Vývoj a struktura kriminality mládeže v ČR / Development and structure of juvenile crime in the Czech Republic

Cejnková, Hana January 2015 (has links)
The central theme of my thesis is the framework and development of juvenile delinquency on the territory of the Czech Republic. Crime in general is a serious social problem. It is important not to underestimate juvenile delinquency due to the fact that young offenders often become repeat offenders. The thesis consists of an introduction, six separate chapters and a final summary. The thesis provides a list of the used Literature and Internet resources, and a list of graphs and tables. Each chapter deals with a different aspect of juvenile delinquency. The basic terms encountered in Criminology, criminal law and specifically in context of juvenile delinquency are defined in the first chapter. The second chapter provides an overview of juvenile delinquency. The first part is focused on the development of the approach to juvenile delinquency, while the second part describes the legislation development on the territory of the Czech Republic from the establishment of the independent Czech Republic to the present time. The third chapter is focused on the framework of juvenile delinquency. The first subchapter provides an overview of information sources not only about juvenile delinquency. The second subchapter deals with characteristics of juvenile delinquency . The typical causes of its origin are...

Vývoj a struktura kriminality mládeže v ČR / Development and Structure of Juvenile Crime in the Czech Republic

Marešová, Tereza January 2019 (has links)
The main content of the thesis is development and structure of juvenile delinquency in the Czech Republic between years 2007 and 2017, focusing on current trends and problematic aspects in this area, on prevention, alternative measures and approaches in criminal proceedings and on recidivism of youth offenders. The premise of the paper is that educational and therapeutic measures should be more used in criminal procedure in juvenile court. The first part of the thesis defines the basic terms used by the author in his analysis, brief historical development of the juvenile justice system as an independent institute and the characteristics and causes of juvenile delinquency, which have their specifics. The main part of the thesis is dedicated to the analysis of development and structure of juvenile delinquency in the years 2007 to 2017. In this part, the author also deals with the imposed sanctions and the structure of crime in 2017 and analyzes the percentage decline of property crime and other current trends that affect structure and tendencies of delinquency. These trends include, in particular, the access of young people to the Internet from an early age and spending time on social networks, which pose some risks in terms of crime. The main part of the thesis also focuses on the issue of...

Differences in Offending among Bisexual and Heterosexual Youth: The Influence of Maternal Support and Running Away from Home

January 2018 (has links)
abstract: Research has consistently shown that gay/lesbian/bisexual (GLB) or sexual minority youth are at an increased risk for adverse outcomes resulting from the stress caused by continual exposure to negative events (e.g., victimization, discrimination). The present study used a nationally representative sample of adolescents to test mechanisms that may be responsible for the differences in offending behaviors among sexual minority and heterosexual adolescents. Specifically, this study tested whether bisexual adolescents received less maternal support than did heterosexual adolescents because of their sexual orientation, thus increasing the likelihood that they run away from home. This study then examined whether the greater likelihood that bisexual adolescents running away would lead to them committing a significantly higher variety of income-based offenses, but not a significantly higher variety of aggression-based offenses. This study tested the hypothesized mediation model using two separate indicators of sexual orientation measured at two different time points, modeled outcomes in two ways, as well as estimated the models separately for boys and girls. Structural equation modeling was used to test the hypothesized direct and indirect relations. Results showed support for maternal support and running away mediating the relations between sexual orientation and offending behaviors for the model predicting the likelihood of committing either an aggressive or an income offense, but only for girls who identified as bisexual in early adulthood. Results did not support these relations for the other models, suggesting that bisexual females have unique needs when it comes to prevention and intervention. Results also highlight the need for a greater understanding of sexual orientation measurement methodology. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Psychology 2018
