less frequent according to the student. adapts to the pre-university environment, takes
more exams and improves their academic level.

The following investigation aimed to describe the relationship between parental
bonding -maternal and paternal control and care- and the risk and protective factors of
suicidal ideation in a group of university adolescents in Metropolitan Lima. For this
purpose, 82 men and 66 women aged between 18 and 21 years were evaluated (M = 19.00,
SD = 1.00) using the Parental Bonding Instrument (Melis et al., 2001) and the Positive and
Negative Suicidal Ideation Inventory (Villalobos, 2009). As well, differences in the
variables were explored according to socio-demographic variables. It was found that the
risk factors of suicidal ideation are positively related to parental control and inversely to
parental care. In the same way, it was found that the greater the presence of protective
factors, less presence of paternal control and greater presence of paternal and maternal care.
Finally, it was observed that participants perceive that their mothers are significantly more
controlling and affective than their fathers. These findings are discussed, as well as the
limitations of the study and future lines to follow.
