Pokorná, Anna January 2016 (has links)
This dissertation based on a fieldwork conducted among Czech Jewish youth during a ten-days educational touristic program Taglit-Birthright explores production of transnational space of mutual belonging. The transnational belonging to Jewish collective is produced through particular physical space of Israel through practice of tourism in collective constructed by the programme as a collective of common origin based on "blood ties". I examine participants' tourist bodily experience, performances, emotions and attitudes as a site of production and reproduction of transnational space using a concept of embodiment as ways in which the individual grasps the world around him/her and makes sense of it in ways that engage both body and mind. Transnational space created throughout the programme becomes socially constructed emotional category of "ahavat Israel", "love for Israel" that might conceal its political implications. “I Just Hated Being a Mother” : Stories of Czech Women who Experienced Motherhood Regrets

Holemá, Anna January 2023 (has links)
This thesis explores the experiences of women - mothers who regret having children. In mainstream society, it is assumed that mothers find their roles fulfilling and it makes them happy despite possible hardships. The topic of maternal regrets is not discussed enough, it is still a taboo. It is assumed that there is something wrong with a woman regretting her motherhood. This topic not only has a lack of general attention, but also of academic one. It is very under-researched. Although there are more and more studies exploring why people choose not to have children, women who regret motherhood are still waiting for support and understanding. In the vast majority, they never admit to their feelings. The outcomes present the fact that motherhood does not have to be a pleasant and simple experience. The women who shared their personal stories in this thesis experienced motherhood as something that oppressed them and complicated their lives. They became pregnant unexpectedly and unplanned and had to adjust all their life plans and expectations to motherhood. They did not find fulfillment in the role of mother. Overall, this work sheds light on the taboo topic of maternal regret and presents the diverse factors that influence mothers' lives and well-being. It highlights the issue of traditional division of gender roles, especially in terms of childcare, working conditions, earnings, and economic dependence on a partner. It addresses the issue of social pressure and expectations that mothers face. It emphasizes the importance of sex education and the importance of making an informed decision. And it demonstrates the complexity of the problem of motherhood regrets.

Integrovaný záchranný systém a mimořádné události se zaměřením na činnost Policie ČR. / Integrated rescue system and emergencies with a view of the Police of the Czech Republic.

VILDMAN, Radek January 2010 (has links)
To deal with and prepare for extraordinary events, the Czech Republic has the Integrated Rescue System, which is not an individual organization as such, but rather a system of co-ordinated activities of basic bodies, namely the Fire-Brigade of the Czech Republic and fire prevention units included in the area coverage, the Police of the Czech Republic and the Medical Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. It is the coordination of the Integrated Rescue System{\crq}s basic bodies what is absolutely essential for the effectiveness of the intervention in the place of an extraordinary event. To make the process of rescue and liquidation work really effective, type activities for the basic bodies during a collective intervention have been put together for selected extraordinary events. These activities focus mainly on the co-ordination of the bodies in the place of the extraordinary event as well as the co-ordination of the related bodies by their operations centres. This thesis aimed to analyze the work of the Czech Police as a body of the Integrated Rescue System in the area of extraordinary events as well as to point out possible insufficiencies and propose some ways of improvement. The findings gained can be used in the professional training of individuals, particularly from the ranks of the Czech Police, which handle the question of dealing with extraordinary events. The thesis includes a list of these type activities approved by the Integrated Rescue System{\crq}s bodies with reference to the effective legal documents and the analysis of responsibilities performed by the Police of the Czech Republic within the individual type activities. The conclusion indicates disparities between the theory and the practice, which arose during the elaboration of the thesis, particularly insufficient knowledge of the type activities on behalf of the policemen and deficient material facilities of the Czech Police as an Integrated Rescue System{\crq}s body, mainly protective aids for performing tasks related to potential contamination of the policemen by various chemical, biological and radioactive substances etc.
