Unknown Date (has links)

Dispozice s nemovitostmi v porovnání českého a finského právního řádu / Disposition with real property in comparison with czech and finnish legal regulation

Kolban, Petr January 2013 (has links)
7 Abstract Disposition with real estate falls within the scope of present diploma thesis. The main goal of the thesis is the comparison of two legal orders which are, in many ways, similar; nevertheless, there might be found some differences which are described in textual matter. The thesis itself is divided into six chapters redundant, reflects a reform of Czech private law in progress and compares Czech doctrine with relevant case law. It is focused mainly on real estate disposition from the point of view of private law (however, some aspects of public law had to be taken into account) and lays emphasis on legal terms such as "thing", "immovable", "property", "ownership", "disposition" in their broader meaning, and "purchase agreement" (and other topics related to them). The introduction contains the outline of the structure, main goals of the thesis and a definition of the term "disposition". Disposition is perceived, as mentioned above, in largo sensu meaning and includes not only the right to make a legal act concerning the thing but also the owner's rights to use, posses, gain benefits and destroy the thing. Chapter two deals with the historical development of Finnish land law. General legal history is also taken into consideration. The following chapter discusses various kinds of things which may be...

Meat Quality and Disposition of F2 Nellore x Angus Cross Cattle

Nicholson, Kristin Leigh 15 May 2009 (has links)
Correlations between cattle disposition and meat quality were expected to be found, as well as differences in meat quality traits among contemporary groups, sires, and families nested within sires. Temperament effects on meat quality were evaluated in Nellore × Angus F2 cross cattle (n = 238) over a 3-yr period, with harvests twice a year. Five aspects of temperament -- aggressiveness, nervousness, flightiness, gregariousness, and overall temperament -- were evaluated at weaning and yearling ages, as well as an overall temperament score at slaughter. USDA quality grade, fat thickness, adjusted fat thickness, hot carcass weight, USDA yield grade, and chemical fat were correlated negatively (P < 0.05) with weaning temperament scores, aggressiveness, nervousness, flightiness, gregariousness, and overall temperament. No significant correlation was found between Warner-Bratzler shear and weaning temperament traits. USDA quality grade and live weight were correlated negatively (P < 0.05) with yearling temperament scores, nervousness, flightiness, gregariousness, overall temperament score as well as the temperament score observed at slaughter. Fat thickness and adjusted fat thickness also were correlated negatively (P < 0.05) with yearling gregariousness, yearling overall, and slaughter overall temperament. Yearling gregariousness was correlated positively (P < 0.05) with Warner-Bratzler shear from both ES and NON carcasses. Least squares mean differences were evaluated among contemporary groups, sires, and families nested within sires for overall temperament traits and meat quality traits. Contemporary group differences found were thought to be explained by environmental factors, as seen in contemporary group 5, which had the smallest ribeye possibly caused by the shortest feeding period. Steers sired by 297J had the lowest (calmest) temperament scores, most 12th rib fat, highest numerical yield grade, and the heaviest weights. Sire 437J had steers with the highest (wildest) temperament scores, the least fat and lowest numerical yield grade. This population was designed to identify QTL for economically important traits and appears to be useful for this purpose because of the differences found both between and within families.

Examining the behaviour of re-gifting using a multi-method approach.

Ormandy, Elizabeth Mary January 2011 (has links)
This study investigated the behaviour of re-gifting using both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Re-gifting is the gift-giving behaviour of giving a gift that was previously given to you, to another with the pretence that you purchased the gift. The qualitative phase used semi-structured interviews to uncover an initial understanding of re-gifting behaviour from participants’ selected using purposive sampling. The main findings arising from this phase showed that re-gifters used three main factors to determine when it is appropriate to re-gift. These three factors, relationship, occasion and gift were used as the basis of the conceptual framework. This framework was then analysed using an online experiment with the use of vignette techniques which was the focus of the quantitative phase. The study focused on understanding what influences individuals decisions to re-gift. The main factors of interest were how the gift, occasion and relationships involved influenced re-gifting intentions. Re-gifting attitudes where analysed using the factors gift-giving attitudes, previous re-gifting experiences and frequency of re-gifting. A total of 211 responses were collected from Web users from around the world. The study suggests that re-gifters are influenced by the relationships involved and the type of gift, not the occasion. Re-gifting attitudes can be influenced by previous re-gifting experiences. This study has numerous practical implications, more specifically for retailers and charity organisations. This study adds major contributions to both gift-giving and disposition literature and introduces the area of re-gifting. Future research in cultural differences, gender differences and re-gifters versus non re-gifters suggested.

The Effects of Permanent Partial Disability on Claim Disposition Agreements

Todd, Brandy L., 1977- 06 1900 (has links)
x, 43 p. : ill. (some col.) A print copy of this thesis is available through the UO Libraries. Search the library catalog for the location and call number. / Increasingly, workers' compensation (WC) insurers are turning to claim disposition agreements (CDA) as a means of reducing costs. CDAs are agreements between injured workers and insurers that close claims for a lump sum payment in lieu of other payments to which workers may be entitled. Intuitively, CDA payment amounts are expected to vary in response to changes in WC benefit levels. Models for decision-making processes related to lump sum versus benefit streams suggest the opposite. This thesis examines the relationship between CDA amounts and permanent partial disability (PPD) using two models. The first model utilizes individual claim information before and after a legislated benefit increase in the state of Oregon. The second model examines aggregate claims and payments made over a 16-year period from 1990 through 1995. / Committee In Charge Dr. Jessica Greene, Chair; Dr. L. Leete; Dr. R. Irvin

Putz, Dominique 27 September 2013 (has links)
