No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2015-08-26 / This work is the result of uneasiness about the invisibility of serious human rights violations perpetrated during the civil-military dictatorship in the Northeast of Brazil, as well as the absence of accurate studies on transitional justice in the Northeastern region. In this regard, it is considered, as its main goal, to analyze the implementation of transitional justice in the Brazilian Northeast region. Therefore, qualitative, documental and bibliographical research have been used. Initially, a general canvas of the dictatorial regimes was disclosed, followed by a discussion about the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship and its repercussions in the Northeast region. Then, the transitional justice model implemented in Brazil was introduced. Afterwards, comparative studies on transitional justice were presented. Furthermore, it was commented about initiatives that have contributed to the implementation of transitional justice in the Northeast. Finally, it was shown the concentrationist logic based on South-Southeast axis which has reflected upon the lack of public policies and transitional bibliography relevant to the Brazilian Northeast. This was ruptured, primarily, by the installation of the Amnesty Commission, in Ceará (2002), and, subsequently, by the creation of State Commissions of Truth of Pernambuco (2012) and Paraíba (2012), as well as other non-governmental initiatives, which contributed to bring visibility to the transitional arrangements in the region. Currently, the challenge of the Brazilian Northeast lies on the implication of civil society in order to overcome its own repressive legacy, and, at the same time, commit itself to promote the rights to truth, memory, justice and reform of its institutions. National Truth Commission. / O presente trabalho é fruto da inquietação decorrente da invisibilização das graves violações de direitos humanos cometidas durante a ditadura civil-militar no Nordeste brasileiro, assim como da ausência de estudos acurados sobre a justiça de transição na região nordestina. Nesse sentido, assume-se por objetivo principal analisar a implementação da justiça de transição no Nordeste brasileiro. Para tanto, utilizou-se pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, do tipo documental e bibliográfico interdisciplinar. Inicialmente, discorreu-se sobre os regimes ditatoriais, em sentido genérico, e, na sequência, pontuou-se acerca da ditadura civil-militar brasileira e de suas repercussões no Nordeste. Em seguida, dissertou-se sobre o modelo de justiça de transição implementado no Brasil. Posteriormente, foram apresentados estudos comparativos sobre a justiça transicional. Ainda, discorreu-se acerca de iniciativas que têm contribuído para a implementação da justiça transicional no Nordeste. Ao final, demonstrou-se da lógica concentracionista do eixo Sul-Sudeste que repercutiu na escassez de políticas públicas e de bibliografia transicionais pertinentes ao Nordeste brasileiro, rompida, precipuamente, pela instalação da Comissão de Anistia no Ceará (2002) e, empós, com a criação das Comissões Estaduais da Verdade de Pernambuco (2012) e da Paraíba (2012), assim como de outras iniciativas de caráter não-governamental, que concorreram para trazer visibilidade aos mecanismos transicionais na região. Atualmente, o desafio do Nordeste brasileiro reside na implicação de sua sociedade civil para a suplantação do seu legado repressivo, e, simultaneamente, no seu assenhoramento para a efetivação dos direitos à verdade, memória, justiça e reforma das suas instituições.
