A software component model that is both control-driven and data-driven

Safie, Lily Suryani Binti January 2012 (has links)
A software component model is the cornerstone of any Component-based Software Development (CBSD) methodology. Such a model defines the modelling elements for constructing software systems. In software system modelling, it is necessary to capture the three elements of a system's behaviour: (i) control (ii) computation and (iii) data. Within a system, computations are performed according to the flow of control or the flow of data, depending on whether computations are control-driven or data-driven. Computations are function evaluations, assignments, etc., which transform data when invoked by control or data flow. Therefore a component model should be able to model control flow, data flow as well as computations. Current component models all model computations, but beside computations tend to model either control flow only or data flow only, but not both. In this thesis, we present a new component model which can model both control flow and data flow. It contains modelling elements that capture control flow and data flow explicitly. Furthermore, the modelling of control flow is separate from that of data flow; this enables the modelling of both control-driven and data-driven computations. The feasibility of the model is shown by means of an implementation of the model, in the form of a prototype tool. The usefulness of the model is then demonstrated for a specific domain, the embedded systems domain, as well as a generic domain. For the embedded systems domain, unlike current models, our model can be used to construct systems that are both control-driven and data-driven. In a generic domain, our model can be used to construct domain models, by constructing control flows and data flows which together define a domain model.

High Performance Architecture using Speculative Threads and Dynamic Memory Management Hardware

Li, Wentong 12 1900 (has links)
With the advances in very large scale integration (VLSI) technology, hundreds of billions of transistors can be packed into a single chip. With the increased hardware budget, how to take advantage of available hardware resources becomes an important research area. Some researchers have shifted from control flow Von-Neumann architecture back to dataflow architecture again in order to explore scalable architectures leading to multi-core systems with several hundreds of processing elements. In this dissertation, I address how the performance of modern processing systems can be improved, while attempting to reduce hardware complexity and energy consumptions. My research described here tackles both central processing unit (CPU) performance and memory subsystem performance. More specifically I will describe my research related to the design of an innovative decoupled multithreaded architecture that can be used in multi-core processor implementations. I also address how memory management functions can be off-loaded from processing pipelines to further improve system performance and eliminate cache pollution caused by runtime management functions.

Návrh části webové aplikace pro výpočet režijních nákladů / A Design of a Portion of Web Application for Overhead Cost Calculation

Florians, Patrik January 2021 (has links)
Subject of this thesis is to design a web application for overhead calculation, whose purpose is to be a substitution for presently used solution, which is considered to be deprecated. This is being done as a part of strategy of SAP SE corporation for which the solution is designed. This ambition to develop and improve cloud portfolio of already existing applications of the company should lead to betterment of already existing applications of this type and in a long run an improvement of the company’s market position as well as it’s products. The thesis is divided into 3 parts. It begins with a description of theoretical concepts, tools and principles, which are then utilized in further chapters. The following chapter analyzes current state of the affairs, where it is illustrated, what the current solution looks like along with key parts of it. The final, 3rd chapter is dedicated to a description of implemented solution and it also closely describes key differences mentioned in chapter 2.

Řízení datového toku v ISP síti / Data flow control in ISP network

Důbrava, Marek January 2016 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the control of data flow in networks of Internet service providers. The problem of aggregation and related overload network elements are shown. Theoretical section describes the standardized methods for managing data flow. The parameters associated with managing data flow are described for devices selected devices. The thesis displays measurements depicting to which extent the ECN algorithm occurs in practice. In the thesis is theoretically described HTB program, which is complemented by a newly described algorithm. The new algorithm is implemented into the program and tested on a real network ISP.

Detecting RTL Trojans Using Artificial Immune Systems and High Level Behavior Classification

Zareen, Farhath 20 February 2019 (has links)
Security assurance in a computer system can be viewed as distinguishing between self and non-self. Artificial Immune Systems (AIS) are a class of machine learning (ML) techniques inspired by the behavior of innate biological immune systems, which have evolved to accurately classify self-behavior from non-self-behavior. This work aims to leverage AIS-based ML techniques for identifying certain behavioral traits in high level hardware descriptions, including unsafe or undesirable behaviors, whether such behavior exists due to human error during development or due to intentional, malicious circuit modifications, known as hardware Trojans, without the need fora golden reference model. We explore the use of Negative Selection and Clonal Selection Algorithms, which have historically been applied to malware detection on software binaries, to detect potentially unsafe or malicious behavior in hardware. We present a software tool which analyzes Trojan-inserted benchmarks, extracts their control and data-flow graphs (CDFGs), and uses this to train an AIS behavior model, against which new hardware descriptions may be tested.

Obfuscation par expressions mixtes arithmético-booléennes : reconstruction, analyse et outils de simplification / Obfuscation with Mixed Boolean-Arithmetic Expressions : reconstruction, analysis and simplification tools

Eyrolles, Ninon 30 June 2017 (has links)
Software obfuscation is a software protection technique thattransforms code in order to make its analysis more difficult. MixedBoolean-Arithmetic (MBA) expressions are presented as a strongobfuscation in the context of data flow obfuscation. As the domainaround MBA obfuscation is quite young, there is little literatureon the conception and analysis of such obfuscated expressions. Therefore many interesting subjects arise during its study, both around theobfuscation and deobfuscation (or simplification) of MBA expressions.During our work, we structured the subject of MBA obfuscation, linkingit to other topics like cryptography or rewriting. We also reconstructedan MBA obfuscation technique from public samples. We studied themeaning of simplifying an obfuscated expression, and definedour own simplicity metrics for MBA expressions. The study of MBAsimplification yielded the implementation of two deobfuscation toolsthat successfully simplified several public examples of obfuscatedexpressions. Finally, we assessed the resilience of the MBAobfuscation with regard to our simplification algorithms (as well asother deobfuscation techniques), concluding that this obfuscationtechnique offers little resilience as it is, and we proposed a few ideasto help improve this type of obfuscation.

Using Dataflow Optimization Techniques with a Monadic Intermediate Language

Bailey, Justin George 01 January 2012 (has links)
Our work applies the dataflow algorithm to an area outside its traditional scope: functional languages. Our approach relies on a monadic intermediate language that provides low-level, imperative features like computed jumps and explicit allocations, while at the same time supporting high-level, functional-language features like case discrimination and partial application. We prototyped our work in Haskell using the HOOPL library and this dissertation shows numerous examples demonstrating its use. We prove the efficacy of our approach by giving a novel description of the uncurrying optimization in terms of the dataflow algorithm, as well as a complete implementation of the optimization using HOOPL.
