No. of bitstreams: 2 license_rdf: 23148 bytes, checksum: 9da0b6dfac957114c6a7714714b86306 (MD5) ELAINEGALDEIA.pdf: 962237 bytes, checksum: 3b41ec5db03122e7d9c0c481589f9ffc (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-08-29 / The experiment was conducted on the premises of the Federal University of Grande Dourados –UFGD, Dourados-MS, from November 2012 to November 2013 were studied in 19 genotypes of forage grasses, and 17 accessions of Paspalum spp., Urochloa brizantha. Palisade, and Panicum maximum cv. Tanzania. The aim of the study was to characterize the genotypes in relation to anatomical attributes and chemical composition of leaf blades and from these assessments discriminate the most promising materials as the qualitative potential, in order to support the improvement program. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with five replications. There were three cuts of forage for evaluations. The mean anatomical and chemical characteristics were compared by the Scott-Knott test at 5% probability by the computer program SAEG (2007). Analysis of linear correlation between chemical and anatomical characteristics were obtained using the computer application (SAS 2007). Considering the levels of CP, NDF and digestibility of forage materials that deserve mention were BRA23566, BRA1112 and BRA22540 with CP concentration high and low NDF and high IVDMD. Based on studies of anatomical characterization genotypes that were stood BRA23566, BRA23558, BRA1112, BRA22811. It was concluded that the most promising genotypes regarding the qualitative potential would be the BRA23566 and BRA1112 and that would be needed further evaluation of the chemical composition of the cell wall to indicate which components influence the low digestibility of the genotypes tested.
