Planejamos oferecer sessões psicoterápicas duas vezes por semana, durante dois anos, a um grupo de sete crianças previamente selecionadas. Somente duas crianças foram capazes de completar os dois anos de psicoterapia: SID, 16 que passou a frequentar uma oficina abrigada e ELI, 12 que conseguiu sentir-se motivada pelas atividades da Escola, após anos de tentativas infrutíferas. Uma das crianças, MARIA, 13 foi encaminhada, após 8-12 meses de psicoterapia, a um Grupo Escolar. Três crianças deixaram a Escola antes do prazo estipulado. Uma outra SO, 9, faltou tanto que resolvemos interromper o processo. SID e ELI apresentaram um bom desenvolvimento, dentro do possível, conseguindo sair do impasse institucional em que se encontravam. É importante salientar que a família dos dois adolescentes colaboraram bastante, enquanto que as das outras crianças, nao. 0 Psicodiagnóstico das três crianças bem sucedidas era: MARIA, 13 desenvolvimento geral normal para a idade; SID, 16, organização mental psicótica;ELI, 12, intensas defesas maníacas contra a depressão. Um Estudo de Caso, o de ELI, é apresentado detalhadamente, mostrando as vicissitudes do par psicanalítico e tecendo comentários envolvendo a teoria. A pesquisa mostra, também, a vida cotidiana dos psico-terapeutas na Instituição destacando as dificuldades-facilidades, os sucessos e os insucessos, assim como aponta para possíveis investigações posteriores. Uma das hipóteses iniciais de trabalho, que era sobre a questão do setting terapêutico, pode ser resolvida de uma forma adequada, comprovando a nossa idéia de que, o mais importante no setting é a relação psicanalística e não o lugar onde se desenvolve a psicoterapia. / Abstract: This research questions the possibility of applying a model of psychoanalytical psychotherapy - Ludotherapy - to children and adolescents studying in Special Schools for Mentally Retarded. We planned to offer twice a week sessions of psychoterapy, to seven children, choosed previously, during two years, in order to appreciate their development. Results shows that this procedure is possible and welcome, for the children were able to show mental development and greater adaptability to the environment, as regarded their own difficulties. Only two children were able to stay in psychoterapy for the two planned years. They were: SID, 16 that begun to work at a protected workshop and ELI, 12, that became motivated to learn to read and write and to pay attention to the environment, after some years of unsuccessful tryings. MARIA, 13 was able to attend to a regular school after 8-12 months of psychoterapy. The other three children interrupted the treatment as they left the school and SO, 9 who was most of the time absent, we suspended therapy after one year. The psychodiagnostic assessment of these three children is: MARIA - normal child; SID - psychotic mental organization; ELI - maniac defenses against depression.Its important to say that the families of these three children understood and cooperated with us. The study of ELI's case is presented and commented in part four. It was also possible to stablish a proper therapeutic setting, and this was one of our previous hypotesis, showing that one of the most important factors in the therapeutic setting, is the analytical relationship between the therapist and the patient and not the place where this psychotherapy occurs. The research also showns the everyday life of the psychotherapists in the Special School pointing out difficulties and facilities, failures and successes as well as, suggestions for further development. / Doutorado / Doutor em Saude Mental
