However, the survey states that the cultural reality of that council is in the process of transformation and the same process does not mean, necessarily, in statements that say the end of the religious traditions in the city, because they are hybrid, and at the same time that become, preserve its foundations more valuable / Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal, construir uma reflexão sobre a realidade cultural no Município de Cunha com foco no catolicismo popular, e demonstrar as transformações ocorridas no mesmo, devido à entrada de elementos sócio-culturais ligados à modernidade e ao processo de globalização. A pesquisa constata que a realidade cultural daquele município se encontra em processo de mudanças significativas, este mas elas não implicam, necessariamente, em conseqüências que apontem para o fim das tradições religiosas no município, pois as mesmas são híbridas e, ao mesmo tempo em que se transformam, preservam seus fundamentos mais valiosos. Para realizar esta pesquisa, utilizamos entrevistas realizadas com pessoas do local, bem como uma análise bibliográfica sobre a região
