Garcia Velasquez, Guilherme. January 2009 (has links)
Abstract: The superior level of teaching in Tourism and/or Hospitality Management in Brazil is a very recent practice which has been suffering quite a few changes and adaptations, once the activity is characterized by its dynamism. However, it may be told that, beyond being considered as a professional activity (extremely technicist), the Tourism and/or Hospitality Management in superior level of education are still not understood inside any scientific context. The place crisis in public institutions which demarcated the last decades, as well as the national market demanding, resulted into an excessive courses offer in private institutions. The reflex of the Tourism and/or Hospitality Management expansion caused in Brazil, the insertion of thousands of graduated students in the trade, not always well prepared. Therefore, this present work has as its main purpose the reflexion of the university role, developing a compared analysis of the Curricular Sources of two Brazilian Institutions in Paraná: a Private one and a Public one, taking into consideration the National document of Curricular Sources for the graduation courses of Tourism, with a goal of discovering any possible divergence. / Mestre

The General Music Course in the Secondary School: A Content Analysis of Selected Curricular Sources

Lawrence, David Lee 12 1900 (has links)
The study described through content analysis the general music course in the secondary school as perceived in selected curricular sources from the 1960's and 1970's. As various writers of curricular sources developed their own content and methodologies, a vast amount of data became available which seemed unmanageable because of the particular philosophical goals chosen for the course. The study organized in a systematic manner the content and methodologies of the.course by means of eighteen categories. Categories of high frequency inclusion in the general music sources were shown to be the elements of music, music vocabulary as a specific area for learning, the predominant choice of classical Western/art music, the use of listening and creative activities and the discussion of psychological learning principles.
