Le discours coranique : énonciation et énonciateurs / Quranic discourse : enunciation and enunciators

Mazguidi, Mostapha 26 June 2018 (has links)
The Qur'an, an omnipresent discourse via different media, has been a constant source of attention since the beginning of writing in the Arab sphere; writing as a composition of works because culture was, before the Koran, oral. From then until today, he remains an inexhaustible object of study and speculation. The language sciences are not sufficiently exploited to explore its mysteries as a unique religious discourse. Linguistic studies were limited to the linguistic domains of Arabic such as syntax and rhetoric which attempted to resurrect what makes the Koran an inimitable discourse as it presents itself and as presented by Islamic Tradition. This work aims at an analysis that draws modern theories of language sciences for an understanding of Koranic discourse.

It is a proposal of analysis that can be applied to this type of discourse in any location, and a case study, that applied the analysis proposed in the thesis. The general objective of this research was to analyze the local information on the environment conveyed through journalistic, political and business discourse, establishing historical, social and ideological relations of environmental discourse that permeate the three areas concerned. The methodology included three phases: literature search and literature review on the key concepts pointed in the research; survey of local discourses available in the media to analyze in the case study; discourse analysis using the protocol developed based on the French line of discourse analysis. The case study presents an analysis of the environmental discourse in the city of Frutal-MG, which are now underway various research and environmental projects. The main conclusion confirms the hypothesis of the research that environmental information produced from political, journalistic and business discourses at the local level has predominantly situational, marketing and propaganda character, little focused on awareness and education, with an emphasis on commercial and electoral interests and in solving emergency problems / Esta tese tem como tema principal o discurso ambiental local.

Rodna analiza teksta u online štampanim medijima u Srbiji / Gender Analysis of the Online Editions of Printed Media in Serbia

smislu pozicija «ženskog» konstruisana i
vladajućim ideologijama i njima svojstvenim
medijskim praksama. In that sense, the
position of „feminine“ is constructed and
labeled as „the other“, the figure reflecting
prevailing social relations. Thus, woman is a
category and things attributed to this category,
i.e. to the feminine principle, are other, secondrated,
unwelcome, less worth within the
dominant ideologies and media practices typical
for them. One of the issues I deal with in this
work is the research on whether the new media
technologies and new forms of communication
and conveying media content, as well as the
dynamic relationship between media contents
and media audiences, contribute to the change
of representing and constructing feminine
identities in media discourses, or they just
repeat the patriarchal discriminatory patterns in
a new media setting.
Aim of the research is to show how different
identities of women are being constructed in the
representation practices of the online editions
of the printed media, as well as to determine if
these media practices include the strategies of
excluding women through certain constructions
of reality, ghettoization and stereotyping of
women in the media, and if they do, to examine
how these strategies work.
Methodological framework of the research
„Gender Analysis of the Online Editions of
Printed Media in Serbia“ includes combination
of quantitative and qualitative approaches to the
process of proving hypotheses – one general
and three specific hypotheses derived from the
general one.
General Hypothesis
Unrelated to the global transformation of media
genres and ways of communication, female
identity in the contemporary transitional society
of Serbia is always represented as „the other“
and through „otherness“, regardless of the
position an identity has in the social distribution
of power.
Hypothesis 1
In the media discourse there is uneven
distribution of power and visibility of different
female identities (women from the public sphere
vs. marginalized women).
Hypothesis 2
Media texts recognize the subject of violence
against women as the crucial subject of the lives
of women, i.e. it is crucial in the media
representations of women in the social context –
and the majority of women are presented as
victims.
Hypothesis 3
Women from minority and marginalized groups
are invisible in the media discourse of the online
editions of printed media.
Hypotheses were tested through the research
based on monitoring online editions of the
printed media (texts and comments of readers):
four national – Blic, Politikа, Kurir, Dаnаs, and
one local – Dnevnik from Novi Sad. Analýza diskursů porodu ve vybraných českých médiích / Discourse analysis of childbirth in the Czech media

Suchánková, Markéta January 2015 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the analysis of a dispute regarding home birth and discourses associated with it. The thesis focuses on the analysis of a dispute regarding home birth and discourses associated with it. The thesis focuses on the analysis of a dispute regarding home birth and discourses associated with it. Choice of location and proces sof giving birth in czech environment remains very limited and domestic deliveries are subject of controversy among professional medical community and state institutions on the one hand and midwives, civil movements and comitted mothers on the other hand. Theme divides laical and expert public. It's established through discourses, reflect the views and opinions of the two quarreled groups - supporters of medically controlled childbirth and supporters of natural birth. In the context of media reporting can be identified two main streams of discursive formations, scattering of concepts, thematic choices, objels and modalities of coming to the statement - medical discourse and natural discourse. The controversy both discourses in the Czech media escalated with court case with midwife Ivana Königsmarková, who in 2009 assisted at home birth that ended tragically - serious damage and subsequent death of a child. Just on the case of Ivana Königsmarková and its...

Srovnávací studie překladu českého lexému "aby" do angličtiny v paralelních česko-anglických textech / A comparative study of the Czech lexeme "aby" and its English translations in parallel Czech-English texts

Vašková, Petra January 2012 (has links)
The present study focuses on functions and English translation counterparts of the Czech lexeme aby. It is a relatively frequent word in the Czech language which is described as a subordinating conjunction expressing purpose, effect, manner, and also as a particle with a number of discourse functions. The current description, however, does not seem complete and this study therefore aims to analyse its use in more detail. Lexicographic and grammatical sources served as a basis for the classification of aby as a conjunction and as a particle. After an analysis of 200 examples it soon became evident that this listing is not complete and the use of aby is more complex than originally expected. The present paper thus treats all the functions of aby and also exemplifies each of them using extracted corpus data. In the study, aby in its conjunction and particle use is firstly treated separately to analyse each of them in more depth. This analysis, consequently, provides basis to point out their common features as well as their differences. The English translational counterparts are another point of interest in the study, in particular, their adequacy, regularity, and lexicalization.

