On Occurrence Of Plagiarism In Published Computer Science Thesis Reports At Swedish UniversitiesAnbalagan, Sindhuja January 2010 (has links)
In recent years, it has been observed that software clones and plagiarism are becoming an increased threat for one?s creativity. Clones are the results of copying and using other?s work. According to the Merriam – Webster dictionary, “A clone is one that appears to be a copy of an original form”. It is synonym to duplicate. Clones lead to redundancy of codes, but not all redundant code is a clone. On basis of this background knowledge ,in order to safeguard one?s idea and to avoid intentional code duplication for pretending other?s work as if their owns, software clone detection should be emphasized more. The objective of this paper is to review the methods for clone detection and to apply those methods for finding the extent of plagiarism occurrence among the Swedish Universities in Master level computer science department and to analyze the results. The rest part of the paper, discuss about software plagiarism detection which employs data analysis technique and then statistical analysis of the results.Plagiarism is an act of stealing and passing off the idea?s and words of another person?s as one?s own. Using data analysis technique, samples(Master level computer Science thesis report) were taken from various Swedish universities and processed in Ephorus anti plagiarism software detection. Ephorus gives the percentage of plagiarism for each thesis document, from this results statistical analysis were carried out using Minitab Software. The results gives a very low percentage of Plagiarism extent among the Swedish universities, which concludes that Plagiarism is not a threat to Sweden?s standard of education in computer science. This paper is based on data analysis, intelligence techniques, EPHORUS software plagiarism detection tool and MINITAB statistical software analysis.

Caracterização da qualidade e técnicas de detecção de bactérias em sementes de arroz / Characterization of quality and techniques for detecting of bacteria in rice seedsPacheco, Cleidionara 25 February 2011 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Taking into account the importance of rice, both in social and economic relevance that the pathogens are in the process of crop development objectives of this study was to characterize the physical, physiological and health of rice seeds, coming from the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Goiás, Roraima and verify the influence of different levels of contamination by bacteria and fungi on physiological quality of rice seeds, to test the pathogenic potential of isolates with different cultivars of which were derived; test different techniques for the isolation and growth of bacteria in the laboratory. To evaluate seed quality, tests were conducted moisture content, germination, first germination test, cold test, health testing (Blotter Test) beyond the test pathogenic bacteria were removed from their own seeds analyzed in the Blotter Test . For the evaluation of techniques for isolation and growth of bacteria we used the combined washed method of extraction with the PSA and Wakimoto culture media crushed method of extraction with PSA and Wakimoto culture media, evaluated the day 24, 48 and 72 hours of incubation with respect to number and size of bacterial colonies. In general, the samples have low vigor, good germination, low incidence of fungi and, when analyzed according to their state of origin, follow the standard set analyzed. The pathogenicity test showed no pathogenic bacteria tested as the rice seedlings were inoculated. The culture medium PSA is best used for the evaluation of colony size and number over time, the incubation period of 48 hours has become more favorable assessment of culture media on the number of colonies. The number of bacteria tends to stabilize and then decrease over time. The extraction method ground tends to be more efficient when they are evaluated over a sample of seeds. The characteristics of the seed samples influence the results, regardless of extraction method and the culture medium used.
