Stanovení nejlepšího nástroje pro vystružování otvoru pro píst ve firmě Bosch Diesel, s.r.o. / Determining the best cutting tool for reaming the piston hole in Bosch Diesel company

Rauscher, Tomáš January 2018 (has links)
The main goal of this diploma thesis is to increase cost savings on cutting tools, which are used to ream piston hole inside the housing of CP3 diesel pump made by Bosch Diesel s. r. o. Diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical description of the issue, which is initial knowledge for machining tests, and experimental part, whose task it is to find a suitable reamer for this technological operation. Cost savings will be achieved by selecting suitable tool instead of the serial tool that has been used so far.

Geometry and Arithmetic of the LLSvS Variety

Giovenzana, Franco 01 April 2021 (has links)
This thesis concerns the hyperkähler eightfold constructed by Lehn, Lehn, Sorgen, and van Straten, built from twisted cubics on a cubic fourfold. We study its period, its birational properties and we describe some geometric features.

Twisted, localized, and modulated states described in the phenomenological theory of chiral and nanoscale ferromagnets

Leonov, Andriy 02 February 2012 (has links)
Axisymmetric magnetic strings with a fixed sense of rotation and nanometer sizes (chiral magnetic vortices or Skyrmions) have been predicted to exist in a large group of non-centrosymmetric crystals more than two decades ago. Recently these extraordinary magnetic states have been directly observed in thin layers of cubic helimagnet (Fe,Co)Si. In this thesis we apply our earlier theoretical findings and recent results to review main properties of chiral Skyrmions, to elucidate their physical nature, and to analyse these recent experimental results on magnetic-field-driven evolution of Skyrmions and helicoids in chiral helimagnets. Concentrating on the physical side of the problem rather than on mathematical details we give an elementary introduction into the properties of chiral Skyrmions in magnetism.

Bivariate C1 Cubic Spline Space Over a Nonuniform Type-2 Triangulation and Its Subspaces With Boundary Conditions

Liu, Huan Wen, Hong, Don, Cao, Dun Qian 01 June 2005 (has links)
In this paper, we discuss the algebraic structure of bivariate C 1 cubic spline spaces over nonuniform type-2 triangulation and its subspaces with boundary conditions. The dimensions of these spaces are determined and their local support bases are constructed.

Coverage Motion Planning for Search and Rescue Missions : A Costmap Based Approach for fixed wing UAVs using Simulated Annealing &amp;Cubic Splines

Rönnkvist, Fredrik January 2023 (has links)
The present study proposes a novel approach to Coverage Path Planning for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) inspired by the Orienteering Problem. The main goal is to develop an algorithm suitable for Search and Rescue Missions, which can produce a search pattern with dynamical constrains, that is not limited to the traditional back-and-forth motion or spiral patterns. This method leads to a more flexible and diverse coverage of the Area of Interest. In order to generate dynamically correct trajectories, we utilize cubic splines as motion primitives to solve the Orienteering Problem. To accomplish this, we implement and test three different types of cubic splines, namely Catmull-Rom, Freya, and B-splines. To determine the coverage of the search area, the sensor's projection (footprint) is evaluated along the spline trajectory onto a costmap. This method accounts for the footprint's orientation and size, which depend on the UAV's attitude to some extent. This version of the Orienteering Problem using splines for dynamical control and calculating coverage, we call the Mapping Motion Orienteering Problem (MMOP). \\The heuristic method Simulated Annealing is used to address the combinatorial challenges of the MMOP, and two cost functions are tested for optimization. The study shows that the choice of spline has a significant impact on the algorithm's efficacy, and B-splines are the most effective in generating dynamic and adaptable trajectories. However, the study also shows that the Simulated Annealing algorithm with identical settings produced varied resulting paths. Finally, further research is needed to solve the challenges faced with the computational time, which heavily depends on factors such as the sampling rate for the footprint along the path and the resolution of the costmap and footprint itself.

Bivariate C1 Cubic Spline Spaces Over Even Stratified Triangulations

Liu, Huan Wen, Hong, Don 01 December 2002 (has links)
It is well-known that the basic properties of a bivariate spline space such as dimension and approximation order depend on the geometric structure of the partition. The dependence of geometric structure results in the fact that the dimension of a C1 cubic spline space over an arbitrary triangulation becomes a well-known open problem. In this paper, by employing a new group of smoothness conditions and conformality conditions, we determine the dimension of bivariate C1 cubic spline spaces over a so-called even stratified triangulation.

Investigation of the structural and mechanical properties of micro-/nano-sized Al2O3 and cBN composites prepared by spark plasma sintering

Irshad, H.M., Ahmed, B.A., Ehsan, M.A., Khan, Tahir I., Laoui, T., Yousaf, M.R., Ibrahim, A., Hakeem, A.S. 27 May 2017 (has links)
Yes / Alumina-cubic boron nitride (cBN) composites were prepared using the spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique. Alpha-alumina powders with particle sizes of ∼15 µm and ∼150 nm were used as the matrix while cBN particles with and without nickel coating were used as reinforcement agents. The amount of both coated and uncoated cBN reinforcements for each type of matrix was varied between 10 to 30 wt%. The powder materials were sintered at a temperature of 1400 °C under a constant uniaxial pressure of 50 MPa. We studied the effect of the size of the starting alumina powder particles, as well as the effect of the nickel coating, on the phase transformation from cBN to hBN (hexagonal boron nitride) and on the thermo-mechanical properties of the composites. In contrast to micro-sized alumina, utilization of nano-sized alumina as the starting powder was observed to have played a pivotal role in preventing the cBN-to-hBN transformation. The composites prepared using nano-sized alumina reinforced with nickel-coated 30 wt% cBN showed the highest relative density of 99% along with the highest Vickers hardness (Hv2) value of 29 GPa. Because the compositions made with micro-sized alumina underwent the phase transformation from cBN to hBN, their relative densification as well as hardness values were relatively low (20.9–22.8 GPa). However, the nickel coating on the cBN reinforcement particles hindered the cBN-to-hBN transformation in the micro-sized alumina matrix, resulting in improved hardness values of up to 24.64 GPa.

Magnetic Susceptibility of Powdered SmPO4

Cannata, Ronald 03 1900 (has links)
<p> The magnetic susceptibility of samarium orthophosphate (SmPO4) has been measured over the temperature range from 0.4 to 270°K. A theoretical expression for the susceptibility has been developed assuming a crystal field of cubic symmetry and fitted to the experimental data. </p> / Thesis / Master of Science (MSc)