Scottish secondary education from a critical community psychological perspective : power, control and exclusion

Fox, Rachael January 2008 (has links)
This research examines problematic and taken for granted issues in Scottish Secondary Education, from a critical community psychological perspective. Young people are positioned as central to the research, in particular young people experiencing exclusion being the most disempowered group in education, and to fully understand problems they experience the thesis develops a standpoint with young people. Methodologically the research is grounded in a particular approach to praxis. Critical reflection, action and knowledge construction all influence one another cyclically in complex relationships, at times conflicting and at others developing together dialogically and these relationships are embraced and reflected upon carefully. Power and knowledge are viewed as being inextricably linked and knowledge, what is legitimated within a certain frame of reference as ‘truth’ or ‘reality’, is viewed as being constructed by dominant groups with the power to do so. Ethnography was carried out in three educational settings: a mainstream High School; a Special School in a city centre catering for young people experiencing exclusion; and a Youth Project where permanently excluded young people were on an alternative curriculum. Qualitative methods were used in a varied and tailored way for each setting and group of people and included Participatory Action Research and group work with young people, interview and group work with teachers, active participation in settings leading to fieldwork notes, and collection of textual information. Analysis involved careful examination of a wide variety of material, drawing on various methods of discourse analysis. The research material was analysed for the ways in which education made possible and placed limits on legislation, social practices, ways of speaking and ways of being. The assumption that adults must be in control of young people in education was found to be absolute and pervasive, stemming from societal ideas of young people, but also perpetuating them. This emerged throughout my research, from practices in mainstream school to ways of speaking available to adults and young people. Inclusion, while often spoken of in relation to equality and social justice, in practice is often conditional, and is re-positioned in this thesis as a form of control. School exclusion is often described in education as being expelled or suspended, but is repositioned in this research more generally as being excluded from learning and peers, and is argued as inherently problematic. Problematic, institutional, educational discourse is constructed as often placing limits on ways of speaking, such that critical reflection and action within secondary education becomes very difficult for adults and young people. Ways of speaking available to young people are examined and demonstrate that while education imposes particular ways of speaking and being, young people find opportunities to resist and reconstruct. Ways of being are examined, between adults and young people in educational settings, and an account of performance of resistance and compliance between young people and adults is developed. This research draws on a complex and multi disciplinary use of theory, literature, methodology and methods, and in doing so constructs an account of young people’s experiences in education that is based on a standpoint with young people. By grounding the research in the interests of young people, particularly those experiencing school exclusion, it challenges assumptions of dominance and control that have implications for education as a whole and all those operating within.

Doutrelant, Solène 08 1900 (has links)
Beginning in the spring of 2019, an awareness campaign on mental health issues has been deployed on the campus of the Université de Montréal. Many similar initiatives have been launched across the province of Quebec that aim to eliminate the stigma of mental illness. Thus, a new, positive and anti-stigmatizing Discourse is challenging the deep-rooted Discourse that stigmatizes mental illness in society. By Discourse, it is necessary to understand a discursive whole that takes up ideologies and the meanings of phenomena; this is materialized in words and social interactions (discourse). There is thus a growing tension inherent to the very meaning of mental illness. The purpose of this Master’s thesis is to better understand this tension between these two Discourses in the words and attitudes of Quebecers. The research project focuses on university students because of their hybrid age bracket (leaving adolescence and entering adulthood) where the societal tolerance for mental illness tends to shift from indulgence for children to stigmatization for adults. To this end, focus groups with Quebec university students allowed us to depict their perception of this discursive tension in their interpersonal relationships. The discussion transcripts were thematically analyzed. The main results show the emergence of a dissonant discourse, which mixes stigmatizing and anti-stigmatizing Discourse, and the persistence of stigmatizing Discourse held by people who are socially distant from the sick person. These findings formed the basis of a relational model of how participants experienced the stigma of their mental illness, providing a new perspective on the theory of labelling and stigmatization.

Determining Purpose through Metafunctional Meanings: A Discourse Analysis of Two Speeches in Acts 2 and 17

Jung, Jae Cheon 11 1900 (has links)
There are a large number of character speeches in Acts. Scholars have used various means and methods to contribute to a feasible and plausible answer regarding the functions of speeches in Acts. Unfortunately, the studies have often been focused on the authenticity of the speeches: were they Luke's creation or simply his compilation? This dissertation presents another set of tools for scholars to revisit Luke's speeches in Acts in order to add insight into their questions, and also to broaden the realm of this narrow focus. In particular, I will implement and demonstrate how to use modern linguistics, namely discourse analysis based on Halliday's Systemic Functional Linguistics. The present study ventures to apply this linguistic insight by focusing on two speeches in the Acts of the Apostles, Acts 2:14-36 and 17:22-31. If scholars wish to study the speeches of Acts further, or any New Testament speeches, hopefully this dissertation will provide a helpful approach to meet their needs. Thus, analyzing and comparing the author's functionally linguistic choices in these two speeches with regards to similarities and differences will describe his specific use of these speeches. The most notable contribution of the dissertation will be found in implementing a new approach to the study of speeches in Acts. I also hope such a due recognition of the language will motivate and inspire further linguistic explorations into various areas, which remain perplexed by other approaches.
