Relaxace smykového napětí asfaltových pojiv v DSR / Shear stress relaxation of bituminous binders in DSR

Musil, Vladimír January 2015 (has links)
The thesis describes the relaxation properties of bituminous binders determined in dynamic shear rheometer (DSR). Paving bitumen, polymer modified bitumen (PMB) and crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRmB) were chosen for comparison. In order to describe the effects of ageing on asphalt binders relaxation properties, the laboratory simulation of ageing using RTFOT and 3xRTFOT method was performed. For each binder were simultaneously conducted tests of needle penetration, softening point and elastic recovery. Selected bitumens were used for the production of asphalt mixtures. The low-temperature properties tests (TSRST) were performed for these mixtures, when the results were compared to the relaxation properties of binders determined in the DSR.

Musical Sound and Spatial Perception: How Music Structures Our Sense of Space

Saccomano, Mark January 2020 (has links)
It is not uncommon to read claims of music’s ability to affect our sense of time and its rate of passage. Indeed, such effects are often considered among the most distinctive and prized aspects of musical aesthetics. Yet when it comes to the similarly abstract notion of space and its manipulation by musical structures, theorists are generally silent. My dissertation addresses this gap in the literature and shows how music’s spatial effects arise through an affective engagement with musical works. In this study, I examine an eclectic selection of compositions to determine how the spaces we inhabit are transformed by the music we hear within them. Drawing on Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s theory of embodied perception, as well as research on acoustics, sound studies, and media theory, I deploy an affective model of spatial perception—a model that links the sense of space with the moment-to-moment needs and desires of the perceiver— to explain how these musical modulations of space occur. My claim is that the manner in which the music solicits our engagement affects how we respond, which in turn affects what we perceive. I begin by discussing the development of recording technology and how fixed media works deemed “spatial music” reinforce a particular conception of space as an empty container in which sound sources are arrayed in specific locations relative to a fixed listening position. After showing how innovative studio techniques have been used to unsettle this conventional spatial configuration, I then discuss examples of Renaissance vocal music, instrumental chamber music, and 20th century electronic music in order to develop a richer understanding of the range of spatial interactions that musical textures and timbres can provide. In my final chapter, I draw upon these varieties of affective engagement to construct a hermeneutic analysis of the spatial experience afforded by Steve Reich’s Electric Counterpoint, thereby modeling a phenomenological method for grounding interpretation in embodied, rather than strictly discursive, practices. By soliciting movement through the call for bodily action, music allows us an opportunity to fit together one world of possibilities with another, thereby providing an occasion for grasping new meanings presented through the work. The spatial aspect of music, therefore, does not consist in merely recognizing an environmental setting populated by individual sound sources. Through the embodied practices of music perception and the malleability of space they reveal, we are afforded an opportunity to reshape our understanding of the world around us.

Hybridní směsi na bázi recyklovaných plastů / Hybrid Blends of Recycled Plastics

Černý, Miroslav January 2017 (has links)
Work describes the relationship between structure and mechanical properties in case of hybrid mixtures. They are composed from polyurethane matrices (eventually polyurethane-urea or polyurethane-inorganic filler mixtures), different rubber fractions as filler and eventually reinforcement made from PET monofilaments. Mechanical behaviour was studied by tensile testing. Studied mechanical properties include tensile modulus, ultimate strength and strain and also specific energy need neccessary for ultimate strength achievement. Prepared materials are naturally porous. Therefore their mechanical behaviour has to be described generally for porous composites. The porosity occurence means, that it is difficult to describe them by models valid for mechanical behaviour (mainly elastic modulus) of nonporous composites. Models are also based on idealized structures on microscopic level. In case of porous composites, it is very difficult to create any idealized structure. The structure is changed with modifications of composition (change of components or their rates). These conditions have lead to utilizing of different approach how to describe the relationship between structure and mentioned mechanical properties. The chosen approach comes from knewledge about structural parametres coming from porosity. Structural parameters describe the structure on macroscopic level. They include interspace volume (volume lying between filler particles), interspace filling (how the matrix fills the interspace volume) and matrix volume fraction. Proposed parameters are used in relations, where they are fitted by exponents to interlay values of chosen mechanical properties for composites containing discrete matrix and filler. Found exponents are then described by properties of matrices to obtain relations describing properties of filled porous materials. Very similar approach was chosen for description in the case of reinforced composites. Proposed relation are potentially valid for materials containing binding matrix, infinity count of fillers and one kind of reinforcement.

