Data collecting and processing for substation integration enhancement

Jakovljevic, Sasa 30 September 2004 (has links)
The issue of substation integration is recognized as a very important one ever since the process of technological development brought a multitude of new computer-based devices and functions into substation operation. During the relatively short time period after the first microprocessors were invented, a myriad of computer-based devices found their application in power engineering. Those devices had a variety of input and output data formats, which hampered exchange of data among different devices. Recent initiatives for standardization of substation data formats and communication protocols have progressed to facilitate production of devices with standardized data formats and data exchange capabilities. Central substation computers now have an opportunity to collect and process data from such computer-based devices. An advanced data collecting and processing solution is developed and implemented as Integrated Substation Software in an effort to enhance substation integration. This report describes a solution that comprises data generation using a substation model, data collecting from modeled apparatus and instruments and finally application of data processing and consistency checking algorithms for creating outputs. The process of data collecting and processing is automated and repeated in equidistant time intervals. Results of processing and related reports are concisely displayed on the user interface screen and exported through data files. The Substation Integration Software was tested through the set of scenarios where each scenario is used to test one of the processing and consistency checking algorithms. The results show that measurements are improved and applicable for usage by other substation and system-wide applications.

METADATA-BASED IMAGE COLLECTING AND DATABASING FOR SHARING AND ANALYSIS

Wu, Xi 01 January 2019 (has links)
Data collecting and preparing is generally considered a crucial process in data science projects. Especially for image data, adding semantic attributes when preparing image data provides much more insights for data scientists. In this project, we aim to implement a general-purpose central image data repository that allows image researchers to collect data with semantic properties as well as data query. One of our researchers has come up with the specific challenge of collecting images with weight data of infants in least developed countries with limited internet access. The rationale is to predict infant weights based on image data by applying Machine Learning techniques. To address the data collecting issue, I implemented a mobile application which features online and offline image and annotation upload and a web application which features image query functionality. This work is derived and partly decoupled from the previous project – ImageSfERe (Image Sharing for Epilepsy Research), which is a web-based platform to collect and share epilepsy patient imaging.

Differentiating the Methods of Waste Treatment in the Wider Caribbean Region : Introducing a Comprehensive Data-collecting Model to Promote Waste-to-Energy Practices

Corti, Alberto January 2013 (has links)
The Wider Caribbean Region does not have a regional waste management strategy. An integrated approach to waste management throughout the region would benefit many economic sectors, safeguard people’s health and improve environmental quality. Numerous studies, above all a project conducted in 1994 by the World Bank, pointed out that one of the main reasons why such strategy has not been developed yet lies in the scarce availability of data in the waste management sector. Through on field researches and the analysis of institutional reports, the objective of the present study is defining the reasons that led and still underpin such scarcity. Furthermore, the study proposes a new methodology of data collection and improvements to one of the mathematical model that is used to estimate waste quantities in ports. The purpose of the paper is to find an integrated solution to a double challenge: waste abundance and energy scarcity, with focus on ship generated waste management.

Surveillance logicielle à base d'une communauté d'agents mobiles

Bernichi, Mâamoun 30 November 2009 (has links)
These agents are autonomous; this property allows them to adapt themselves on a dynamic environment in a large network. Also, they can exchange information and data in order to collaborate within their group; in this case we can talk about community of mobile agents. We refer to previous studies and research to develop this concept of community by defining a new behavioural pattern of mobile agent. This pattern is used in monitoring software approach which consist of collecting events from various data sources (log file, OS events…) and analyse them to detect abnormal events. This approach is based on different kind of mobile agents, each kind manages some features. Whole of those mobile agents constitute a community which collaborate with other communities if there are a several sites to supervise. The results of this approach allow us to evoke some limits related to size of collected data. This limit pushes us to have a new possibility of research and probably define an ideal mobile agent. Lastly, we illustrate our mobile approach with results about intrusion detection system application to retrieve anomalies

Personaliserad marknadsföring och integritet : En kombinerad studie kring påverkande faktorer och upplevd integritetsintrång / Personalized marketing and integrity : A combined study of influencing factors and perceived invasion of privacy

Njie, Anna, Azhary, Linnea January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to, by using a combined method, investigate which factors influence consumers' decision-making processes and what consumers perceive as intrusive on personal integrity, in the context of personalized marketing. To achieve the purpose of the study, a certain number of consumers were surveyed through semi structured interviews and via a questionnaire. The results show that reliability, various payment options, delivery- and return policies and various benefits, are factors that affect consumers' decision-making processes. Another conclusion is that consumers experience marketing and offers of products and/or services they have only talked about as intrusive on personal privacy. These conclusions are based on the respondents' own opinions and previous experiences.

Title: Financing of promoting physical activity by the towns with extended scope Aims: Purpose of this work is to explore and analyze condition of financing of promoting physical activity in the towns with extended scope in Czech Republic. I am focusing on budget of towns with extended scope, analyzing of sport financing in these towns, analyzing of profit or loss of sport facilities, utilization of grants, the citizen attitude with this problem and the functionality of departments of sport. Methods: The work is descriptively-analytical. Collecting of data is done by recherché and questionnaire. Analysis and comparison will be used for evaluation of data. I will research whether the number of population is correlated with the amount of money put into the promotion of physical activity and with the number of workers in the Sports Department etc. Results: The towns with extended scope are recognized the importance of physical activities and they are very active to seek financial resources to support them. However, in many smaller municipalities with extended scope is not personnel involved in the sport at all, or this issue is passed on someone as a part-time. The survey revealed that the municipalities invest in to the sport up per head approximately three times more than the county. An interesting...
