Rozvoj skalního lezení / The Development of Rock Climbing

Bartoš, Karel January 2017 (has links)
The following thesis deals with consequences of human activities at rock sites, aiming to address issues related to the popularity of this sport. Using all available analytical data I determined most suitable locations to serve as an alternative to current overcrowded sites. Consequently, for experimental use of architectonical tools, I selected an area near Brno, namely: Veveří, Amálka, Sokolí rocks, rocks at Řikonína, Sochorka, Nedvědice, Vysoká rock at Štěpánov and Bohuňovské rocks. In order to link all those sites I proposed a building of adventurous disposition which wouldn’t rival the rocks themselves but rather emphasize their atmosphere. In the end I picked a bivouac, hung in treetops, to fulfil that role. The character of said building allows for its set ups beyond the selected area as well. Additional buildings are linked to bivouac as well, creating a well functional group. As such, these buildings represent a symbol as they make other, less known and eroded sites more attractive to potential visitors.

Hallo Quasselstrippe! - Fragen stellen und Zukunft gestalten!

Hinrichsen, Tomma Suki, Bergmann, Malte 30 June 2022 (has links)

Desenvolvimento e sustentabilidade: novas interfaces para a luta quilombola

Peralta, Rosa Lima 08 May 2012 (has links)

From this perspective, traditional communities have been distinguished by their different forms of social organization and appropriation of natural resources. Despite many achievements in the legal framework, the realization of their rights is still hampered by many factors and opposing actors. The case of quilombo communities appears to be emblematic in this sense. Although the Federal Constitution recognizes quilombos property rights over their territories, there has been no guarantee of these communities permanence, due to their social, political and environmental vulnerability. This complex scenario, characteristic of so-called socio-environmental conflicts, refers to the theoreticalframework of the Political Ecology and the Environmental Justice movement. For empirical research, we selected two quilombo communities in the estate of Paraíba: Paratibe, located in the capital of the estate, and Senhor do Bonfim, located in the rural area of the municipality of Areia. The methodologychosen, called ethnography of socio-environmental conflicts (LITTLE, 2006),proves to be appropriate as we recognize that anthropology, in addition to maintaining a strong affinity with the quilombola theme, can contribute greatly to the collection and interpretation of data. While using landscape as prime unit of analysis, instead of concentrating research in a particular social group, the proposed methodology focuses on the socio-environmental conflict, beyond the local level, by listing the various actors involved, their interests, strategies, alliances and quotas of power, including considering the role of "natural agency". With this work, we intend to point out how the quilombola struggle falls in the current debate on development and sustainability that permeates all sectors of society. To do so,it is necessary not to restrain to technical and economic aspects, but also consider historical, social, cultural and political factors. It is important to understand that the adverse social and environmental impacts, even affecting people and groups unequally, affect the whole society. In this sense, from the quilombola example, we aim to point out that it is only through a review of concepts and an interdisciplinary approach to the contemporary problems that we may aspire to a more just, democratic and sustainable society, in all respects.

Agronegócio, desenvolvimento e Sustentabilidade: Um estudo de caso em Rio Verde GO / Agribusiness Development and Sustainability: A Case Study in Rio Verde - GO

GUIMARÃES, Gislene Margaret Avelar 12 August 2010 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Tese Gislene M A Guimaraes CIAMB 2010.pdf: 1049118 bytes, checksum: 358c2943d895f1151ef16b26d0ec60c0 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-08-12 / The development has been taken as a synonymous with economic growth in most contemporary societies. Nevertheless, the emergence of social problems, ecological and economic ones has also shown the inadequacy of this conception. In this context, the idea of sustainable development emerges as a way to reconcile economic growth, social justice and ecological prudence, covering different theoretical and ideological positions and configuring a field of dispute about how to understand- taking in social practices - the development and the sustainability. The present work analyzed the development of agribusiness in Rio Verde (Goias, Brazil) related with social and ecological dimensions, mediated by the institutional dimension. The results obtained from research and application of the Delphi Panel on Sustainability for temporal analysis of sustainable development indices in the municipality indicate the growth of agribusiness has contributed to improvements in living conditions of the population, but has brought negative impacts to environment. Also indicates the changes in production systems, due to social and institutional pressures, that can result in a development model more sustainable.

The (un)Sustainable Business of Business : Hållbart Företagande

Creutz, Julia January 2018 (has links)
Businesses have historically had a negative impact on the environment by contributing to pollution, the increase of greenhouse emissions, neglection of responsible waste disposal, and deforestation among other things. Governments around the globe have been trying to align to goals and principles to decrease the negative impacts of humans, and it is now time for companies to step up and contribute to a more sustainable society. The research question for this study is “what can be the challenges when working with sustainability frameworks as an IT consultant firm?”. To answer this, research within Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), green ICT, and sustainable business have been conducted. In addition to this, the relation of two sustainability frameworks within IT consultant strategies have been assessed. Other than that, a case study have been carried out at an IT consultant firm. A result of this case study is a mapping of processes and their work with digital sustainability and sustainability frameworks. Two of the greatest challenges discussed in this study are about measuring and communicating the sustainability impact of projects.
