Možnosti In-memory reportingových nástrojů / Possibilities of In-memory reporting tools

Cígler, Lukáš January 2013 (has links)
Diploma thesis focuses on in-memory data processing, its use in reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) in general. The main goal of the theoretical part is to introduce the in memory principles, highlight the differences from hard drive data processing and overview possible implementations of in-memory technology in BI solution. The output of this section is an analysis of advantages and disadvantages of in-memory solutions in various perspectives. The practical part of the thesis consists of the performance benchmark that compares the performance of data processing using the in-memory principles and conventional hard drive methods. The performance comparison is realized in the reporting tools environment, QlikView for in-memory approach and Reporting Services for hard drive based method. Several data sets are used for testing in both mentioned tools. End of the chapter provides the assessment of testing results and discusses the strengths and weaknesses of both principles of data processing. The conclusion of this work discusses the advantages and disadvantages of in-memory data processing and defines the key questions that company management should ask before investing in innovation of the present BI solution. Moreover the conclusion contains recommendations for possible further follow-up work.

Analýza trhu cukrovinek v České republice z pohledu retail auditu / Retail audit analysis of confectionery market in Czech Republic

Konečná, Eva January 2013 (has links)
The main goal of my master thesis is to conduct a complex analysis of the confectionery market in Czech Republic, as one of the most profitable and dynamic category. The methodology that is used to analyse the market is the retail audit analysis, that provides an independent insight into the problem and helps to analyse the market from various perspectives. The first part is focused on the total confectionery market with the goal to introduce the market with its specifics, then the analysis goes deeper into the chocolate confectionery market and is extended by consumer research, that provides a useful consumer insight. As a result, the thesis emphasizes the importance of retail audit data, while at the same time gaps of the analysis are shown by using the consumer research as a secondary methodology.

Komponentizace transformací linked data / Componentization of Linked Data Transformations

Pilař, Štěpán January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on transformation of linked data and opportunities for componentization of extract, transform, load process resulting in reusability of such components. UnifiedViews serves as a framework for demonstration of implementa-tion of selected components. Initial review of related fields of study, relational data oriented ETL and linked data quality management being most prominent, is followed by bottom-up analysis of existing extractors and transformations. Identified common transformations are supplemented by operations known from transformations of relational data. Options and limits of each component candidate are discussed as well as possible cooperation with other components. The next section discusses supported ways of implementation in the selected environment and provides a list of key questions for decision making process is provided. The last part describes implementation of selected components with respect to the approach suggested in the preceding section. Practical use as well as limitations of the implemented components are demonstrated on tasks transforming public contracts datasets.

Analýza reálných dat z restauračního prostředí / Analysis of the real data from the restaurant sector

Šimeček, Petr January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the real data from the restaurant sector in the center of Prague, prove assumptions based on existing knowledge and explore hidden relations. The database management system MySQL was used for the initial transformation of the original data structure. The data after the transformation were converted into a form that it was possible to manipulate with it using the procedure LMDataSource of the system LISp-Miner. The analysis of association of relations were used for the procedure 4ft-Miner of the system LISp-Miner. The MySQL database system was used for the frequency analysis to obtain results, and Microsoft Word and Excel were used to interpret the results. Some of the assumptions in the research were found proven. Furthermore, an interesting combination of relations was discovered. The output of this work allows the owner of the data to use some of the data analysis results for the optimization of internal processes. In addition, this study points out other possible ways to analyze these data.

Využití informačních technologií při finanční a majetkové analýze obcí a jejich pasportizaci / Use of information technologies by financial and property analysis of municipalities and their passportization

Nevěřil, Jakub January 2009 (has links)
The thesis is focused on the evaluation of the socio-economic situation of municipalities, especially by using the method of financial and property analysis (FAMA). The objective of the thesis is to gather such a data volume in an appropriate structure (passport of basic indicators FAMA) in order to enable on its basis the construction of quality enough working standrads, ie to construct the average value of individual FAMA indicators. When evaluating a particular municipality, it will be possible then to compare the municipality with these standards and so get a better picture of its situation. Longer time series of the indicators will also enable to make models of future development of the municipalities. The means to achieve the objective is a thorough analysis of available data sources and existing technical solutions. On the base of the analysis own technical solution will be proposed. Technical solution that will enable to gather efficiently the necessary data and to transform them into passports and working standards.

Zvýšení informační hodnoty dat pomocí moderních přístupů k vizualizaci / Increasing the information value of the data using modern approaches to visualization

Král, Jakub January 2015 (has links)
This thesis solves the area of data visualization in Business Intelligence. We live in a time when the amount of data grows turbulently. These data need to be processed into a form with added value for management and business objectives of the company. The first task is to adjust the data into the required format, the second task is to choose the appropriate visualization so that the data are providing the highest value. This work deals with data visualization and its main aim is to introduce a different approach to data visualization, which has a higher added value than conventional visualization methods used in dashboards and reports. First of all, theoretical part is describing data area (including the trend of Big Data) and reporting (chapter 3). Followed by chapter 4, which is enriching the reader with the information about the need to deal with data visualization and also with the design theory of visualization components. The theoretical part is finished with fifth chapter. It deals with current trends in the field of data visualization and Business Intelligence and also introduces D3.js library as a tool for creating interactive and efficient visualization components. The practical part is offering suggestions for interactive and dynamic visualization of input data (chapter 6). It presents a convenient way to choose a visualization component with greater value than the traditional static component in the form of a graph or table. Proposals contained in D3.js library are presented to the reader. Chosen components according to the author are interesting from the view of design and, if properly used, offer an innovative approach to data visualization. For purposes of practical examples of visualization, author is using D3.js library and open source tool for Business Intelligence from Pentaho. Practical example is part of the final chapter 7.
