Infuence of matrix and alloying on the fatigue crack propagation and fracture toughness of compacted graphite iron for cylinderheads

Gonzalez, Leny January 2020 (has links)
The constants modernization in the fuels used request improvements in the combustioneffectiveness, as a consequence the material for components as the cylinder heads mustenhance their properties. Seven different compositions of compacted graphite iron (CGI)are analysed with the aim of characterized and select the most suitable material for thecylinder head service condition. The present master thesis report focuses on the impactof the matrix- either pearlitic or ferritic- and alloying elements such as molybdenum andnickel in the fatigue crack propagation ratedadNand fracture toughness (kIc).Tests to determined the fatigue crack growth rate, according to the ASTM standardE647 and fracture toughness (ASTM E399) were conducted. The equipment utilized was aservo hydraulic machine, for the fatigue crack propagation rate test and a electromechanicalmachine for the fracture toughness. Moreover, for measure the crack length a portablemicroscope camera and a camera connected to a DIC(digital image correlation) softwarewas used. The interpretation of the data obtained from the tests were done by TEMA- aDIC software- and MATLAB.The test results are analysed describing the influence of the composition and the microstructurehave over the mechanical properties achieved. Furthermore, an analyse forrelating the graphite average length and the hardness with the fatigue crack growth rateand the fracture toughness of the materials is performed.

Návrh technologie výroby vybrané součásti v systému regulace parní turbíny / Proposal of technology a selected component in the control system of steam turbine

Hradil, Roman January 2017 (has links)
The subject of this thesis is the design of production technology of the hydraulic cylinder – the part of servomotor of a steam turbine control valve. The main precondition is a perspective technology of manufacturing the component on a single workplace using Siemens NX10 CAM system. The implementation of this work was carried out in cooperation with the Siemen, s.r.o., the branch of Industrial Turbomachinery in Brno. Part of the thesis is a brief introduction to the issue of steam turbines. The main part is devoted to analysis of a selected component in terms of technology, design of the best strategy of production technology and its implementation. The conclusion deals with the technical and economic assessment of the proposal.

Šestiválcový řadový vznětový motor s vypínáním válců / Six-cylinder in-line diesel engine with cylinder deactivation

Novosád, Ivan January 2020 (has links)
Master 's thesis deals with design of a drivetrain of six cylinder inline engine with cylinder deactivation for heavy agricultural vehicles. In this thesis were devised various possibilities of crankshaft balancing, the best design solution of counterweight was based on optimization in software Catia. Further, the crankshaft was analysed for force and momentum loading and torsional vibration, based on which, the torsional vibration damper was designed. There were considered several options for cylinder deactivation, which were analysed for finest run of engine and the best thermal distribution. Based on these criteria, the best option was to deactivate 2nd and 5th cylinder. The crankshaft was analysed for the fatigue failure by finite element method. The fatigue failure is the most dangerous case for the crankshaft, the resulting safety factor for this limit state is 3,05.

Teoretické řešení pneumobilu / Theory of pneumatic car design

Stodolák, Martin January 2011 (has links)
This thesis covers the theoretical solution of the compressed air powered vehicle. The first section describes the competition of the compressed air powered vehicles, that is annually held in Hungary, where the idea for such a car design was created. There are also additional descriptions of the construction of the machines from the hungarian competition. In the second section there is a calculation of the chosen vehicle construction, where the main emphases is based on the calculation of the drive of the vehicle. The description of the manufacturing, tests and vehicle presentation follows.

Návrh pneumobilu s pneumatickým pohonem / Design of pneumobil driven by pneumatic motor

Podhorský, Petr January 2011 (has links)
Master thesis deals with design of "student" pneumatic car equipped by pneumatic elements of a chosen firm. The introductory part is devoted to mapping the Hungarian competition. The idea of designing such vehicles comes from this competition. Next step is analysis of vehicles that are present in this competition. The main part describes the development of vehicle from the initial design, through analysis of main components, through to the production and presentation. The work contains a strain-stress analysis of the frame which is made by using the finite element method. The work ends with the conclusion which assesses the results.

Návrh optimalizovaného řešení konstrukce a uložení suportu formového a rastrového válce flexotiskového barevníku / Optimized design of printing and anilox cylinder carriage of flexographic printing deck

Pavlas, Petr January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the optimized design solution and support housing proposal for a flexographic printing deck including the printing and anilox units. The support housing must be appropriately dimensioned to counteract the shock loads that occur during the printing process. At first, the thesis analyzes the impact load and the resulting size of loading forces. The support housing proposal is designed to resist these forces then.

Motion of a body in a fluid with pressure dependent viscosity / Motion of a body in a fluid with pressure dependent viscosity

Sláčík, Stanislav January 2013 (has links)
A lot of technologically relevant incompressible fluids exhibit a substantial variaton of viscosity with the pressure;a falling cylinder viscometer is frequently used for the measurements, determining the viscosity indirectly from the time it takes the sinker to fall a given distance. The relation between the sinker fall velocity and the fluid viscosity is, however, derived under the constant viscosity assumption. The objective of the present thesis is to perform a numerical simulation of the viscometric experiment, assuming an explicit form of the pressure-viscosity dependence and realistic parameter values and to quantitatively assess the difference in body motion to the Navier- Stokes model. The computational method proposed, handling both the nonlinear constitutive relation and the body motion, was tested on simple problems with analytical solutions. The semianalytical relation for the Navier-Stokes model, also re-derived here, is compared to the computational results. The validity of the assumptions used in the theoretical derivation, based on the results of the numerical simulation, is discussed regarding the geometry of the viscometer. An Investigation of the Impact of the Elastic Deformation of the End case/Housing on Axial Piston Machines Cylinder Block/Valve Plate Lubricating Interface

Chacon, Rene, Ivantysynova, Monika January 2016 (has links)
The cylinder block/valve plate interface is a critical design element of axial piston machines. In the past, extensive work has been done at Maha Fluid Power Research center to model this interface were a novel fluid structure thermal interaction model was developed which accounts for thermal and elasto-hydrodynamic effects and has been proven to give an accurate prediction of the fluid film thickness. This paper presents an in-depth investigation of the impact of the elastic deformation due to pressure and thermal loadings of the end case/housing on the performance of the cylinder block/valve plate interface. This research seeks to understand in a systematic manner the sensitivity of the cylinder block/valve plate interface to the structural design and material properties. A comparison between simulations results is done by utilizing different end case designs and material compositions, both in the valveplate and end case solids.