Asfaltové směsi s vyšší životností za použití R-materiálu / Bituminous mixtures with a higher lifetime using recycled asphalt

Stromecký, Roman January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with a project of asphalt mixtures with high stiffness modulus using R-material. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of these mixtures in the Czech Republic and in Switzerland. Further this part deals with the use of R-material in the Czech Republic and chosen other countries of the world, it also deals with the ways of recycling roads. The theoretical part also deals with the testing methods used. In the practical part two new asphalt mixtures of the high stiffness modulus type with the addition of 25 % R-material are suggested. As a base for these two mixtures a mixture of the high stiffness modulus type, which was taken from an asphalt mixing plant, was used. Tests were run on the binders and several functional tests (stiffness modulus, fatigue resistance, low temperature qualities) wer done on the suggested asphalt mixtures and also the mixture taken from the mixing plant. Consequently, the results were compared. The conclusion of the thesis is devoted to modelling a construction of a road using the program LayEps, which verified if the suggested mixtures could reduce the thickness of roads.

Inovativní asfaltové směsi pro netuhé vozovky s použitím R-materiálu / Inovative asphalt mixtures to flexible pavement structure with using reclaimed asphalt

Horáček, Daniel January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on the design and production of two innovative asphalt mixtures of the VMT 22 type into the base asphalt course. The newly produced blends contain modified binders, such as polymer modified bitumen (PMB) and Crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRMB). The theoretical part of the thesis describes the current state of the use of Reclaimed asphalt pavement in the base asphalt course. Furthermore, there are described types of asphalt mixtures for the base asphalt course are used in the Czech Republic and other countries. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to the description of Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), its storage and processing in a hot mix center. In the practical part of this thesis, there is described design and test of two High modulus asphalt mixture VMT 22, into which 25% RAP is dosed cold without rejuvenators. These asphalt mixtures are then subjected to functional tests (Stiffness of asphalt mixture test, Resistance to fatigue test, Low temperature properties of asphalt mixture test). The results of the functional tests are compared with the functional requirements in the Czech regulation TP 151. In the end of this thesis it is verified by means of the LayEps software that a suitable design of the asphalt mixture can significantly extend the road life.

Vyhodnocování dopravního hluku a jeho modelování / Evaluation and modelling of Traffic Noise

Černoch, Adam January 2014 (has links)
The task of the master's thesis is introduction with the problems of traffic noise, focusing on noise from road traffic. There is a description what is the noise, how it is formed, its resources and what are the methods of measuring. The following are the various noise reduction measures such as noise barriers and low noise pavements. The main attention is devoted to the noise generated at the tire / road that is reduced by these pavements. The practical part describes the implemented measurements on individual sections at various locations in our country. The measurement was carried by slightly modified method CPX with reference tire directly at the vehicle. The main aim was to evaluate the measurement data, make comparison of different low-noise surfaces with each other and with the commonly used surfaces. Then quantification of the rate reduction of the noise emission for a given section and verification of input data for noise modeling. In conclusion, the obtained results are summarized and based on them were confirmed very good acoustic properties with the recommendation to continue with measurements in the future.

Inovativní asfaltové směsi pro obrusné vrstvy s použitím vyššího množství R-materiálu / Innovative Asphalt Mixtures for Wearing Course with a Higher Content of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement

Spies, Karel Unknown Date (has links)
This master's thesis deals with the design of two asphalt mixtures for a wearing course containing 35 % R-material. The asphalt mixtures use a soft bitumen modified with crumb rubber (CRMB) or the unmodified soft binder itself with a penetration grade of 70/100. The work verifies the effect of crumb rubber as a bitumen modifier on the properties of the asphalt mixture with reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP). At the same time, the work deals with the possibility of using higher amounts of reclaimed asphalt pavement only in combination with a softer binder without the use of rejuvenating additives. The properties of asphalt binders and mixtures are verified using suitable functional tests. Furthermore, the proposed mixtures and their results are compared from various perspectives. At the same time, the thesis in the theoretical part deals with the dosing of a reclaimed asphalt pavement into the asphalt mixture and describes the handling and use of reclaimed asphalt pavement in the Czech Republic and abroad
